i have actually grown to like birkenstocks a lot and i believe i have posted about my love for bostons in taupe suede

would love to go full rugged casual someday and pair some birkenstock arizonas with some fancy anonymous-ism mix socks but i don't have nice socks in my budget

i wear mine with pastel socks. it looks bad/good.

I liked Gold Toes back in the day when the navy cotton scrunchy sock was 100% cotton. Now it is a blend and it can get itchy after a long day.

Sweater vests look weird to me without another layer on top. It looks off balance or something, or like something's missing.

like the vest aspect is meant to be functional, but not revealed. it's just supposed to be a sweater that secretly leaves your arms freer.

I have an extremely strong and I suppose irrational hatred of sweater vests. in the pantheon of hated sleeveless garments they are much worse than wife beaters (which really I just can't pull off) but not quite as bad as gilets. I had a new manager start once who was a bit of a prick and always wore navy or grey sweater vests and that cemented it, he just seemed perverse. years after I left he has mellowed a lot, got a better haircut, little beard and dresses much better and when we've spoken we've gotten on v well. no sweater vests anymore obv
