maybe paler brassy yellow -> OMG WHITE -> ahhhh blonde
― Bright Future (sunny successor), Monday, 29 September 2008 20:42 (seventeen years ago)
haha! i have never put henna on my head so i think i am safe. maybe i should try superblonde? i'm just scared to throw more bleach on top of my whole head but why not.
― the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 29 September 2008 20:51 (seventeen years ago)
just remember to grab a strand of your hair and tug on it every 5 or 10 min. you'll know if its still strong or if you need to get thst bleach out NOW.
― Bright Future (sunny successor), Monday, 29 September 2008 20:54 (seventeen years ago)
LAUREL holy shit you look HOT!!!!!
― Bright Future (sunny successor), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 00:47 (seventeen years ago)
I agree!
― Fr. Jemima Racktouey (ENBB), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 00:50 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah Laurel, that Veronica Lodge look really suits you!
― felicity, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 01:15 (seventeen years ago)
i remember seeing those pics some time ago and thinking how good it looked! i also really like that length on you!
― highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 01:17 (seventeen years ago)
I concur: I am surprised how much the dark hair suits Laurel.
Ally: I like you reddish-brown the best, but maybe that's just because that was your color when I met you, so I resist all deviations from that.
― Virginia Plain, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 04:48 (seventeen years ago)
i love blonde ally!
― highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 04:50 (seventeen years ago)
though i think she can pull off any color she wants!
i don't think the glaze did anything. my hair felt a bit coated after i washed it out, but there there doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference. and it stinks! it's got a really sweet, heavy, slightly floral fragrance.
― lauren, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 14:44 (seventeen years ago)
hmmm...weird. i shall steer clear. thanks!
― Bright Future (sunny successor), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 14:48 (seventeen years ago)
i'm going to try it as a postconditioning rinse a few times a week, i guess, and see if that does anything.
― lauren, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 14:51 (seventeen years ago)
oh what did you do before?
― Bright Future (sunny successor), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 15:14 (seventeen years ago)
i did it as a "treatment." you apply it to dry hair, leave it on for 20 minutes, then shampoo it out.
― lauren, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 15:16 (seventeen years ago)
after all of this blond talk i really want to bleach my hair! i'm having edie sedgwick fantasies. my friend in college would use manic panic's virgin snow, which is basically a toner - it takes out the yellow and makes your hair a really pretty, silvery white.
― lauren, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 15:22 (seventeen years ago)
I got fed up with the straw-feeling damage from the feria and yesterday impulsively got about 4" chopped off:

― Jaq, Thursday, 2 October 2008 19:32 (seventeen years ago)
it looks good! you know, i've used feria exactly once when it first came out and i could never do it again after what it did to me.
― the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 2 October 2008 19:57 (seventeen years ago)
hmmm i've had only good experience with feria - i used to use a lot of their reds. but i've stopped using permanent colour the last few times and now just use a semi: it fades out better and seems better for my hair condition.
― Sarah Palin isn't dumb, she's post-modern (Rubyredd), Thursday, 2 October 2008 20:01 (seventeen years ago)
yeah the cut looks great, Jaq, though I don't think I know what it looked like before. It's liberating, chopping off all the fried hair, isn't it? I <3 my Elumen dye so much, my hair always feels so soft and isn't nearly as damaged as it used to be in my bleached blonde days!
― Finefinemusic, Thursday, 2 October 2008 20:09 (seventeen years ago)
I have too much gray for level 2 color, RR. I may go for pro color next time; am thinking about getting some interim darker semi color done next week maybe. Just having it short again is liberating too finefine - it was as long as it's been in 30 years (just to shoulders, w/ grown-out long layers). Is the Elumen a salon brand?
― Jaq, Thursday, 2 October 2008 20:18 (seventeen years ago)
i'm feeling the need to cut great chunks of my hair off, too. hasn't been above my shoulders in a couple of years almost. right now it's just looking kinda manky and blah, and i think having it shorter would further enable my attempts to only wash alternate days.
― Sarah Palin isn't dumb, she's post-modern (Rubyredd), Thursday, 2 October 2008 20:20 (seventeen years ago)
Now that everyone and their mother has an angled bob I am particularly looking forward to getting a new haircut next week. BANGS!
If anyone has seen the latest Chanel ads in Vogue (the one with the brunette in the bicolored tights), that's the cut I'm going for.
― quincie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 20:54 (seventeen years ago)

Bad picture, but maybe you get the idea.
― quincie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 21:08 (seventeen years ago)
Oh and duh "the brunette" is none other than Claudia Schiffer!
i got my hair cut yesterday sort of like that, but no bangs
also i read that first as "claudia schefter" !! :)
― 76 yards into the wind! (daria-g), Friday, 3 October 2008 01:42 (seventeen years ago)
wow..claudia still rockin hotness
hey schef, i was in walmart yesterday buying dream blonde shade "glistening magnolia" (ie fuckin light blonde) and I noticed a dream blonde lightener/red banisher in a blue box. maybe that would do the trick?
― Bright Future (sunny successor), Friday, 3 October 2008 01:51 (seventeen years ago)
ooh interesting. quincie, i've done that cut before. it is fun! go for it! also, i have done angled bob on and off for 15 years and yeah, it is kind of annoying when it's suddenly popular and your cut feels not good anymore!
i am currently just below shoulders... i am at the make or break point of growing it out LONG or chopping again. for now, it is awkward, so i think i dye?
― highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Friday, 3 October 2008 07:03 (seventeen years ago)
you might as well give it another couple of inches before you chop it. you've put up with growing it out until now, so don't give up when the goal is in sight!
― lauren, Friday, 3 October 2008 14:17 (seventeen years ago)
i know! i have to keep reminding myself of that!
― highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Friday, 3 October 2008 14:18 (seventeen years ago)
it's totally hair-cutting season, eh
i haven't dealt with my hair for a very long time, months. somehow the colour grew out really well, but this week it hit the point where roots are looking reallly dark and just a bit beyond rocknroll to lameland and everybody who's used to me with lighter/blonder hair is suddenly whoa look at how dark your hair *really* is!!
i'm just gonna go get it cut and get my hairdresser to do whatever she feels is right re: colour. might just go back to dark hair with some highlights
i can't believe i'm now a person who cares abt colour in my hair
also: hi, i love style, i still <3 ui have been busy in a good way tho
― terminator boyfriend (rrrobyn), Friday, 3 October 2008 15:45 (seventeen years ago)
xxxpost to Jaq, yeah, Elumen is a salon brand. :)
― Finefinemusic, Friday, 3 October 2008 19:19 (seventeen years ago)
Comparisons made with my new haircut thus far: Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction, Anne Hathaway in Get Smart, Kate Blanchett (sp?) in the most recent Indiana Jones. So far I am quite happy with these comparisons.
Mr. Que was a bit put off, but he claims it is just because it looks so different. He's all "well it is like if I dyed my blue." Um, no it's nothing like that, actually.
― quincie, Thursday, 9 October 2008 15:50 (seventeen years ago)
Sounds great to me, Quincie! I always loved that haircut.
I am trying something new today.. wearing my bangs straight-across rather than parted on the side as I usually do. I have a pretty raging cowlick that prevents me from trying but this morning it just sort of clicked and my bangs allowed me to spread them across my forehead. I wish I had my camera so I could fish for opinions!
― mineminefusic (Finefinemusic), Thursday, 9 October 2008 16:09 (seventeen years ago)
Yay for new haircuts!
I found myself in Ulta on Monday where, lo and behold, they had plenty of Hydrience on the shelf! I bought all the boxes of my fave 42. So hopefully it is not gone forever, but maybe just not being carried by the places I used to be able to buy it.
― Jaq, Thursday, 9 October 2008 16:14 (seventeen years ago)

― quincie, Sunday, 12 October 2008 15:41 (seventeen years ago)
rrrobyn had an awesome hair-dying experience. then she went to thanksgiving dinner and got drunk. then she said we should all go to mtl for hair and robyn fulfillment, which sounds like a great excuse to go to mtl to me, and she thought that was cool.
― highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Sunday, 12 October 2008 15:48 (seventeen years ago)
b-b-but Thanksgiving is not until next month???? And I don't have a clue what mtl is??? *cries for failure to understand*
