I've gone both routes of cheap glasses vs. premium sunglasses, and I lose them all so I decided to go with decent looking cheap ones. The frames don't have the heft that a nice pair of glasses would have, but they are good enough. And easily replaceable.

i subscribe to tracer's view: there is no place for a $30 pen. you either get a box of biros or a mont blanc.

biggest difference I noticed with the Ray Bans (other than just they looked very nice) was that with cheap pairs I always found that the alignment would get skewed after a while and they'd sit funny, but it never happened with these.

i was gifted ray ban wayfarers a million years ago and im indifferent towards them

ive tried to be careless with them so they can break and id be forced to buy new ones but those things are hard as fuck

weird thing is i cant be bothered to shop for something else

if i had to look for sunglasses id probably look for something that feels right, simple design and with really good uv ray protection

dont care about designer brand/unique boutique bullshit or cost really (im guessing this puts me at mid-range rayban-like stuff tho)

i have a black pair and its good for doing laps

if you have bigger quads they can be a little uncomfortable so watch out for that

xp dispute that. been haunted by a vision sat across me on a train earlier this week of this big pasty white graphic designer lookin brit seaside lobster eczema bloke who had unfortunately mistaken himself for ian connor in yeezy s3. i'm talkin: blonde timotei hair in miserly pinched mini topknot, mid-chunky tortoiseshell frames, inside-out 'deconstructed' neutral khaki green sweatshirt, over simultaneously tight and saggy stonewash jeans with huge fake knee slashes revealing pallid cadaverous skin, stuffed into beige faux-suede moon boots (on a warm day), with a beige faux suede backpack. (slightly mistmatched beige tones - perhaps he thought this sprezzatura idk). iphone in hand hilariously typical despite everyone next to him also having one. initially my inner internet chimp wanted to covertly snap a pic to like totally roast him for bricking the fit etc but then the loneliness of all our lives got to me. hope he's okay anyway poor bastard

he didnt even seem misguidedly confident in it is the thing, the opposite in fact, just an acrid tang of hypersensitive panic in the air

if these were on deep discount do any actually look decent, imo cole haan is kind of hot garbage to my tastes but I bet they're very comfortable

Cole Haan has been pushing those for several yeas and I don't recall ever seeing anyone wear them.

They are so "I want people to think I'm a tech entrepreneur" - and yeah, you know 100 per cent the architect glasses would be part of the look, and probably a horrible blazer. The weird thing is people who dress that way probably get called "dapper" and it just fuels them.

It would drive a man to wear more sweats and t-shirts.

Like I basically see so many bad suit jacket looks or people stuck copying Mad Men in the most fearful way that I have hardly even worn a non-denim shirt in about a year, apart from now and again a white Oxford.

i would say at least these things are more... honest... in their shitness compared to things like grenson brogues with contrast midsoles and red laces or whatever which rly are super aggravating and feel somehow more pernicious than simple bad taste

yeah i hate the hybrid grenson stuff. they did a collab with new balance a year or two ago and it was dire.

it's not even just the gimmick hybrids, like if u walk down jermyn street or something u will have a fairly dispiriting job seeing a normal shoe in the window of these hundred year old shops

tho' I don't like their shoes, Grenson have been quite canny - they've branded and designed to have strong allure for British men buying a first expensive shoe. Exploiting the 'a bit mod' default aesthetics of the species.
