Speaking of nice Chucks on sale.. bunch of nice-looking low top 70s here. If they had the Blue Slates in my size I'd jump on them in a second.

I went through a chucks, gola and onituska phase but my feet are just getting so flat that I think I need to go back to adidas or pumas. It is so hard to find nylon 70s, 80s aesthetic sneakers right now! I saw some nylon-y Adidas when I was on vacation but of course they didn't have them small enough for me. I think they are called City V Racer 2.0 and now I can't find the colors I want online (grey with red/orange stripes, or blue with red). Sneakers for just women are so shitty.

man, every time i see those balenciaga sneakers all i can think about is that they are the ugliest sneaker i have ever seen in my life, and then i try to figure out if that is the point. after all, ugliest of all time is itself a feat? man they look like shit tho

I much prefer the totally minimal unbranded look as far as styles you have to pay a premium for.

when someone posted the "sneakers worn by sv millionaires" article i got to thinking just how boring i found that aesthetic to be. sneaker culture has a rich history with established forms silhouettes and colorways and part of the fun is mixing matching and playing with the established visual language. the lanvins common projects and golden goose all just look like generic shoes without much personality in and of themselves. that being said though, if i were a millionaire i would totally have some lanvins and cps in my closet

not 100% sure because i'm not super familiar with those brands ... my sense is that it's a bit like rugged casual but also somewhat more "old-timey" than rugged casual? and maybe a little, uh, softer than the full-on heritage look? do i have that right?

my own wardrobe runs toward the preppy side of the workwear look (engineered garments, arpenteur, orslow, real mccoy's, battenwear, gitman, polo, levis, various heritage brands like dehen and brooks brothers) with a smidgen of streetwear mixed in (stussy, supreme, carhartt, nsw)

so i think the answer is yes, i do like that stuff, but personally i err on the more understated side of that look
