Need some new gym shoes. So tempted by some b/w Nike Frees (because they look nice over everything), but wondering if I'd be better off with a more traditional/robust Asics type things (cos I mean, who needs to look stylish in a gym really?). I mean, are the Nikes legit for gym or are they really just fashion shoes?

p:s nerds know (dog latin), Wednesday, 13 May 2015 15:13 (eleven years ago)

nike frees r good gym shoes, neutral shoes r good for lifting particularly, i personally prefer something with less sole than the nikes but theyre def better than a trad cross trainer imo

lag∞n, Wednesday, 13 May 2015 15:20 (eleven years ago)

i guess i need to work out my gait. I p much just run to the gym, 10 mins of cross trainer, then the rest is machine weights. Nothing too intense but I'm going more and more and my Asics are from, like 2008 and worn out.

p:s nerds know (dog latin), Wednesday, 13 May 2015 15:24 (eleven years ago)

gait analysis is p cheap - free at lots of shops, though you won't have much of a fashion choice

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 13 May 2015 15:27 (eleven years ago)

i got the really lightweight new balances for mixed cardio and weights, i love 'em

i can't find an exact pic of mine but it's the minimus 20v4

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 13 May 2015 16:07 (eleven years ago)

yeah minimal zero heel>toe drop shoes are prob ideal for the gym, mine are more "racing flats" but p similar overall

Oh man, I found the best summer blazer/jackety thing for not too much money in the Gold Label section at TK yesterday but they only had it in a small/medium. That's the problem with that place - all the L sizes get snapped up immediately. Checked online and it's the same story.

p:s nerds know (dog latin), Friday, 15 May 2015 11:57 (eleven years ago)

ugh desperately in need of the above

surm, Friday, 15 May 2015 15:51 (eleven years ago)

in my ongoing quest to only wear the clothes i find in the lost and found at work i tried on this sweet normocre grey hoodie last night but it was like childs medium and only came to my navel. so i feel yr pain dog latin

no (Lamp), Friday, 15 May 2015 15:56 (eleven years ago)

the silver lining is i need to save money. but it was the swishest thing.

p:s nerds know (dog latin), Friday, 15 May 2015 15:59 (eleven years ago)

feel you. sometimes i try to re-borrow the small black jcrew cardigan i handed down to my bf Ryan (bc i don't have any cardigans!), but it literally looks like a \\shrug// on me.

surm, Friday, 15 May 2015 16:01 (eleven years ago)

i find it p hard to get any cardigans that i like. i'm still wearing one i got in cos about 4 years ago - i mostly find shawl collars impractical and crappy under a jacket, and shawl collars seem ubiquitous, as i think i bemoaned upthread. i find when you get one without a shawl it's often that ultra thin material which also defeats the purpose of a cardigan, to actually give a bit of an extra layer under stuff or whatever.

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Friday, 15 May 2015 16:05 (eleven years ago)

i have a cardigan i rarely wear having devoted myself to the shacket and sweatshirt life. also i dont wear collared shirts outside of work at all

no (Lamp), Friday, 15 May 2015 16:07 (eleven years ago)

omg collared shirts are even more comfortable than tshirts for me sometimes, i feel like i was born in one

surm, Friday, 15 May 2015 16:08 (eleven years ago)

thinking about getting back into the lacoste polo life again tho this summer. can usually find used ones really cheap in nice primary colors
