anyway, after i left, someone in a bookshop complimented me on the yellow camo jacket i was wearing, which was nice because i never felt quite right wearing it despite having bought it for more than i could afford after falling in love with it in an expensive shop a couple of years ago.

im totally into the popover i think i might become a popover guy, ive never felt comfortable wearing button downs untucked maybe this is the wave for me

lag∞n, Monday, 23 March 2015 15:28 (eleven years ago)

i don't mind button-downs, but there's always a thing where i feel i should definitely use the buttons if tucked-in + wearing a top, but never sure if i should unbutton them if untucked or not wearing a top.

this is an important dilemma.

i admire popovers (despite the goofy name, wtf is that anyways) and had a nice olive green one for a long time but for some reason i felt a little awkward wearing it. does feel a little more casual than a button-down which can be nice sometimes

marcos, Monday, 23 March 2015 15:42 (eleven years ago)

maybe nice in summer, but i'd worry i'd feel like i was wearing a bib or something... not sure, maybe that's irrational.

btw FUCK THIS WINTER for so many reasons but a very important one is that i am so so tired of wearing my winter clothes, man. my favorite flannel and chamois shirts that felt so nice and rugged and cozy in november now just feel stale and overworn. i can't even look at my winter coat anymore but it is still so damn cold to wear something else. i'm sick of having hat hair. tired of my boots. the sunlight is so bright so i feel like should be wearing spring clothes but the temperatures just don't work for them. also it feels way too late in the season to commit to buying any new winter clothes to add some freshness.

marcos, Monday, 23 March 2015 15:47 (eleven years ago)

have u guys seen any cool layering items for spring? light jackets, sweater blazers, cardigans, things like that?

got these two below, recently.

https://www.thebureaubelfast.com/shop/3432/indigo-8oz-denim-dayton-shirt--exclusive (should be similar versions of this that aren't exclusive to this store and sold out)

already posted this one ages ago: http://www.cheapmonday.com/shop-men/coats-jackets/labour-denim-jacket/4930751-5473755.1?image=5012670#c-47958

i find it p hard to get cardigans that i like. too many shawls - i don't like shawl collars.

have been looking for a coach jacket or light bomber for a while but not really found one that feels worth investing in. i have a heavier asos bomber that i'm starting to wear now the temps are a little up - but it is leather, not really thin enough to layer.

I am feeling this post so hard. Plus adding to the general malaise is the fact that all of my dry clean-only winter gear is fucking FILTHY but I can't take it to the cleaners because I need to wear it.

not specifically about men's fashion but as a birkenstock lover it was cool to see this new yorker piece: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/03/23/sole-cycle-rebecca-mead

haha wow. what is the name for that look btw? it's fucking inescapable

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 25 March 2015 17:15 (eleven years ago)

i haven't heard a solid name for it, which means that the ilx hivemind should carve out a healthgoth-sized place in history for itself by naming it

so far all i can think of is broga, which is bro yoga, which sounds funny but is confusing written down

GGGOAT: greatest goat game of all time (Will M.), Wednesday, 25 March 2015 17:22 (eleven years ago)

Not a combo that I have seen.

Jeff, Wednesday, 25 March 2015 17:51 (eleven years ago)

In fact, 90% of the time when I see someone in a GC, it's a woman.

Jeff, Wednesday, 25 March 2015 17:52 (eleven years ago)

yeah like a normal yuppie woman, not hip

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 March 2015 19:46 (eleven years ago)

i had a good friend in college who was very into yoga and sometimes wore a bun, he is pretty beautiful and very sweet though so he always looked good

marcos, Wednesday, 25 March 2015 19:49 (eleven years ago)

i did my hair like that occasionally when i was a teen tbh

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 March 2015 19:50 (eleven years ago)

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 March 2015 19:54 (eleven years ago)

i think you have to be a particular person i.e. extraordinarily good looking, to pull off the manbun

why dont u say something or like just die (dog latin), Wednesday, 25 March 2015 19:55 (eleven years ago)

who's that wearin' that manly bun
namaste boys

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Wednesday, 25 March 2015 19:56 (eleven years ago)

i think it has to do with your hairline, too, it can't be too high

marcos, Wednesday, 25 March 2015 20:00 (eleven years ago)

Rogelio himself wearing a big man bun for his huge curly hair and blogging about it.

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 March 2015 20:05 (eleven years ago)

I feel like some ilxors could pull off the bun, not me
