fuck i hate getting haircuts

in the exact same place i was 3 months ago

tbh i think i have some anxiety or obsessive-compulsive issues around this. i finally grew out my hair long enough to be curly again but it was getting a little shaggy around the back and sides. so we had the woman who cuts my wife's hair come over the other day and cut everybody's hair. it was the first time i let someone else cut my hair in 10 years (normally i do it myself, just buzz it all around). it is really fucked up because in retrospect she did a really nice job but afterwards i just couldn't handle the change and, of course, i had to do the considerably stupider and more drastic option of buzzing it all off again. i am so pissed at myself, i should've just relaxed and let it go, you know?

ha i got a bad haircut the other day and buzzed it off, im not like that psyched abt the situation

i'm sorry but u have to be VERY careful about who you choose. my girl is like i been seeing her for 10 years she's like my mom. after i did research on the others in the hood. it's her or bust at this point.

yea i think in terms of a buzz cut i think i can do that better than anyone else. but having longer hair and tapered haircut? fuck i have no clue how to do that. i'm really eager for a different cut, i've been wearing a buzz cut for a years and i am finally ready to have bushier curly hair again, so now i'm okay i guess i have to wait a few more months again

the thing abt buzzing yr own hair is you cant really edge it yrself, luckily for me the macklemore cut came with that built in

i mean, tbh, a FADE is real hard to do and sometimes i go to the black gallery salon and i'm the only white person in there and i'm like, i just want it short

but then sometimes i grow it out and - it's tough! to wear your hair short. i just bought brylcream

my last hair apt i was supposed to go blonde. but i told her i couldn't go through with it. she was like i'm so disappointed i was telling everybody how excited i was to give you the Marilyn treatment! i was like i'm sorry!

what do we think of yellow for clothing

there are a lot of shades of yellow

depends on skin tone i guess; think peeps w/ dark skin look really good in it. my white ass looks okay in it as long as it's a darker shade like mustard or gold.

if you're travelling from the future to try to murder the flash in the present day, yellow is a solid choice, otherwise avoid it imo

yea skin is pretty key for yellow. i have the right skin tone, like an olive brown, but in the dead of winter i still feel too pale for yellow. middle of summer when my skin is darker i'm more inclined.

the darker shades of yellow are nicer in general imo. unless you have really dark skin i'm not a fan of pale yellow

orange for me needs to be a pretty soft orange, it can't be harsh

one color i have never been able to wear is red

Need my hair cut soon. Feels like it's growing back at a rate of knots. No idea what to go for. Kind of jealous of youse who buzz cut all over as I've been wondering what I'd look like, but I worry it won't suit me. I liked the rockabilly-ish quiff I got a while ago but it was really hard to maintain and grew-out really quickly.

you should give hereditary baldness a go - since i chose it i've never been happier

it would definitely subdue the tyranny of choice.

being able to cut your own hair is definitely convenient

i used to suck at it but you guys inspired me to do a quick buzz and trim on the sides just now and it looks good

agreed re: skin tone and citrus colors. i only *ever* wear lime green if i am supremely tan.

i am in that moment right now when my stomach is just a pit of anxiety whenever i see someone with the curls i had before i buzzed, fuuuuuuuuck that, so regretful right now but i am happy you dig yours surm!

yea i used to too, since i am trying to move away from the buzz cut though it feels like i stepped into the 2013 me

feel like its making me look old since all bald men buzz their hair these days

are you guys still like going into great clips every six months and wringing hands about whether they will do a passable job

i go to the neighborhood barber shop except theres one guy i try to avoid and i thought he wasnt there but then he popped out gesturing toward his chair and i cldnt say no because i feel bad for him

mh no, the woman who came over is a pretty accomplished stylist afaik, she does hair and makeup for photoshoots and does a marvelous job with my wife's hair and my son's hair (and cutting a autistic toddler's hair when he is squirming like crazy and have it come out looking fabulous is pretty serious craft) and she did a good job with mine, i'm just a nervous control freak and i wasn't used to the change so i impulsively buzzed it

but the thing that bothers me is that buzzing it is somehow ~not~ a huge change!

that seems bigger than having some hair you are kind of so-so on for a little bit until you need a trim
