what do we think of yellow for clothing

surm, Monday, 18 May 2015 15:06 (eleven years ago)

there are a lot of shades of yellow

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 May 2015 15:12 (eleven years ago)

depends on skin tone i guess; think peeps w/ dark skin look really good in it. my white ass looks okay in it as long as it's a darker shade like mustard or gold.

shep prettybone (clouds), Monday, 18 May 2015 15:12 (eleven years ago)

if you're travelling from the future to try to murder the flash in the present day, yellow is a solid choice, otherwise avoid it imo

bizarro gazzara, Monday, 18 May 2015 15:14 (eleven years ago)

yea skin is pretty key for yellow. i have the right skin tone, like an olive brown, but in the dead of winter i still feel too pale for yellow. middle of summer when my skin is darker i'm more inclined.

the darker shades of yellow are nicer in general imo. unless you have really dark skin i'm not a fan of pale yellow

breaking the suit

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Monday, 18 May 2015 15:17 (eleven years ago)

do think orange is a bit more versatile tho

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Monday, 18 May 2015 15:23 (eleven years ago)

orange for me needs to be a pretty soft orange, it can't be harsh

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 15:30 (eleven years ago)

one color i have never been able to wear is red

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 15:30 (eleven years ago)

Need my hair cut soon. Feels like it's growing back at a rate of knots. No idea what to go for. Kind of jealous of youse who buzz cut all over as I've been wondering what I'd look like, but I worry it won't suit me. I liked the rockabilly-ish quiff I got a while ago but it was really hard to maintain and grew-out really quickly.

p:s nerds know (dog latin), Monday, 18 May 2015 15:56 (eleven years ago)

you should give hereditary baldness a go - since i chose it i've never been happier

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Monday, 18 May 2015 16:04 (eleven years ago)

it would definitely subdue the tyranny of choice.

p:s nerds know (dog latin), Monday, 18 May 2015 16:07 (eleven years ago)

being able to cut your own hair is definitely convenient

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Monday, 18 May 2015 16:18 (eleven years ago)

i used to suck at it but you guys inspired me to do a quick buzz and trim on the sides just now and it looks good

agreed re: skin tone and citrus colors. i only *ever* wear lime green if i am supremely tan.

surm, Monday, 18 May 2015 16:40 (eleven years ago)

lol all these buzz cuts

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:27 (eleven years ago)

i am in that moment right now when my stomach is just a pit of anxiety whenever i see someone with the curls i had before i buzzed, fuuuuuuuuck that, so regretful right now but i am happy you dig yours surm!

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:28 (eleven years ago)

ya i dont really like mine, i used to do it all the time but its been a while

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:32 (eleven years ago)

yea i used to too, since i am trying to move away from the buzz cut though it feels like i stepped into the 2013 me

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:32 (eleven years ago)

feel like its making me look old since all bald men buzz their hair these days

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:33 (eleven years ago)

maybe ill tell ppl i did it in solidarity with my bald friends

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:34 (eleven years ago)

last itime i buzzed my hair was prob around y2k

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:36 (eleven years ago)

are you guys still like going into great clips every six months and wringing hands about whether they will do a passable job

ultimate american sock (mh), Monday, 18 May 2015 17:39 (eleven years ago)

i go to the neighborhood barber shop except theres one guy i try to avoid and i thought he wasnt there but then he popped out gesturing toward his chair and i cldnt say no because i feel bad for him

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:40 (eleven years ago)

i go every ~month

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:41 (eleven years ago)

do tell us of yr mastery of the hair gaem tho lol

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:41 (eleven years ago)

mh no, the woman who came over is a pretty accomplished stylist afaik, she does hair and makeup for photoshoots and does a marvelous job with my wife's hair and my son's hair (and cutting a autistic toddler's hair when he is squirming like crazy and have it come out looking fabulous is pretty serious craft) and she did a good job with mine, i'm just a nervous control freak and i wasn't used to the change so i impulsively buzzed it

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:53 (eleven years ago)

I have no mastery, I just do the same thing all the time every day, it's my life

ultimate american sock (mh), Monday, 18 May 2015 17:56 (eleven years ago)

but the thing that bothers me is that buzzing it is somehow ~not~ a huge change!

that seems bigger than having some hair you are kind of so-so on for a little bit until you need a trim

ultimate american sock (mh), Monday, 18 May 2015 17:57 (eleven years ago)

I am Samson and my inner self will die if you completely remove my locks

ultimate american sock (mh), Monday, 18 May 2015 17:57 (eleven years ago)

but the thing that bothers me is that buzzing it is somehow ~not~ a huge change!

you are very wise

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 17:58 (eleven years ago)

I guess that you could see it as a neutral state, if you spent any time in your life w/your hair buzzed

ultimate american sock (mh), Monday, 18 May 2015 18:00 (eleven years ago)

yea that was kind of my thinking, also since i've always buzzed my hair it's always just been one length all around, even if don't cut it for months it grows in at the same length, i think what weirded me out about the cut she gave me was the taper and having it longer on top, when you have puffy curly hair it made my face look super long. even though i knew intellectually that she gave me a good haircut it was just weird to have this taper, i wasn't used to it

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:08 (eleven years ago)

yeah those things that change the shape of yr face can really f w yr mind for a couples days it always freaks me out if ive had a big beard for a while and take it off, just need to give yr internal self image a min to adjust

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:10 (eleven years ago)

yes definitely

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:13 (eleven years ago)

when i've grown a huge beard and then shave it i think my face shrunk for a few days, like i have no chin or something

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:14 (eleven years ago)

exactly

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:16 (eleven years ago)

freaked out at the first signs of my hair thinning so i grew it and i have long ass hippie hair now. it's pretty cool. need to get a lil trim cause its sprouting out in weird directions though

flopson, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:16 (eleven years ago)

marcos, I've felt that way about glasses when I've bought some with a different shape. decided I liked them, got them and had second thoughts, but once I got past the self-reflection and friends saying "oh, new glasses" all I got was new acquaintances complimenting them so it must be a-ok

imo once you get past your own self-criticism and the questioning looks of people who are resistant to change, the real consensus opinion rolls around. it can take a while.

ultimate american sock (mh), Monday, 18 May 2015 18:23 (eleven years ago)

u cant really trust ppls compliments tho they r liars

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:25 (eleven years ago)

lol

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:25 (eleven years ago)

i think too that after any cut i need to say "i am sticking with this for 2 weeks and if i still hate then i can cut it again" because pretty much after 2 weeks i am liking any haircut

marcos, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:26 (eleven years ago)

tbrr if you're married just do what your wife says

ultimate american sock (mh), Monday, 18 May 2015 18:26 (eleven years ago)
