Mint coffee sounds foul. You know what else is foul? The fact that Dunkin Donuts has BERRY flavored coffee. Who on Earth thinks that's a good idea?!

(sorry for boob) (ENBB), Monday, 20 July 2009 21:31 (sixteen years ago)

sounds like a BERRY BAD idea

Mr. Que, Monday, 20 July 2009 21:33 (sixteen years ago)

Have you tried mint coffee yet? Was it good?

drunk shudder shades chick gets kicked out of mcdonalds totally (╓abies), Sunday, 26 July 2009 15:19 (sixteen years ago)

no i didn't make mint syrup yet! i was thinking about berry coffee this morning. it's gross but maybe they meant it to be like coffee that has berry-like overtones? like yirgacheffe or something maybe. anyway it sounds like a complete failure

blobfish russian (harbl), Sunday, 26 July 2009 15:32 (sixteen years ago)

i have actually had mint syrup in iced coffee it is not so bad but i only put a tiny bit in. also i used to get turkish coffee at this place and they would put an andes mint in the bottom which was a pleasant surprise at the end!

tehresa, Monday, 27 July 2009 03:49 (sixteen years ago)

i made a whole bunch of infused simple syrups a while ago and so when i had iced coffee i figured mint was the best choice (over tamarind, lemon, and rosemary) since i had no plain syrup.

fergusnoodle, Monday, 27 July 2009 09:37 (sixteen years ago)

blobfish russian (harbl), Monday, 27 July 2009 10:23 (sixteen years ago)

If/when I go to gf's family bbqs etc and the turkish (lebanese) coffee is busted out some of the ladies read ur fortune from how the dregs sit in ur cup.

wilter, Monday, 27 July 2009 10:29 (sixteen years ago)

I've had someone read the grounds in my turkish coffee before! I don't believe in that kind of thing at all but it's interesting to me that it's a thing.

ENBB, Monday, 27 July 2009 11:50 (sixteen years ago)

Harbl I am tempted to get the berry coffee on my way to work this morning just to see if it's as disgusting as I assume it will be.

ENBB, Monday, 27 July 2009 11:51 (sixteen years ago)

I've never had turkish coffee but it scares me more than mint coffee.

╓abies, Monday, 27 July 2009 13:07 (sixteen years ago)

I got the berry coffee. Am regretting it.

ENBB, Monday, 27 July 2009 13:43 (sixteen years ago)

ppl who drink coffee with soy milk: do you find that it separates really easily? i feel like unless it's the perfectly balanced blend, this happens all the time. it's annoying. not as annoying as separated milk/cream, though.

tehresa, Thursday, 30 July 2009 17:27 (sixteen years ago)

could be the temp, try rice milk

blobfish russian (harbl), Thursday, 30 July 2009 18:30 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah I have that problem too T.

ENBB, Thursday, 30 July 2009 18:54 (sixteen years ago)

my percolator is dying. I ended up pouring the hot water directly into the part where the grounds go and let it filter through, and it made really good coffee. I realized that the percolator hadn't made really good coffee in a while.

free jazz and mumia (sarahel), Wednesday, 5 August 2009 20:44 (sixteen years ago)

I just realised I've been spending baot $30 on takeaway coffees per week. It's worth it tbh.

wilter, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 23:15 (sixteen years ago)

We get free coffee at work, which I keep trying to convince myself is a really great employee perk, but it's like drinking boiled dishwater. It's the worst coffee I've ever had. And it's kinda weak, I like my coffee like a mule kick to the skull. I think I'm joining Wilter in this takeaway habit.

make your own you will save hundreds

permanent response lopp (harbl), Sunday, 9 August 2009 12:59 (sixteen years ago)

There's so much temptation with there being a Starbucks right downstairs! Their long blacks give me the awesomest caffeine high. I think I need an espresso machine.

°⌉ 3⊥∀N (╓abies), Sunday, 9 August 2009 13:56 (sixteen years ago)

starbucks? really?
seriously, make your own.

tehresa, Monday, 10 August 2009 02:41 (sixteen years ago)

lol yeah. I only get long blacks though, if I could make espresso at home I wouldn't be fuckin with 'em.

°⌉ 3⊥∀N (╓abies), Monday, 10 August 2009 05:08 (sixteen years ago)

we got a deese espresso machine at work. short/long blacks are tolerable, milky coffee tastes horrid tho

wilter, Monday, 10 August 2009 05:10 (sixteen years ago)

what is a long black? is that a nz thing?

tehresa, Monday, 10 August 2009 05:10 (sixteen years ago)

espresso shot on hot water iirc? mebbe two shots?

wilter, Monday, 10 August 2009 05:11 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah it's a double over hot water.

°⌉ 3⊥∀N (╓abies), Monday, 10 August 2009 05:17 (sixteen years ago)

so like an americano.

tehresa, Monday, 10 August 2009 05:27 (sixteen years ago)

wiki shite:

A long black is a style of coffee, most commonly found in Australia and New Zealand, made by pulling a double-shot of espresso over hot water (usually the water is also heated by the espresso machine). A long black is similar to an Americano, which is made by adding hot water to espresso shots, but it retains the crema and is less voluminous, therefore more strongly flavoured.

The order in which a long black is made (water first, espresso second) is important; reversing the steps will destroy the crema from the espresso shots.

Short black is an Australasian synonym for the basic espresso.

wilter, Monday, 10 August 2009 05:30 (sixteen years ago)

i don't like milky coffees, they often taste bad to me, i like long blacks, no sugar.

estela, Monday, 10 August 2009 21:28 (sixteen years ago)

they're the good stuff i am looking fwd to them

jergins, Monday, 10 August 2009 21:30 (sixteen years ago)

estela, Monday, 10 August 2009 21:35 (sixteen years ago)

some day i will buy my v own espresso machine and have crema-topped delights every day!

tehresa, Monday, 10 August 2009 23:46 (sixteen years ago)

― estela

I mostly go for flat whites tbh, but yuh short or long blacks are the safest option if u don't know if the coffee at a place is shitty or not
