does it do more than "stops me having to take my phone out my pocket to check the time or a text message"?

chinavision!, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:05 (nine years ago)

I agree with the above analysis

Activity tracker, quick way to log water intake, check bus arrival times, shopping list, find my wife, notifications, etc. mostly things that would be slightly more cumbersome to take my phone out to do. Bus times is especially useful because I can check arrival times on my watch while also carrying a toddler.

Jeff, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:07 (nine years ago)

I have no delusions that it is stylish though.

Jeff, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:08 (nine years ago)

find my wife

it has yet to find me a wife, but I hold out hope

F♯ A♯ (∞), Friday, 27 January 2017 20:12 (nine years ago)

apple devices have never been able to get that function right.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Friday, 27 January 2017 20:12 (nine years ago)

my watch

, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:31 (nine years ago)

people always make the "oh if you have a phone why do you need a watch" argument - i think it's stupid, checking yr watch is way faster/more convenient than pulling yr phone out yr pocket

i ordered some black 501s. they fit great but they are a little too black, uniformly so. previous black levis i've owned were a little pre-faded and weren't quite like these. how long does it take for a pair of jeans to fade? i want a little variation in the color throughout, right now they are so black that like any little fuzz or threads from other clothes or the carpet are totally visible

marcos, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 18:57 (nine years ago)

would washing them or soaking them do much?

marcos, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 18:58 (nine years ago)

also button fly is a little annoying tbh

marcos, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 18:58 (nine years ago)

button fly for lyfe

just another (diamonddave85), Wednesday, 1 February 2017 19:14 (nine years ago)

imo wearing black jeans while playing with small children or doing housework and then giving them a couple good washings gives you some color variation. you just need some kneeling/squatting/rolling around

mh 😏, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 19:20 (nine years ago)

yea that's what i was thinking. right now they barely even look like jeans, they are so black

marcos, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 19:25 (nine years ago)

lag∞n, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 19:58 (nine years ago)

jeans are a journey my friend

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 1 February 2017 20:25 (nine years ago)

i tend to like one black/grey faded kind of pair but equally i like a none more black pair of jeans for outfits of all black.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 1 February 2017 20:26 (nine years ago)

xp i know i'm impatient. tough to go from the two pairs of faded black levis i had that were awesome but starting to rip and become floppy after a few years to these things which basically feel like rough twill work pants, not broken-in denim

marcos, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 20:36 (nine years ago)

tracer OTM

the late great, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 21:38 (nine years ago)

@ lagoon i remember you said you have a bunch of black 501s - do you buy just the standard black ones or do you do the raw shrink-to-fit?

marcos, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 22:57 (nine years ago)

i just get the regular ones, tho dont wear them much reacetly

lag∞n, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 23:35 (nine years ago)

I'm seeing Todd Terje in a big club next weekend and it struck me that as it's been so long since I went to a big club night, I have literally no clue what to wear. my winter wardrobe is made up of extrafine woollen sweaters which are great at keeping the cold out, especially when worn with a form fitting t-shirt (which I wouldn't wear on its own). so this is obviously a ridiculous question but.. what do you wear when you go dancing??

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Tuesday, 7 February 2017 01:29 (nine years ago)

just a poncho

lag∞n, Tuesday, 7 February 2017 01:30 (nine years ago)

otm

mh 😏, Tuesday, 7 February 2017 01:48 (nine years ago)

last two nights I went out dancing I wore whatever I wore to the last day of the conference, and rolled up my sleeves

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 7 February 2017 01:49 (nine years ago)

actually last 3 nights! jesus I'm fired

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 7 February 2017 01:49 (nine years ago)

tbh big clubs are dark and you just wear whatever is comfortable because who cares what u look like

mh 😏, Tuesday, 7 February 2017 01:49 (nine years ago)

for real
