i'm wearing purple socks with green vans today and got told by the DJ of a national breakfast radio programme that i'm "looking very joker"

yea that was kind of my thinking, also since i've always buzzed my hair it's always just been one length all around, even if don't cut it for months it grows in at the same length, i think what weirded me out about the cut she gave me was the taper and having it longer on top, when you have puffy curly hair it made my face look super long. even though i knew intellectually that she gave me a good haircut it was just weird to have this taper, i wasn't used to it

Not sure if I should say this now, but short sides/big curls on top is a/g/l if you can pull it off AFAIC. Sorry, marco.

^ if I could pull it off, I'd do it. the guy who cuts my hair keeps trying to get me to go for a messier/wavier style but I get frustrated and just end up keeping it straight.

i think the trick with hair (and scruff tbh) is different things @ different times. i like it super short and then letting it grow 4 a while.

it's weird how either look can age you though: v short or long/wavy. just depends.

yea i could've pulled it off, i just wasn't patient enough to let the cut settle in. next time!

also, just curious, the stylist used thinning scissors to "reduce the bulk and bushiness" throughout my hair, seems like maybe not a good idea? i want my thicker, not thinned out

could be just to accentuate the texture

do you really want it super-bushy or just textured?

my girl Rose always uses thinning scissors, otherwise my hair grows out way too fast i think.

i live right across the street from a flea market. it feels like home.

i think i need some new shorts. it can be hard to find the right pair ime. so many are too long or too wide or too short or too narrow, there is a medium between all those that is tough to get right

i believe jcrew factory sells three different lengths still and their shorts are cheap

i also custom tailor my shorts/pants bc of this. it's really easy to take a pair of pants into a dry cleaners and give them your measurements (i usually go for ~15-17" inseam.) it's like $10.

i like american apparel shorts tbh. if the're too long ill "cuff" them. i like a sorta boxy feeling, like the inseam+rise = 1/2 the waist?

i feel like its not worth spending lots of money on shorts because you tend to wear them in situations where they will get stained/torn/beat up.

i have a good pair from them - it's the right length, which i appreciate.

xp yeah, shorts are not the place to go high-end

my favorite shorts are a flat-front twill pant, cut off just above the knee. preferably a kind of stiff fabric (think Dickies work pants) and an interesting color (not beige/khaki/black/"stone" etc). i don't like manufactured shorts.

I like the gap "lived-in" shorts.

i bought a pair of fire engine red massimo (also target) pants and turned them into a pair of fire engine red short shorts. i wear them with tanks or t-shirts and sometimes a blazer.

merona shirts are A+++

lol I am just now catching up on this thread and incidentally I am wearing ~another~ yellow shirt that you gave me of like some Cambodian temple

I will use it to give me zen throughout a stressful workday

toying with the idea of a black sweatshirt, maybe with a subtle design on it, but I've never really worn sweatshirts before. How do you lot wear em, as in, do you wear a shirt underneath or a jacket on top or particular jeans?

I have a pair of mottled gray Levi's shorts that I cut like 4 inches off of and rolled them up to make them pretty short. I wore them to a circuit party with a tight black Paradise Garage t-shirt, thin suspenders, and big combat boots and threw a black and yellow plaid bomber jacket on top. It felt like a good outfit for a room full of sweaty gay dudes.

xp the current look is to wear them without a tshirt underneath, tho of course this is always subjective. black sweatshirts are great, and versatile. you can pair with a jacket but the color would have to be right. they can be worn with pretty much any pant; even beige, if you do it right.

no t-shirt? what if you get too hot?

xp then you take your sweatshirt off and sun in the park! no i'm jk obviously sometimes the tshirt is necessary/agl. but going without is p on point

you can't really even see if you're wearing a t-shirt or not most of the time imo sweatshirts don't have v loose necks

do not wear a jacket with a sweatshirt. sounds like something they'd do in the burtons look book.

i think this was discussed upthread but sweatshirt/sportcoat for fall/winter is definitely still happening in NYC

what swim trunks do you all wear? for a year or two i've been rocking these but (my inner) preppy is dead.
