I have seen fun shoes too, there are some nice print Vans around, and also fun scarves, again, think one fun item per outfit is enough.

I would like to have all of these shorts.

disconcerting to see increasing numbers of grown men in dublin wearing shorts. they can't all be tourists.

one of my friends is strongly opposed to grown men wearing shorts, and in most cases i'm inclined to agree; however, i'll abide them in certain climates. i think they should generally only be worn for specific purposes, though, e.g. swimming or playing sports. otherwise too casual and also they're a vestige of boyhood. poss bordering on blogs instruct you how to be a man territory here *shrugs*

i don't want to be misconstrued, but idk what can you do? i'm being somewhat facetious with "abide", just so you don't think i'm hidebound or sniffy. i vacillate a little on this one, not wanting to be judgmental about other people's clothing choices, and recognising the suitability of certain styles on certain people above the age of say, 13, but also having a fairly old-fashioned take on the garment's general wear and appropriateness. i think i look fairly good in some shorts, too, but it doesn't mean i think it's apt to wear them in most situations.

xpost those are an example of shorts worn well, looking suitable, and iirc being worn for a specific leisurely purpose.

i don't think pleats are offensive, but pleats-as-a-concept are kind of in a place where they're either tragically uncool OR super fashion. i think we're overdue for wider, fuller proportions to return to menswear but for now pleated shorts still bring to mind elderly tourists with white socks pulled up.

yeah pleats are so gross, so are those generously cut billowy style oxfords that Brooks Brothers and the like sell (JUST WEAR SHIT THAT FITS, DUMBY)

pleats can be cool but they also can get out of control real fast, sans pleats is def a safer approach
