gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 9 April 2015 14:41 (eleven years ago)

thx dude

surm, Thursday, 9 April 2015 14:53 (eleven years ago)

i wouldn't say health goth and normcore are the only two modes of dressing.

Junior Dictionary (LocalGarda), Thursday, 9 April 2015 15:16 (eleven years ago)

sry its a fact

lag∞n, Thursday, 9 April 2015 15:19 (eleven years ago)

health goth is definitely a good thing

surm, Thursday, 9 April 2015 15:36 (eleven years ago)

never seen anyone dressed 'health goth' and i commute the same direction as the students at st martins. that said i'm sure there's a lot more sheer white/black styles going on at the moment among just everyday people in my office.

but then again, who really cares? I don’t. (dog latin), Thursday, 9 April 2015 15:46 (eleven years ago)

yea I've never seen a health goth irl, def seems like a novelty to me

also health and athletic gear in general is kind of gross imo unless you are actually doing an athletic activity

marcos, Thursday, 9 April 2015 15:54 (eleven years ago)

isn't normcore just "norm" plus a Supreme hat?

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Thursday, 9 April 2015 15:57 (eleven years ago)

very much health goth in ny

lag∞n, Thursday, 9 April 2015 16:12 (eleven years ago)

normcore is expensive clothes pretending to be normal m/l

lag∞n, Thursday, 9 April 2015 16:13 (eleven years ago)

feel like its in some ways the zenith of the trend of fancy clothes shifting from ostentatiousness to clubbiness

lag∞n, Thursday, 9 April 2015 16:14 (eleven years ago)

i've seen both health goth and normcore - i saw this ridiculously normcore girl on the bus one night that was definitely some kind of hipster but dressed in a sort of pastel cotton long-sleeved t-shirt, like an american grandma tourist or something, and white trousers.

seen a lot of health goths - but i mean not quite to the extent of the images you get if you google "health goth".

preppy does bleed into normcore a bit though - or just v basic stuff like apc could pass as normcore, and yet it's not as normcore as that girl on the bus.

Junior Dictionary (LocalGarda), Thursday, 9 April 2015 16:15 (eleven years ago)

what i wore yesterday: charcoal lauren by ralph lauren (lol) overcoat, slouchy grey crewneck uniqlo sweatshirt, navy jcrew tee, han kjobenhavn stone washed tapered jeans, yellow new balance 300s, and underwear and socks of which i will spare u the details

i felt p norm(core), tho i guess only the jeans match my description of fancy clothes masquerading as norm idk

lag∞n, Thursday, 9 April 2015 16:23 (eleven years ago)

can someone offer a precis of health goth? is it related to amanda palmer?

Guys! CARHARTT has a streewear line? And it's actually pretty great (albeit overpriced)??

http://shop.carhartt-wip.com/view/us/home

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Friday, 10 April 2015 20:10 (eleven years ago)

they've had streetwear for years, it's just been europe-only since it was from a european company that licensed their name

mh, Friday, 10 April 2015 20:12 (eleven years ago)

Carhartt Streetwear, which is produced under license of Work in Progress, supports affinity groups such as artists, musicians and skateboarders.

mh, Friday, 10 April 2015 20:13 (eleven years ago)

theres a lot of carhartt x [mens/streetwear brand] out there too

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 20:33 (eleven years ago)

i wanna see CARHARTT ♥ FORNARINA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqZmCOdn30U

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Friday, 10 April 2015 21:49 (eleven years ago)

yeah in europe i thought carhartt was like stussy or something until about 2005

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Friday, 10 April 2015 22:54 (eleven years ago)

i am unwittingly inspired by the 'fornarnia' typo

rip van wanko, Saturday, 11 April 2015 00:12 (eleven years ago)

omg lmao

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Saturday, 11 April 2015 00:48 (eleven years ago)

yeah in europe i thought carhartt was like stussy or something until about 2005

did it ever stop being this?

seems like something djs wore circa 1999 - no amount of occasionally okay clothes can change that. norse projects is the slightly better carhartt of its era, complete with irritating tags stuck to the clothes.

Junior Dictionary (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 April 2015 01:30 (eleven years ago)

I think caek is comparing the euro licensed brand to the U.S. workwear brand, not euro carhartt then vs now

mh, Saturday, 11 April 2015 03:05 (eleven years ago)

Carhartt was always a skate brand to me. very popular in the late 90s. what is it in the us?

but then again, who really cares? I don’t. (dog latin), Saturday, 11 April 2015 08:48 (eleven years ago)

workwear. for builders. like Dickies:

http://www.dickies.com/

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Saturday, 11 April 2015 10:04 (eleven years ago)

Carhartt as skateboard wear is mind boggling to me as it is very much a blue collar / cold weather work wear thing in the U.S. and the style of dress I would associate with the people most likely to pick on skaters when I was in high school.
