i'm pretty sure I've owned at least one pair of vans and one of chuck taylors continuously since 1987

i never wear vans out and about because i feel like it pushes me over the line to 'washed up skateboard dad trying too hard' but they're the best shoes on spikey platform bike pedals

not sure if those are the exact ones, that red is rose wood but the ones you posted might be apple butter

OR they might just look like apple butter in the photo cause there doesnt seem to be apple butter with the gum soles, or they could be another color idk

I for one love the styling. Love the feel. But they really have an arrogant boomer thing about them. Extremely white-guy. Nevertheless lately I've been tempted to get a pair, haven't had a 99x in about 15 yrs.
