Daniel Johns Hopkins (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:16 (eight years ago)

i am fascinated by this skinny jnco/gansey sweater combo

https://yarnoverdotme.files.wordpress.com/2018/04/daniel-day-lewis-gansey-sweater.jpg

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:16 (eight years ago)

xp are you using jnco as a term for dropped crotch and somewhat broader legs? because... jncos have other very distinctive features

mh, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:26 (eight years ago)

no i'm talking about

http://i.pinimg.com/564x/43/24/86/432486bf27486fae3fc6ab5bb29ccc15.jpg

the late great, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:28 (eight years ago)

no the contrast triple stitching, but on further image searching i learn that was not a jnco thing and i apologise.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:28 (eight years ago)

cross post to WSOS

the late great, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:29 (eight years ago)

oh you were talking to caek

the late great, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:29 (eight years ago)

but i did say "skinny jnco"

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:29 (eight years ago)

I'm fine with contrast stitching in small doses, but as soon as you get super complex patterns on the back pockets I'm out

those look almost like a g-star design on DDL, but they may have moved on completely by now

mh, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:32 (eight years ago)

ha i meant to post that pic on the str8 fire kix thread!

two separate jnco conversations today!

the late great, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:34 (eight years ago)

i guess true religion is the denim brand most associated with (white) contrast stitching

truly we are living in a jnco world

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 19:35 (eight years ago)

man ive noticed this calling sweatshirts sweaters situation increasing recently and just have to say what the heckin hell

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:31 (eight years ago)

sweaters are knitwear, sweatshirts are made from a cotton and/or acrylic jersey type fabric

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:33 (eight years ago)

like u know what sweatpants are right, u dont call them sweaterpants im assuming

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:34 (eight years ago)

u draws 2 tight

thots and players (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:36 (eight years ago)

another poster who doesnt know what a damn sweater is i see

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:39 (eight years ago)

technically jersey is knit too tho

:-p

the late great, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:41 (eight years ago)

do we have to do we really have to use the microscope

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:44 (eight years ago)

surely no one under age 55 is saying this. sounds like such a mom thing

thots and players (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:47 (eight years ago)

the millennials are saying it, they dont care if society lives or dies

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:48 (eight years ago)

not totally kidding here, if no one actually wears sweaters anymore, then maybe it makes sense to use it in place of sweatshirt rather than lose it

thots and players (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:51 (eight years ago)

also I don't believe you because it's not Earl Sweater

thots and players (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:52 (eight years ago)

ppl wear sweaters! i just recommended a reasonably priced lambswool sweater from the major retailer uniqlo

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 20:52 (eight years ago)

I saw "people don't wear sweaters" and thought, damn, are you denying caek everything in this world

people wear all kinds of sweaters, some over dress shirts

mh, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 21:38 (eight years ago)

and a fine specimen it was! a fine sweater indeed xp

thots and players (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 21:42 (eight years ago)

i think the velva sheen classic crew neck sweatshirt is nicer than the ball park and its like 60% of the price. i own one in each of black, navy and heather grey

this is my style for s/s 18:

this thread is very confusing to me tho

i have this sweatshirt except it doesnt say usa on it and its prob technically a different sweatshirt

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 21:57 (eight years ago)

thats a cool sweatshirt but maybe replace the word COLORADO (only medium) with ONLINE (very good)

(° . ° )― (Lamp), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 22:00 (eight years ago)

COLORADO
ONLINE
UNIVERSITY
WEED

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 22:01 (eight years ago)

i think ive recommended them like 25 times itt but alternative apparel makes a good crewneck sweatshirt called "the champ" that u cn get for like $25

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 22:01 (eight years ago)

i bought a couple of those velva sheen ones mentioned by lamp at the very same time i bought my real mccoys sweatshirts and they were really, really nice! i kept the mccoys and returned the velva sheens though because i thought the mccoys were more substantial and the fit was more flattering to me (boxier)

btw that was eight years ago, people still ask me if my mccoys sweatshirts are new when i wear them.

the late great, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 22:07 (eight years ago)

i wear alternative apparel sweatshirts at home (thank u joe)

woody > myers although I can't figure out what's even going on with those pants. 12" fly?

k bups (rip van wanko), Friday, 4 May 2018 19:09 (eight years ago)

i believe "jnco" is what's going on with those trousers

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Friday, 4 May 2018 19:22 (eight years ago)

also "jnkie" quite possibly

k bups (rip van wanko), Friday, 4 May 2018 19:24 (eight years ago)

i like woody's shirt ok but would prefer white buttons + a more restrained collar and would not unbutton so much

the late great, Friday, 4 May 2018 19:40 (eight years ago)

urine stain nagl tho

F# A# (∞), Friday, 4 May 2018 19:42 (eight years ago)

do double breasted suits ever work?

the late great, Friday, 4 May 2018 19:42 (eight years ago)

yes but they definitely make a statement

chinavision!, Friday, 4 May 2018 19:51 (eight years ago)

is that steven weber over woody's shoulder?

Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Friday, 4 May 2018 20:36 (eight years ago)

Failing at oxford bags is what’s happening. This is how they work

Id love wider legged trouser, maybe not that wide, to come back into fashion, especially for suit. I’m sick of tapered leg and the wide leg can be a good look.

American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Friday, 4 May 2018 21:03 (eight years ago)

wow ... learned something today

the late great, Friday, 4 May 2018 21:08 (eight years ago)

i like a wide leg but not a wide bottom/cuff/hem

ogmor, Friday, 4 May 2018 21:16 (eight years ago)

meyers' suit not double breasted?

flopson, Friday, 4 May 2018 21:24 (eight years ago)

oh you're right
