Always had a pair

infinity (∞), Saturday, 20 January 2018 01:57 (eight years ago)

the OG hi-tops have never gone OOS and the slip-on comeback seems like at least 10 years ago??

trife's rich padgett (rip van wanko), Saturday, 20 January 2018 03:49 (eight years ago)

vans are always relevant

Number None, Saturday, 20 January 2018 08:18 (eight years ago)

i just wanted to share a fashion win with yall. got a pair of danner hiking boots for the winter and i've never gotten so many compliments (and stares from fashion people). the red laces are key imo

scoff walker (diamonddave85), Saturday, 20 January 2018 18:49 (eight years ago)

vans look classic imo and always have but fuck they are really shitty shoes

marcos, Saturday, 20 January 2018 18:55 (eight years ago)

I can't wear them for even 20 minutes without my feet hurting

marcos, Saturday, 20 January 2018 18:56 (eight years ago)

the styles with actual cushioning are ok but all the classic styles are basically as comfortable as chucks and just as back-breaking

I'm still mildly fuming that my favorite pair was thrown out by my mom when I was home visiting from college because they were all broken down. Never really bought another pair after that, but she was in the right -- they were busted, I was strolling around in them for sentimental reasons

mh, Saturday, 20 January 2018 18:59 (eight years ago)

man wilt chamberlain played in chucks u all orthopedic ass grandma feet having soft bois

lag∞n, Saturday, 20 January 2018 19:13 (eight years ago)

wilt chamberlain retired from basketball when he was my age, buddy

makes u think

mh, Saturday, 20 January 2018 19:20 (eight years ago)

what is it supposed to make me think

lag∞n, Saturday, 20 January 2018 19:24 (eight years ago)

anyway just because some shoes may make your feet hurt doesnt make them bad shoes many many people have successfully worn vans/chucks/etc without dying and in fact many people including researchers and various experts consider that type of simple shoe to be better than fancy technological ones that wrap yr feed in a plush cocoon

lag∞n, Saturday, 20 January 2018 20:06 (eight years ago)

also 38 is an advanced age to retire from basketball, in fact if wilt were playing at that age today it wld put him in the top 5 of active players

lag∞n, Saturday, 20 January 2018 20:10 (eight years ago)

u thought too much

mh, Saturday, 20 January 2018 20:13 (eight years ago)

i actually didnt think at all because i already knew all that stuff its call knowledge about shoes and the nba look into it

lag∞n, Saturday, 20 January 2018 20:15 (eight years ago)

Joe are you wearing vibrams right now y/n?

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:15 (eight years ago)

i dont have to i already have toes

lag∞n, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:15 (eight years ago)

i have a lot of trouble wearing vans too but lagoon otm

not every good shoe is for everyone

(see also all other articles of clothing)

the late great, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:37 (eight years ago)

xo to diamonddave those danners are terrific, always sad i don’t live in a boot wearing place when i see danners

the late great, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:38 (eight years ago)

otoh one pair of vans I had, the sole started separating from the fabric after a couple weeks of wear

that is kind of an actually shitty shoe

mh, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:41 (eight years ago)

maybe you’re walking wrong did you consider that

the late great, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:43 (eight years ago)

I think I was walking in skate shoes, my bad

mh, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:45 (eight years ago)

what is sad to me is that apparently i walk wrong too because that always happens to my beloved stans and nike tennis classics within a year of daily wear

i can get them restitched a couple of times because they’re leather but i’ve had three pairs of these real nice “tournament edition” stan smiths last me for like ten years now and i wish they made all sneakers like that

the late great, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:46 (eight years ago)

vans chucks etc are inexpensive cloth shoes theyre not gonna last forever but i usually buy a new pair of vans every summer and wear them almost every day and theyre plenty durable to go through a season+ and u can totally trash them throw them in the wash go on a hike in them fn whatever you want just living the vans life

lag∞n, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:50 (eight years ago)

fuck socks fuck rules rt if u agree

lag∞n, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:50 (eight years ago)

I think wearing any athletic shoe daily for a whole year is gonna wear em out unless you’re not moving around much?

for insane running people there’s some number of hours/number of miles metric and I kept thinking that buying cheap running shoes sounds smart

mh, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:52 (eight years ago)

I think we’re all on the same page now cool

mh, Saturday, 20 January 2018 21:53 (eight years ago)

I dunno maybe it's different in the UK but I've not really seen anyone other than emos wearing vans since the late 90s

Badgers (dog latin), Sunday, 21 January 2018 15:03 (eight years ago)

some good looks here https://www.gq.com/gallery/incredible-90s-airport-style

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Monday, 22 January 2018 16:41 (eight years ago)

woody harrelsons is nice

lag∞n, Monday, 22 January 2018 16:44 (eight years ago)

omg the clooney dark blue dyed jeans, white tee and short bangs haircut look, that is like *the* defining look of my mid 90s memories -- jr high/early high school. Typically purchased from Structure.

IF (Terrorist) Yes, Explain (man alive), Monday, 22 January 2018 16:45 (eight years ago)

looks kind of dumb on an adult though

IF (Terrorist) Yes, Explain (man alive), Monday, 22 January 2018 16:45 (eight years ago)

lots of good looks in that slideshow

also proof that brad pitt has always been a simpleton

marcos, Monday, 22 January 2018 16:58 (eight years ago)

also i .... kind of like andy garcia's look?

marcos, Monday, 22 January 2018 17:00 (eight years ago)

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Monday, 22 January 2018 17:11 (eight years ago)

yeah, apart from the hair he looks the best.

i think christian slaters trousers would look good on chinavision

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Monday, 22 January 2018 17:26 (eight years ago)

chinavision!, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 02:57 (eight years ago)

chinavision!, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 02:59 (eight years ago)

and kevin bacon yeesh

chinavision!, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 03:00 (eight years ago)

late xp to diamonddave: u get a fashion thumbsup from me

flopson, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 03:48 (eight years ago)

is kevin bacon wearing a looney tunes tie?

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 04:18 (eight years ago)

there was a point in the 90s where looney tunes had their own storefront and had lots of clothing for adults, some of it understated stuff and not just t-shirts with the tasmanian devil proclaiming he's so badass

this made little sense then and now I feel a fool for typing it

mh, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 15:29 (eight years ago)

actually struck by how kiddult a lot of them look, esp considering that's supposedly a hallmark of our time

IF (Terrorist) Yes, Explain (man alive), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 15:30 (eight years ago)

guy at work still wears his looney tunes tie

and ya most of these looks are not good

infinity (∞), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 17:38 (eight years ago)
