not men's fashion I know but I felt like o had to post, she looks amazing in them, they are not really a thing I would've guessed she would buy but I dig them on her

haha i was expecting you to tell me about the terrible cultural overtones they carry and embarrass me. agreed that its hard to find (used) ones that fit nicely theyre often bagged out and not in a handsome draped armani model way

they are kinda bad quality ime, tho i haven't had one in a good few years, tend to get misshapen like that

i have one that is kind of batwing it's so misshapen but i wear it at home and it keeps me warm

the fabric is always really nice though

xpost yeah the wool is great quality for sure - i have an ancient one still, not worn in ages but considered selling on ebay recently, it's barely bobbled and must be 10 years old

yeah mine is like 8 ply cashmere, no bobbles, at least 20 years old

it has moth holes but no bobbles!

mine has a huge stain on it, dunno what it is. might try dry clean it. dunno if i'm into argyle diamonds so much now tho, it's kinda oatmeal with red and white diamonds and black lines

i purposefully bought a few with holes including a really nice cobalt colored cableknit that fit very nicely since theyre usually super cheap and the holes can be repaired quite easily. ive always passed on the argyles though

on a whim I kind of want to see if I can find a winter hat in the shape of what i think is called an overseas cap -- it's sort of like the shape of a fry cook hat but furry, I think of it as an old school brooklyn jewish thing.

that's a p nice Jerry Garcia tie, better than most. The real problem with most Garcia ties is that they were worn by portly boomers and paired with conservative suits that they didn't fit with at all.

apparently the kind of hat I was thinking of is called an "envoy" or "ambassador" hat. I only like the ones that are leather or other material on top with fur lining/sides, not the all fur ones though. yeah that guy came up in my gis, definitely in the "against" column. I think the ones that are not all-fur might look a little less dumb on a young guy though.

yea those hats are really really warm, there are fleece ones available that look less ridiculous than fur imo

the inca-style knit hat with the ear flaps are also pretty warm

this year i just have a regular knit hat but it slightly longer than usual so it covers my ears
