there was a point in the 90s where looney tunes had their own storefront and had lots of clothing for adults, some of it understated stuff and not just t-shirts with the tasmanian devil proclaiming he's so badass

but hugh grant's is imo the only one of those looks that would have been at least fine and not dated every year between 1990 and now. it's a bad look but it is timeless.

I haven't bought new t-shirts in like a couple years or so -- what do you guys like nowadays as far as basic and/or graphic tees?

ymmv as far as sizing and whatever, but the uniqlo supima cotton ones are pretty nice

i've been really into benetton v-neck tees for the last couple of years, really nice feel, thin fabric, i usually get a size smaller than i otherwise would.

j crew garment-dyed. lil pricey but i buy either on sale or from the factory

their standard "broken-in" ones have declined in quality a little bit, the garment-dyed ones are nice though

oh yeah, had luck with those j crew tees

for graphic tees, i'm feeling hanes beefy-ts again. but then again my fashion mantra lately is 'baggy is beautiful' so you know

I bought a three-pack of those AA t shirts in 2008, two of them are still in weekly rotation even though they are developing pinholes around the collar (i wear them under buttoned-up dress shirts)

i bought another three-pack around 2014 and those still look basically new

excited to buy another three-pack in 2020 and see whether being bought by gildan has affected the quality (i'm assuming no?)

Oh yeah, i remember I had an AA t-shirt that I kept in heavy rotation for like 5-6 years. I'd get compliments on it even though it was basically just a solid color t-shirt (sort of heathered burgundy with a subtle purple undertone).

i need a sweatshirt

criteria:

-100% Cotton
-Black
-set in sleeve (not raglan)
-no large neckholes
-reasonably budget priced (max, maybe 30/40 £s)

Uniqlo which is my usual basics supplier failed on two counts (raglan, big wide neckhole), any better suggestions? neckhole more important than sleeve type, but i'm not big on raglan sleeves for sweatshirts

After a long time not buying graphic tees at all I sometimes sort of want to buy one, but I find it challenging as a 38-yo dad. I'm so completely out of touch with the semiotics of today's t-shirt graphics. Who knows what kind of message I might be inadvertently sending to the world if I buy the wrong tee?
