no you should tailor jeans

also iron a centre crease down the middle of each leg

Islamic State of Mind (jim in vancouver), Thursday, 19 January 2017 19:11 (nine years ago)

tbc I'm asking about shrinking to fit not tailoring, tailoring would just be shortening the legs a bit

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Thursday, 19 January 2017 19:12 (nine years ago)

i should correct that - you can certainly hem the legs but taking in the waist is a bad idea.

if you want to try to shrink them in hot water keep in mind they're not going to shrink much more than 1" in the waist and length, and that while some APC jeans will shrink, some APC jeans are sanforized and won't shrink. so make sure they're actually unsnaforized before you try to shrink them.

the late great, Thursday, 19 January 2017 19:13 (nine years ago)

also if you try to shrink them aggressively with hot water, the color is going to change

sell them on ebay

yea i think this is the last time i wore a watch too. it was a timex expedition, clunky green plastic watch w/ a leather and nylon strap.

I occasionally ebay a cheap manual watch or two. They're fun to wind!
I have one kinda like this that I got for about $30:

chinavision!, Friday, 27 January 2017 17:33 (nine years ago)

I can't stand it if I forget to wear a watch. Throws off my whole day.

chinavision!, Friday, 27 January 2017 17:34 (nine years ago)

where do u keep ur phone

F♯ A♯ (∞), Friday, 27 January 2017 18:37 (nine years ago)

I mean just cuz of muscle memory, dramatically looking at my wrist all the time

chinavision!, Friday, 27 January 2017 19:29 (nine years ago)

lifehack: get a tattoo on yr wrist that says "you are special"

lag∞n, Friday, 27 January 2017 19:30 (nine years ago)

find it mega unsettling forgetting my watch also, it's the absence of it on my arm, like the small weight on your wrist. also taking phone out of pocket is not as easy as checking a watch, and watches are cool.

ultimate low is an apple watch imo.

i only see apple watches on a couple of notable types and they're the types you want to run away screaming from

call all destroyer, Friday, 27 January 2017 19:48 (nine years ago)

I am special yeah, did you see that special watch I posted?

chinavision!, Friday, 27 January 2017 19:48 (nine years ago)

i only see apple watches on a couple of notable types and they're the types you want to run away screaming from

in my last job a lot of people were big apple fanatics and i could kind of forgive them i guess, but i still found the watches not partic pretty and seemingly useless. watching someone tap shit into a watch is like i dunno - watches are mostly jewellery.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Friday, 27 January 2017 19:52 (nine years ago)

I am the ultimate low.

Jeff, Friday, 27 January 2017 19:57 (nine years ago)

sorry jeff

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Friday, 27 January 2017 19:59 (nine years ago)

lol educate me please, what the hell do you do with that thing?

call all destroyer, Friday, 27 January 2017 19:59 (nine years ago)

does it do more than "stops me having to take my phone out my pocket to check the time or a text message"?

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Friday, 27 January 2017 20:02 (nine years ago)

I am also Jeff

mh 😏, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:03 (nine years ago)

guys anyone who wears a watch at all is actually bad

lag∞n, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:04 (nine years ago)

my dad walks around and says things to his wrist like this, "see you soon ... question mark ... smiley face"

chinavision!, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:05 (nine years ago)

I agree with the above analysis

Clay, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:05 (nine years ago)

I'm bad

chinavision!, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:05 (nine years ago)

never expected watches to divide us so bitterly

F♯ A♯ (∞), Friday, 27 January 2017 20:07 (nine years ago)

Activity tracker, quick way to log water intake, check bus arrival times, shopping list, find my wife, notifications, etc. mostly things that would be slightly more cumbersome to take my phone out to do. Bus times is especially useful because I can check arrival times on my watch while also carrying a toddler.

Jeff, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:07 (nine years ago)

I have no delusions that it is stylish though.

Jeff, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:08 (nine years ago)

find my wife

it has yet to find me a wife, but I hold out hope

mh 😏, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:11 (nine years ago)

Keep trying!

Jeff, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:11 (nine years ago)

have u asked it

lag∞n, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:11 (nine years ago)

is tinder not optimized for the apple watch?

F♯ A♯ (∞), Friday, 27 January 2017 20:12 (nine years ago)

apple devices have never been able to get that function right.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Friday, 27 January 2017 20:12 (nine years ago)

brb installing tinder on watch

mh 😏, Friday, 27 January 2017 20:13 (nine years ago)

people always make the "oh if you have a phone why do you need a watch" argument - i think it's stupid, checking yr watch is way faster/more convenient than pulling yr phone out yr pocket
