Just a normal sink, ok? Just a regular goddamm sink that doesn't have the faucet sticking out of a mirrored wall or a bowl that looks more like the crapper than the actual crapper. Does the giant hanging ornament have something to do with the sink's function? What if I'm shaving and I need to sweep some of the whiskers into the sink. I know it's not good for the pipes, but for fuck's sake, let me be the one to figure that out.

House I grew up in had a conversation pit. I liked how it looked, along with the inference that social interaction is crucial enough to warrant a dedicated room in a small house. But I couldn't sit in there without worrying that someone from the raised area surrounding it would step back and accidentally fall in. The top of the couch seatbacks weren't much higher than the floor, and if you put a railing or kneewall up to prevent inward falls it spoils the effect.
