uniqlo socks are reasonable

word of warning: uniqlo are one size and run a bit big on me (uk size 9)

I do uniqlo all the time, but their socks are just a bit shorter than I'd like, and they shrink too much in the wash.

still on the pricey side, though a little cheaper than happy socks if you do the 7-pack.

also i think they're the only underwear i like to buy anymore bcz they are inexpensive, comfortable, and durable, and CUTE on top of all of that!!!!

if I wash them a few times I run the risk of showing skin when I sit down, which is the worst look of all imo

idk if you need actual dress socks, goldtoe makes a decent one, at least the last time I bought them

pants meet the shoes with either no break, half break, or full break.

with any of those, potential problems with uniqlo socks. need over the calf.

never more than full break though fyi

picked up zegna cashmere jacket today, along with made in italy rl polo suit, and a nice tie and polo shorts.

so I'm on the shorts train. wearing them now and really feeling nice

what is more than full break, like the sock somehow shows part of the foot the shoe covers through some sort of shoe-obscuring tech

i mean, i think uniqlo socks do feel a little thin, i'd like to buy better quality black socks at some stage but in as a budget option i think they're pretty good. I also sometimes eye the socks at muji but haven't bought them. I tend to be pretty rigidly monotheist with these sort of purchases, so t shirts and socks are all uniqlo, underpants are all m&s, etc.

Are you guys ready for this?

I get almost all my socks from Lands End.

Winter socks are a different story though

sorry full break just means how long the pants are... if they're long enough to sort of fully meet the shoe and kind of produce a deep wrinkle that's a full break. if they just meet the shoe exactly that's no break. half is... in between.

just saying that with anything in that spectrum, I need somewhat longish socks when I sit, because the hem of the pants rises up quite a bit. it's why I was looking at those over the calf socks. haven't bought them though.

- slimmer cut
- can be obtained for <$50

I have enjoyed Uniqlo but the Express "slim cut" Finn didn't feel very slim to me.

find it almost impossible to find nice non-denim trousers, besides sweatpants.

Just ordered some t-shirts online. The downside of losing a stone since winter is that I'm no longer sure whether I'm medium or large any more (it seems arbitrary from brand to brand). Ended up having to take back the last bunch I bought because they felt tent-like, so I'm having to order everything twice and send some back *humblebrag*

v much a 50/50 hit rate with ordering clothes online, which means unless i've actually been to a shop and tried on the brand, made note of sizes, i don't do it any more.

did buy some meermin dark brown suede shoes, which i love and are great... except they're ever so slightly too small. relying on them relaxing a bit, but even then they'll probably still be on the tighter end of "glove-like".

going on summer holiday in a month. my new girly took one look at my brown leather sandals and said I should NOT bring them. I think they're alright really, I mean what else are you supposed to wear in hot countries when you're at the beach? surely flip-flops/thongs/Havaianas are infinitely worse non?
