xp yeah, shorts are not the place to go high-end

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 26 May 2015 17:59 (eleven years ago)

my favorite shorts are a flat-front twill pant, cut off just above the knee. preferably a kind of stiff fabric (think Dickies work pants) and an interesting color (not beige/khaki/black/"stone" etc). i don't like manufactured shorts.

rip van wanko, Tuesday, 26 May 2015 18:09 (eleven years ago)

I like the gap "lived-in" shorts.

Jeff, Tuesday, 26 May 2015 23:52 (eleven years ago)

i bought a pair of fire engine red massimo (also target) pants and turned them into a pair of fire engine red short shorts. i wear them with tanks or t-shirts and sometimes a blazer.

surm, Wednesday, 27 May 2015 03:15 (eleven years ago)

lol I am just now catching up on this thread and incidentally I am wearing ~another~ yellow shirt that you gave me of like some Cambodian temple

I will use it to give me zen throughout a stressful workday

WE WANT FET WAP (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 28 May 2015 12:10 (eleven years ago)

toying with the idea of a black sweatshirt, maybe with a subtle design on it, but I've never really worn sweatshirts before. How do you lot wear em, as in, do you wear a shirt underneath or a jacket on top or particular jeans?

p:s nerds know (dog latin), Thursday, 28 May 2015 12:14 (eleven years ago)

I have a pair of mottled gray Levi's shorts that I cut like 4 inches off of and rolled them up to make them pretty short. I wore them to a circuit party with a tight black Paradise Garage t-shirt, thin suspenders, and big combat boots and threw a black and yellow plaid bomber jacket on top. It felt like a good outfit for a room full of sweaty gay dudes.

WE WANT FET WAP (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 28 May 2015 12:25 (eleven years ago)

xp the current look is to wear them without a tshirt underneath, tho of course this is always subjective. black sweatshirts are great, and versatile. you can pair with a jacket but the color would have to be right. they can be worn with pretty much any pant; even beige, if you do it right.

surm, Thursday, 28 May 2015 13:04 (eleven years ago)

no t-shirt? what if you get too hot?

lag∞n, Thursday, 28 May 2015 13:11 (eleven years ago)

xp then you take your sweatshirt off and sun in the park! no i'm jk obviously sometimes the tshirt is necessary/agl. but going without is p on point

surm, Thursday, 28 May 2015 13:15 (eleven years ago)

you can't really even see if you're wearing a t-shirt or not most of the time imo sweatshirts don't have v loose necks

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Thursday, 28 May 2015 13:21 (eleven years ago)

do not wear a jacket with a sweatshirt. sounds like something they'd do in the burtons look book.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Thursday, 28 May 2015 17:25 (eleven years ago)

i think this was discussed upthread but sweatshirt/sportcoat for fall/winter is definitely still happening in NYC

surm, Thursday, 28 May 2015 17:38 (eleven years ago)

what swim trunks do you all wear? for a year or two i've been rocking these but (my inner) preppy is dead.

Don't swim.

Jeff, Friday, 29 May 2015 17:33 (eleven years ago)

But if I did, I'd probably wear a speedo.

Jeff, Friday, 29 May 2015 17:34 (eleven years ago)

No holidays?

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Friday, 29 May 2015 17:34 (eleven years ago)

no drawstring on trunks imo

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Friday, 29 May 2015 18:33 (eleven years ago)

no drawstring? huh?

i bought a pair of trunks from katin on sale at the end of last season. made in usa, good construction, nice details.

call all destroyer, Friday, 29 May 2015 18:36 (eleven years ago)

mine are solid bright red btw, very into solid trunks right now.

call all destroyer, Friday, 29 May 2015 18:37 (eleven years ago)

i always go with solid short black

surm, Friday, 29 May 2015 18:47 (eleven years ago)

one of my fav garments is a pair of mid thigh loose drapy nylon navy/dark purple trucks embroidered with "koh tao thailand" on them they r perfect and chill

lag∞n, Friday, 29 May 2015 19:06 (eleven years ago)

yeah I plan to go solid black I think, means I might wear them more often also.

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Friday, 29 May 2015 19:52 (eleven years ago)

i've had the same solid navy blue trunks from j crew since 2007, they fit great on me and i love them, not too long, not too short, but i think it is time for a change. i imagine the blue is now a totally different color from when i first bought them

marcos, Friday, 29 May 2015 20:06 (eleven years ago)

they all fade really quickly

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Friday, 29 May 2015 21:58 (eleven years ago)

i have a pair of swim trunks that i think are fantastic - will have to check when im home from work but i only paid like $16 for them and they fit and look great. they're two-tone navy and red and have a pocket which i always really value in a pair of swim trunks

no (Lamp), Saturday, 30 May 2015 01:10 (eleven years ago)
