dog latin

o totally

its v difficult to get tshirts that look good *and* fit well

i never liked solid colored tshirts, always preferred slightly worn or faded, so that always added another element of difficulty

F♯ A♯ (∞), Thursday, 23 March 2017 19:32 (nine years ago)

also texture/feel has to be right

F♯ A♯ (∞), Thursday, 23 March 2017 19:33 (nine years ago)

american apparel fine cotton jersey crew necks are the best t-shirts. i bought like 50 of them when they went out of business because i love them so much.

( ^_^) (Lamp), Thursday, 23 March 2017 21:02 (nine years ago)

yes lamp you are correct

I would have liked to do the same but I waited too long and now they are all gone :-(

maybe the brick and mortar still has a few ... guess I'd better get in this week

the late great, Thursday, 23 March 2017 21:08 (nine years ago)

i can vouch for the galleries lafayette own brand t-shirts. just my style. thin, soft cotton, fits me great, thin ring around the neck or whatever that's called.

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Thursday, 23 March 2017 22:26 (nine years ago)

american apparel never made a single garment that I didn't think was complete trash after a couple months of owning it. good riddance to a shitty company imo

marcos, Thursday, 23 March 2017 23:45 (nine years ago)

I had some ok shirts for sure

mh 😏, Thursday, 23 March 2017 23:45 (nine years ago)

i have a bunch of different colors of the regular cotton tshirts, a couple of the ringer tshirts, one of the fleece zip joggers, all pretty good. occasionally i'd get a tshirt that was a little wonky. i never trusted them on most other stuff, though.

should prob get rid of my long suffering long sleeve boat neck am ap white t, but it has served me v well

new fav is an oversized cos one with dropped shoulders, feels so great to move in, makes me want to dance

ogmor, Friday, 24 March 2017 09:20 (nine years ago)

oki-ni have gone into administration, as i found when i went to return something i'd bought recently - the email basically said that they were sorry they couldn't refund me as their parent company was in administration and that i should contact the administrators to ask them for one (i.e. no chance) thankfully it was a pair of sale reebok trainers not a £1300 rick owens sweatshirt or anything.

Heavy Doors (jed_), Friday, 24 March 2017 18:27 (nine years ago)

that sucks man

i wonder how many others they screwed over

F♯ A♯ (∞), Friday, 24 March 2017 18:36 (nine years ago)

i still have the trainers and I'll probably be able to ebay them for most of what i payed for them but, yeah, i'd be furious if i'd spent crazy dollars on their higher end stuff and couldn't return that.

"Sports Direct has a 25% stake in Four Marketing"

LOL!

Heavy Doors (jed_), Saturday, 25 March 2017 01:59 (nine years ago)

"oki-ni was recently bought by its original founders, and as part of the Four Marketing group we now enter an exciting period of transition."

so many words

Choco Blavatsky (seandalai), Saturday, 25 March 2017 02:44 (nine years ago)

"Four Marketing is an agency that represents 30-plus brands including Stone Island, CP Co., Paul & Shark and Velvet by Graham & Spencer."

not quite so special are we

Choco Blavatsky (seandalai), Saturday, 25 March 2017 02:46 (nine years ago)

To be clear - ok I in had a system whereby you had to request a refund through their website and thy'd give you a return number. Sometimes that was automatic and other times not. In this instance there's website just a customer services email, which is how I contacted them.

I nearly sent an angry response but figured that "Kate" was having a significantly worse time with this than I was. I guess I'd think differently if I was returning something very expensive.

Heavy Doors (jed_), Saturday, 25 March 2017 23:54 (nine years ago)

were they str8 fire beautiful kix ??

the late great, Saturday, 25 March 2017 23:56 (nine years ago)

oki-ni was crap before this, ime. i bought a couple of things last year and they never arrived, the delivery note just listed my block, with 100 addresses etc, and the delivery company couldn't confirm any number it went to. they tried to hold out on me for a decent long time, it was bad.

one of the items was majorly reduced acne studios white jeans tho, so perhaps their incompetence saved me from looking like johnny borrell

on one hand, fashion is cyclical and eats old things and tweaks them contextually to make sense in the current landscape

on the other hand, fuck no

a landlocked exclave (mh 😏), Wednesday, 5 April 2017 03:08 (nine years ago)

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 5 April 2017 06:58 (nine years ago)

re real jean jackets i think most type iii jackets are cut too slim and make me look worse than this poor guy

Yeah I like denim jackets but most of them are fucking tiny, not just slim but really short as well. I'm not rake thin and I tend to like a jacket that flows a bit more or is a bit more loose. ymmv obv.

I got one of engineered garments "dayton" shirt jacket things a few years back, in denim. It was about 180 pounds but the quality is amazing and improving with age. A lot of their stuff is a bit too workwear for me but I like it a lot. Can't find a pic. That's a v light summer denim jacket tho, not as thick as the classic ones.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 5 April 2017 08:08 (nine years ago)

never owned a denim jacket bc of prior lack of imagination but saw the error of my ways and have got half an eye out for something soft, loose and unboxy which I can roll up the sleeves on to raise my spring layer game. generally prefer a rich blue mid wash and think it's more versatile but am occasionally taken with a paler one like this jacket on this otherwise plainly dressed guy out of wu tiao ren https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C8kxXX9WAAY5mUJ.jpg

ogmor, Wednesday, 5 April 2017 12:01 (nine years ago)

thought i wanted a villefranche jacket for ages but i think maybe i don't, want something rougher

ogmor, Wednesday, 5 April 2017 12:06 (nine years ago)

i was thinking about this one but ordering a few sizes up because i also don't want a tiny tight denim jacket

I think I owned a Levi's denim jacket in every size from children's medium to adult medium during the mid 80s - early 90s

probably burned out my denim jacket receptors

a landlocked exclave (mh 😏), Wednesday, 5 April 2017 15:26 (nine years ago)

i have a jacket kind of like this from lol topman from 2 years ago. unfortunately it now has hella ventilation in one of the armpits. gotta figure out how to patch that if i am gonna wear it this spring :/

why ruin a good tradition? (Will M.), Thursday, 6 April 2017 03:12 (nine years ago)

i ordered that jacket in a few sizes to see what works

re that levis denim jacket it was not good

fit was terrible. i tried on a bunch of sizes and it didnt matter they are all too short and the sleeves too tight

marcos, Tuesday, 25 April 2017 14:53 (nine years ago)

yeah the tiny jacket thing is big now, idk

to be fashionable you must wear no fewer than three layers at all time

a landlocked exclave (mh), Tuesday, 25 April 2017 14:58 (nine years ago)

That's why I've worn undershirts every day since 1999
