i could never really hang w/ the skinny fit

closest I get is a pair of pants that is an inch too small in the waist but fits relatively OK there, just makes putting things in my pockets tricky

i got a seriously BADASS pair of raw 501s last week. i'm fucking smooth

actually came here to ask about jeans. rebelled against skinny for years and only really got the hang of them a few years ago. now looks like they're on their way out. kind of interested in what sort of fit will work best now. big baggy late-90s jeans, i'm guessing aren't really a thing, but maybe wider-legged, high waist, slightly cropped jeans are in? where do you even start? problem with jeans (like shirts) is that you can't really tell how they'll fit till you try them on

this is my current style of jeans. feels nice to get away from slim fitting and dark blue/black jeans (though mine are currently ripped and i need to take them to get fixed and am wearing black slim cut jeans again blah)

i wear slim to skinny jeans - don't really think well-fitting jeans are on the way out. i'm fairly short and have skinny legs, anything baggy or non-slim looks ridiculous.

i think jeans/trousers that fit fairly close won't go away, even if huge baggy trousers or wide legs are a catwalk thing.

i'm interested in fashion trends but not to the point that i'll wear a style of trouser i know looks fucking dumb on me.

i found a few pairs of faded black 501s that i am really digging

also yea you don't have to go to baggy or wide-legged if you are tired of a skinny fit. just go w/ a regular straight fit like a 501, they feel nice and tidy without being too tight or too loose

i've been wearing tapered leg so long that 501s feel like bell bottoms to me. i'm hoping boot season will help change that

ya i grew up along the north american west coast and me and my friends/family have pretty much always had a pair of vans

my go to were usu the slip ons. my friend is in his mid 30s and he still wears checkered vans and his baseball cap with the bill flipped upwards (like kids used to do in the 80s/early 90s)

there used to be a vans store by where i grew up that would make you a pair of vans from whatever fabric you brought in

My brother is 47 and wears checkered vans and I love it. But my wife vetoed me on the checks.

BTW, like so many shoe companies these days, you can make custom Vans.

So I think I finally figured out my ideal Levi's fit -- 502s. It's similar to a 501 but tapered, so I get the slim profile without feeling like I'm wearing tights (have big thighs and calves).
