I've never contoured before and I don't even have a blender sponge but it is on my list for this year for fun. And I really want 1-2 lace front wigs. This may also be because I never had a barbie makeup styling head which I always wanted.

went to sephora & bought myself some presents- Urban Decay Heavy Metal eyeliner: Catcall- Urban Decay Vice lipstick: Wrath, metallicized - must be like my 97th red lipstick lol also snuck over to MAC - Frost lipstick: Plum Dandy The almondy flavor of Mac makes me v nostalgic. Mac was the first non-drugstore lipstick I ever bought <3 I am craving frosted metallic lipsticks rn, like the old Cutex line from the 80’s but it is slim pickings, everyone is matte matte matte.I don’t mind a matte but they just feel so boring to me idk
― Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 15 April 2018 20:25 (eight years ago)
i'm not into matte either but they look really good on some people (people who aren't me)my favorite metallic iipstick is a coppery Urban Decay shade called CONSPIRACY and second favorite is a very weird iridescent light purple called PALLOR that really makes me look like a corpse...in a good way?

I think the only makeup person I follow these days is Katie Jane Huges on IG. She doesn't do tutorials but I've definitely gotten inspo from her and one of the reasons she's great is that she makes of point of saying often how skin should look like skin. https://www.instagram.com/katiejanehughes/?hl=en
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Tuesday, 17 April 2018 14:06 (eight years ago)
(And by that I mean that she's into showing that skin has lines and pores and texture and never edits any of that out.)
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Tuesday, 17 April 2018 14:08 (eight years ago)
I am slowly making my way through the other youtubers listed above but wow for the KJH ig. I love her style.
― Yerac, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 14:37 (eight years ago)
The first thing I thought of when I opened her ig page was "she looks like she gets enough sleep and drinks a lot of water."
― Yerac, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 14:38 (eight years ago)
:) I love her style too and want to be friends with her. She's who I meant a while back when I mentioned that I did a glossy purple eye thing inspired by her and tagged her in it and she wrote me back saying it was very pretty. A lot of the stuff she does is very editorial but yet her glossy/natural skin makes it seem wearable somehow. Most of her stuff is still way more makeup than I ever wear but she's definitely given me a lot of ideas. Also, her stories are full of good skin care info.
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Tuesday, 17 April 2018 14:48 (eight years ago)
Her eyeshadows are beautiful. For some reason I assumed everyone was doing some version of kardashian and that seems fun to do once or twice but I think I would look really kabuki.
― Yerac, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 16:27 (eight years ago)
i've been using my foundation for around the eyes which i feel is not the best (it may even be terrible?)gonna have to research undereye concealers for the first time soon weeee
― surm, Wednesday, 18 April 2018 16:14 (eight years ago)
I need to practice with eyeliner. I was watching some of these videos and I realize I have been doing my eyeliner all wrong. I do get now that as you get older the skin changes and you have to constantly upgrade your technique. I think I just get too impatient and want to pull on my eye instead of using shorter strokes to go over any folds.
― Yerac, Friday, 20 April 2018 12:45 (eight years ago)
omg i never pulled. the line always landed a millimeter above my lashes.
― surm, Friday, 20 April 2018 14:32 (eight years ago)
I think because my eyes are a bit hooded. And I need to get a mirror so I can look down while I do it. That seems to be key.
― Yerac, Friday, 20 April 2018 14:39 (eight years ago)
So I've always thought this too but according to KJH and others the key to lining hooded eyes well is to look straight ahead which is harder than it sounds.
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Friday, 20 April 2018 14:58 (eight years ago)
I was trying to look straight ahead but then I was raising my eyebrows and tipping my head back. I was using a sephora pencil so maybe I would have more luck trying this out with liquid where I don't have to press as much. I usually use that Kat Von D tattoo liner for a winged look, but again I pull on my eye (now I feel bad about that). KJH was saying 10 minutes for a really good eyeliner. That is going to raise my maximum time by 5xs, but I should work on it.
― Yerac, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:05 (eight years ago)
oh man i always do the pull. its the only way i can get a good line.
― Right column Leftist (sunny successor), Friday, 20 April 2018 15:23 (eight years ago)
That's how I feel too. But I guess it makes sense that you want the eyeliner to look good/not disappear when you are staring straight ahead and neutral and not while the skin is pulled.
― Yerac, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:27 (eight years ago)
and yours are good! i'm impressed xp
― surm, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:28 (eight years ago)
I've always used liquid liner, never pencil! Not a pencil fan for the cateye/wings although I appreciate the slightly softer smokey line it offers. Liquid is hard to get perfect, admittedly. My preference is for a really thin and long brush like https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTBN2j22oZ3ZNX2yA3QTjuv0jWbRQA8V2qhW6GULDz4QdXkAq_VHQ
― Conic section rebellion 44 (in orbit), Friday, 20 April 2018 15:33 (eight years ago)
oh yeah i meant liquid when i said i pull my lids out to get a straight line
― Right column Leftist (sunny successor), Friday, 20 April 2018 15:36 (eight years ago)
i rarely use pencil liner. if i want a softer look i use eyeshadow like its a liner if that makes sense
― Right column Leftist (sunny successor), Friday, 20 April 2018 15:38 (eight years ago)
I rarely use liquid but did today and I'm loving it.
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Friday, 20 April 2018 15:41 (eight years ago)
i need to start doing that^^ works well for guys.
in awe of anyone who can so much as hold a liquid pen. it's like the martini of makeup.
― surm, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:41 (eight years ago)
(doing that meaning shadow)
I've never had good luck with the brush (I like felt tip) but maybe I was using a bad formula. I think it was too wet, so it would travel to my upper lid when I blinked during application.
I use a soft pencil for the day/work, I used to use wet eyeshadow but I think I needed to go towards something waterproof.
― Yerac, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:44 (eight years ago)
I had suck good luck with the Kat Von D felt tip that I am leery to try another. But I like all those metallic liquid eyeliners now.
― Yerac, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:46 (eight years ago)
suck-such obv
Heading to Sephora tonight to take advantage of the VIB sale and i too like the felt tip kind so I'm going to maybe try the KVD.
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Friday, 20 April 2018 15:51 (eight years ago)
Loooool I got my first Birchbox yesterday and one of the products was a liquid eyeliner- I had a go and OMG WHAT A MESS
I seriously look like a 4 yr old did my makeup whenever I attempt eyeliner. Doesn’t help that I have very hooded eyes
― just1n3, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:51 (eight years ago)
Actually, I think I have the ink liner and not the tattoo liner.
I was looking at the website and was disappointed that sephora doesn't have glossier or lorac.
― Yerac, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:52 (eight years ago)
Ulta has Lorac but I think Glossier is only available through their site.
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Friday, 20 April 2018 15:54 (eight years ago)
xpost The hooded eye thing is a bitch. The below is the Alexa Chung video that finally had me get liquid eyeliner right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2D7RtPEVwI
Thanks!
― Yerac, Friday, 20 April 2018 15:56 (eight years ago)
The sot of crease part of my hood comes down past the corner of my eye so trying to wing eyeliner is just impossible. I’ve watched plenty of tutorials and still can’t make it work. Last night I ended up with massive messy triangles on my eyes.
― just1n3, Friday, 20 April 2018 16:39 (eight years ago)
doing my eyeliner is by far the most time-consuming part of my makeup! I use a soft ish pencil but the fine wrinkles make it impossible to get a smooth thin line. sometimes I go over it with a pen liner like Stila or Eyeko. Pen liner alone though still suffers from the same wrinkle problem.
― kinder, Friday, 20 April 2018 19:02 (eight years ago)
I get the wrinkling problem too
― just1n3, Friday, 20 April 2018 19:03 (eight years ago)
mine are hooded too. and my lashes are quite fair so it looks weird if I don't get the eyeliner right up to the base of the lashes. maybe I should tint my lashes :/
― kinder, Friday, 20 April 2018 19:05 (eight years ago)
I have a Stila felt-tip eyeliner that I love, I use it every day & it doesnt budge & is easy to control btw thin & thick lines etc
― Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 20 April 2018 19:15 (eight years ago)
this is the one:https://m.sephora.com/product/stay-all-day-waterproof-liquid-eye-liner-P253818
― Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 20 April 2018 19:18 (eight years ago)
I have that, but it's a bit old and flakey so I should replace it!
― kinder, Friday, 20 April 2018 19:34 (eight years ago)
This is pretty funny. That Kat Von D tattoo liner has a bunch of reviews of people who had serious accidents and the eyeliner looked fine (it is seriously really good). *warning some blood*

― Yerac, Wednesday, 25 April 2018 18:41 (eight years ago)
And I now realize it's not a felt tip but a brush, which may be why it seems easier to work with.
― Yerac, Wednesday, 25 April 2018 18:43 (eight years ago)
yeah I have terrible trouble with felt-tips. Brushes all the way for me.
― Right column Leftist (sunny successor), Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:43 (eight years ago)
I keep looking at these pics of the Crayola make-up line. Who's ordering?
― Yerac, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 23:10 (eight years ago)
it looks super fun!
― Heavy Messages (jed_), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 23:13 (eight years ago)
I think I am going to do one of the palettes, a highlighter, a mascara and one of the face crayons.
― Yerac, Wednesday, 6 June 2018 00:49 (eight years ago)
Oh these are so neat!
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Wednesday, 6 June 2018 17:16 (eight years ago)
this may be slightly off topic but hoping for some advice on facial cream
I have dry skin in general and a couple of months ago bought some cream because my face was getting... very dry. I ended up with a very fancy (and very small) bottle of french cream which I believe contained water from some enchanted spring https://www.avene.co.uk/face/products-for-daily-use/face-essentials/hydrance-intense-serum
It worked very well but it was also quite costly (30 euros!)
bottle is now empty and I'm wondering if it's likely I'll find a product with similar effects for less money or if I'm better off shelling out for one of these again
any advice appreciated
― niels, Tuesday, 12 June 2018 09:30 (seven years ago)
Looks like their trademarked ingredient Cohederm does the same thing as hyaluronic acid (grabs water and keeps it there, making your skin plump and hydrated) so I’d look for something which contains that. I like Vichy Aqualia serum, don’t know how much it costs where you are.
― Madchen, Tuesday, 12 June 2018 13:08 (seven years ago)
thanks, I'll try that!
― niels, Tuesday, 12 June 2018 13:36 (seven years ago)
I'm in a permanent search for a mascara that I love ever since Fresh discontinued their Supernova mascara. All else is inferior.

What else is very conditioning and goes on like silk but doesn't flake or rub off?
