FWIW I like J Crew suits a lot for the price -- they use very good fabrics and the construction is nice.

It probably didn't fit great to start with. That combined with be much lighter probably makes it look worse.

What brands do you guys like for tees? Preferably $50 or less, willing to do graphic but wary of looking like a club douche or faux-surfer.

have to say I hate AA tees, the torso is too thin for my taste, I tried a bunch from them last year and wore them for a little while but now I hate them

I've been wearing j crew broken in pocket tees for about 10 years, they are great. Sizing has changed throughout the years even though I've only gained about 5 lbs, I swear the medium is now a small and the large is now a medium. I don't like all the colors they have but I usually find one or two colors I like

Oh I've never actually dropped $50 on a tee, I was just thinking if there's some brand that people say is worth it. I don't have a ton of tees, and the ones I have that I like are from Gustin or random one-offs.

can't stand pocket tees, but then I have an unfeasibly large chest so anything that draws attention to that area can do one

ha yea I am v skinny with not very broad shoulders at all so that's why I like pocket tees

I know people rep for reigning champ, for example, and their tees run like $45-50, some more. But idk if spending on a tee is as justifiable as spending on a sweatshirt (or whether either are justifiable, for that matter).

if you must wear a sport coat with jeans and your blazers are all at the cleaners then at least wear a shirt that looks good untucked and ditch the tie so it is less immediately obvious you are wearing a suit jacket and jeans? Except the shoulder pads / structure are such a dead giveaway. I wonder what happened to the pants that came with the jacket.

I mean I wear blazers with jeans all the time, never the one that's actually a suit jacket though
the tie makes it really abysmal

I don't really think it looks that good even on the guy in the video. It's possible to make it look good, but the reality is that most dudes are not going to make sure everything is perfectly tailored and proportioned, so better to just avoid.

i wld tuck in the polo if wearing w a jacket, and i have before even, not sure what id do if the pants were jeans, i mean i guess i think its fine either way, i pob wld not wear jeans w that but its fine idk

if i was just doing it to meet some work decorum baseline i wld def leave it untucked tho lol

fwiw I think tucked in polo with slacks can look fine, but it's a strictly office thing and definitely a little conservative

and not with jeans

tucked in polo can be insanely stylish but u have to be stylish to do it

tucking in gets a bad rap in general. waists are cool, belts are cool, proportions are cool.

started watching the americans last night and thought his tucked in polo was p dapper, crappy photo aside. prob wouldn't do it myself but i never wear polo shirts anyway.

i assume you guys wear untucked shirts when not wearing a blazer/sportscoat, right? again, i seldom wear formal jackets these days apart from formal occasions, but quite often wear oxfords untucked with jeans or whatever.

i generally tuck in button down shirts which i hardly ever wear unless its something super casual like a flannel or w/e, do not tuck in a polo unless its w a jacket but am willing to give it a try tbh

I tend to favour button down generally, even for quite casual shirts.

i wear button-down shirts a lot both for work and casually and tuck in more often than not. most of my shirts are too long to wear untucked though for the summer i have some casual button down shirts that are shorter and untucked is def preferable when it's hot it.

but in other seasons jeans/chinos plus tucked-in button down is basically my look.

yea that's the problem, i'm short too so it is hard to find a shirt that looks good untucked, i definitely have a few but it is hard to find them

i actually just got a nice red/white/blue gingham from proper cloth and i hoped i had ordered it short enough to be wearable untucked but it's actually still a little too long.

xp that guy kind of looks like me and that's p much how I wear a tucked polo -- close-fitting but not too tight, contrasting slacks or chinos.

and never shiny/smooth/golf polos
