i mean its totally on me not even considering the itchiness but i did expect it to be a lil heavier

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:13 (ten years ago) link

im not like a huge layerer so maybe it just doesnt fit my lifestyle

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:14 (ten years ago) link

you should layer!

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:20 (ten years ago) link

i mean if you want to be true to your naval roots, you should layer that shirt

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:20 (ten years ago) link

idk if i can justify the investment for occasional layer opportunities tbh

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:21 (ten years ago) link

i used to have a heavy woolrich flannel shirt that was p cool

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:21 (ten years ago) link

those are v soft but a lil more rigid tho, this one hangs v nice

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:22 (ten years ago) link

layer opportunities are all around you man

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:22 (ten years ago) link

i mean you're at least wearing this thing with a tshirt, right?

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:22 (ten years ago) link

then its like really just a jacket for the outdoors, but id like to wear it indoors w just a tee underneath idk got to think this over so many emotions

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:23 (ten years ago) link

oh yeah dont worry ive got the tee under im not insane

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:24 (ten years ago) link

sometimes i wonder!!!

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:25 (ten years ago) link

haha wait until you see this next idea i have u will def think me quite mad

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:25 (ten years ago) link

maybe i can get my tailor to put a lining in the sleeves is this insane y/n

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:26 (ten years ago) link

that is bananas

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:32 (ten years ago) link

i think it might work, but you would have to line the body too otherwise it would hang weird, no?

wouldn't it just be easier to get a couple of long sleeve t shirts?

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:33 (ten years ago) link

i think if you just put in a super thin satin lining it wouldnt affect how it hangs v much, i dont really f w long sleeve tees idk

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:37 (ten years ago) link

tho maybe cotton would be better

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:37 (ten years ago) link

Warning u, my Lands' End one doesn't seem that scratchy on the outside and the sleeves are lined, but it still scratches bare arms thru the lining.

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 20:56 (ten years ago) link

the whole point of shirt jackets is that you get to wear like fourteen shirts at once

Lamp, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 21:12 (ten years ago) link

like a little kid pretending to be fat in the 90s

Lamp, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 21:12 (ten years ago) link

the only rule is that one of the fourteen layers has to be a chambray oxford

actually thats one of the only two rules the other rule is that custard is delicious

Lamp, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 21:13 (ten years ago) link

damn let me write this down

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 21:15 (ten years ago) link

yeah shirt jackets look best with a sub-collar

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 21:18 (ten years ago) link

I'm so sad I'm reduced to the down puffy coat (even though mine is p nice) by this weather. I miss my shirt jacket.

Orson Wellies (in orbit), Tuesday, 21 January 2014 21:34 (ten years ago) link

my shirt jacket has arrived and classes are cancelled after 6pm via snow so eff this i'm going home to strut about in my shirt jacket

caek, Tuesday, 21 January 2014 21:35 (ten years ago) link

my other shirt jacket arrived. it has been a banner week for shirt jackets.

caek, Thursday, 23 January 2014 17:25 (ten years ago) link

(note: joke video)

Burt Stuntin (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 28 January 2014 19:02 (ten years ago) link

that looks like a pendleton

the late great, Tuesday, 28 January 2014 19:15 (ten years ago) link

looks heavy for a board shirt and there's something weird with the collar, but yeah pendleton is it to first order

caek, Tuesday, 28 January 2014 19:26 (ten years ago) link

Hmm. I dug around on the net and found some ladies pendletons from the 60s with patterns sort of like that, but could not find something close to that for men

Burt Stuntin (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 28 January 2014 20:05 (ten years ago) link

collar looks like it might have a rear button

Burt Stuntin (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 28 January 2014 20:05 (ten years ago) link

something like this

http://www.etsy.com/listing/165700661/1970s-heavy-wool-plaid-shirt-jacket-red?ref=market

the late great, Tuesday, 28 January 2014 20:11 (ten years ago) link

that's sort of it, but the squares appear to be larger and have a defined outline.

Burt Stuntin (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 28 January 2014 20:12 (ten years ago) link

i don't think it will be too hard to find something like that with a little digging

the late great, Tuesday, 28 January 2014 20:15 (ten years ago) link

yeah woolrich's patterns seem closer

Burt Stuntin (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 28 January 2014 20:16 (ten years ago) link
