u could prob find good coffee locally that is not starbucks btw--my friend orders from deansbeans.com in MA but if you don't buy enough at a time the shipping can cost as much as the coffee. whole foods is not convenient to get to but i went to different grocery store and found some that is good and costs the same as safeway crap. i am happy now. the last few weeks i have been just wanting to take a nap all day :(

The Midwest is completely married to drinking coffee black, they will mercilessly mock anyone who doctors it. However, in NYC and Boston and I don't know where else, "light and sweet" is considered "the usual", and everyone from cops to truck drivers to construction workers take their coffee w milk and sugar. Just another reason to love New York, I sez.

btw i've recently become the proud owner of one of those bialetti stovetop deals, and there's a place a block away that roasts the beans on the premises, so

drinkin iced coffee from a jam jar right now, iirc
I love the Bialetti-style coffee! I need to replace my old one, I guess they do get mucky and worn after a while. Also it was straight aluminum and I think I want a better quality version next time. Add to half a cup of hot milk and you get instant morning.

apparently you are not supposed to clean them with anything but cold water????

"light and sweet" is considered "the usual"
Yes here they just say "regular" and that means l&s. It's very hard to explain this to people not from the US who might order a regular coffee just meaning filtered and not a latte or something. JUST SAY COFFEE!! s,dhng;liwehGBRG.

tho my friend vijay swears up and down that dunkin donuts coffee is its own drink, wholly apart from "real coffee"

i hate that i just spilled my coffee on the rug

I drink my coffee pretty in the mornings and black in the afternoons.
Didja know that coffee is considered a "clear liquid" in regards to medical testing and scans? In other words, if you're getting your guts checked out and have to fast for eight hours, you can still drink coffee and water. Go figure.

I used to hate coffee until about five or six months ago. Thought it tasted like an ash tray full of boiling water. Turns out you just add sugar and then your life gets better.

i guess sugar is ok in iced coffee. i just made simple syrup for this purpose. what would happen if you put mint syrup in it? gross? because i have some mint in the fridge i could have syruped
― blobfish russian (harbl), Monday, 20 July 2009 21:24 (sixteen years ago)

― Mr. Que, Monday, 20 July 2009 21:24 (sixteen years ago)
i was just wondering, what would happen and if anyone has tried it. that's all
― blobfish russian (harbl), Monday, 20 July 2009 21:25 (sixteen years ago)

― Mr. Que, Monday, 20 July 2009 21:26 (sixteen years ago)
tho simple syrup sounds like a sweet plan
get it
sweet?
Mint coffee sounds foul. You know what else is foul? The fact that Dunkin Donuts has BERRY flavored coffee. Who on Earth thinks that's a good idea?!
― (sorry for boob) (ENBB), Monday, 20 July 2009 21:31 (sixteen years ago)
sounds like a BERRY BAD idea

Have you tried mint coffee yet? Was it good?
― drunk shudder shades chick gets kicked out of mcdonalds totally (╓abies), Sunday, 26 July 2009 15:19 (sixteen years ago)
no i didn't make mint syrup yet! i was thinking about berry coffee this morning. it's gross but maybe they meant it to be like coffee that has berry-like overtones? like yirgacheffe or something maybe. anyway it sounds like a complete failure
― blobfish russian (harbl), Sunday, 26 July 2009 15:32 (sixteen years ago)
i have actually had mint syrup in iced coffee it is not so bad but i only put a tiny bit in. also i used to get turkish coffee at this place and they would put an andes mint in the bottom which was a pleasant surprise at the end!
― tehresa, Monday, 27 July 2009 03:49 (sixteen years ago)
i made a whole bunch of infused simple syrups a while ago and so when i had iced coffee i figured mint was the best choice (over tamarind, lemon, and rosemary) since i had no plain syrup.
