i won't carry anything in my back pocket - first way to get back ache from sitting down irregularly. My phone has an additional battery which makes it very bulky. I seem to have a lot of keys, all of which I need. Yes, I thought about quitting smoking.

xp ziploc bag full of almonds that's been in the bag for three months...

i already bring a commuter backpack to work anyway. handy for storing a waterproof/umbrella/jumper and reading material but sometimes I can't be arsed.

i agree that ppl who carry things in their back pockets are likely completely insane

get a cool square backpack

or a car and just put all yr garbage in the back seat

bring back those really tech-y cargo pants and put everything in the cargo pockets. first put them in ziplock bags though

much as i don't miss combat trousers, those extra pockets were always useful.

get a girlfriend, commute together, put everything in her purse

wear jesus style robes that have some nice big pockets discretely sewn in there

If you want a bag get a backpack because if it's not a backpack you'll have to carry it in your hands and won't be able to roll your precious cigarettes.

Just look at your clothes and buy a backpack that is basically the same as your clothes, otherwise you'll look like a dork whose parent/grandparent got them a bag.

alternately dont carry any of that stuff except yr keys - great way to save money is never having any on you to pay for things, help you with quitting smoking, create a sense of suspense with friends and colleagues and family 'where is he? why does he never answer his phone? can he really be so busy?' &c &c

Our daughter turned 20 and we purchased the small for her and had it monogrammed as well. It was a perfect gift from Dad, she has grown into quite the fly fisherman! She was thrilled.

this is me. like "of course i should bring the hundred thousand songs of milarepa w/ me i might have to wait in line somewhere!"

you really do need to carry a jacket everywhere in chicago until like mid-summer

always need a book for my commute, might have other paper documents, therefore need a bag. the point of a bag imo is having stuff in it that you might only need from time to time - ie tissues, hayfever medicine, paracetamol, umbrella. plus bags are cool.

I embarassingly was confronted with "Iowa, isn't that the state where you can have your drivers license on your phone now?" and I had to clarify that system is not in place yet and also I had to shake my head because wtf does everything have to be on my phone

xp yeah my work laptop bag permanently houses a very unread copy of slouching towards bethlehem "just in case"

i used to carry like 5/6 cds back in the days of the discman. each morning involved a long process of selection.

i like those blogs where people take photos of the stuff the carry around with them laid out like an fashion shoot

my bag: laptop, work documents in a manila folder, notebook, sunglasses, glasses case, two pens, bag of organic wine gums, like twenty dollars in change, subway tokens, paperback copy of 'love in the days of rage' a modern deck im supposed to lend someone, phone and keys

a very unread copy of slouching towards bethlehem "just in case"

2 or 3 of the segments in this are incredible iirc, give it a go

yeah i like that stuff too, xpost to lamp. mine at the moment - ipad, script, some work documents, one pen, lip balm, hayfever spray and tablets, paracetamol, sunglasses, tissues. i always keep my phone and keys in my jeans pocket tho.

allergy relief is U&K

my backpack: empty tupperware box (contained lunch), 2 x Wire magazine, waterproof jacket, some printouts for my g/f, umbrella, B&N Nook, Bonjela, packet of tissues, all-in-one bottle opener kit, various drugs and plasters.

everyday carry is prob the internet phenomenon above all others that has made me think people are truly insane

Yeah I already said, but it's a Swiss commuter backpack and a bit bulky to carry about. Good for commuting and short trips away but not for every day just walking around without wanting bulky things sticking out your jeans

I realize I was at a music festival so the limits of norms were strained but my friend I was around a couple weeks back had a belt pack and it didn't seem so bad

I mean, the 90s are back, maybe they are cool now
