marcos, Wednesday, 18 March 2015 20:21 (eleven years ago)

fuck i have like 4 or 5 of them

marcos, Wednesday, 18 March 2015 20:21 (eleven years ago)

These Gustin clothes are really nice. I would pair the jeans and shirt any day. Do they ship to the UK?

why dont u say something or like just die (dog latin), Wednesday, 18 March 2015 20:32 (eleven years ago)

i think so. only semi-drawback i've seen w/gustinis you're buying something that you'll get in a couple months. and my jeans were even delayed a bit beyond that because their factory got backed up.

otherwise you all should buy stuff w/my link.

we shd do one of those personal shopper box club startups and it just automatically sends u everything from this thread, billion dollar idea

lag∞n, Wednesday, 18 March 2015 20:51 (eleven years ago)

so it's a sort of crowd funding thing then?

I'm still not at the point where I can just drop $80 or $100 for a single garment bcz I think it looks p cool :-/

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Wednesday, 18 March 2015 21:06 (eleven years ago)

xp right, they basically get enough backers for a production run and cut it off there. it seems like plenty of items/fabrics cycle back through though.

mh, Wednesday, 18 March 2015 22:37 (eleven years ago)

yeah these are just a tiny bit above my price range. fantastic clobber though, for sure. i really like the black wax jacket they're doing, only i'd be tempted to scour somewhere like TK Maxx for similar-looking items at a lower price.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 19 March 2015 00:34 (eleven years ago)

I had no idea that TJ Maxx was called TK Maxx in the UK! How strange.

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 19 March 2015 12:31 (eleven years ago)

really? i had no idea either.

why dont u say something or like just die (dog latin), Thursday, 19 March 2015 12:39 (eleven years ago)

The first European store opened in Bristol in 1994.[5] The company modified the name to T.K. Maxx to avoid "confusion with the established British retail chain TJ Hughes (which is not affiliated with TJX)".[6]

Never heard of TJ Hughes tbh

why dont u say something or like just die (dog latin), Thursday, 19 March 2015 12:42 (eleven years ago)

There is a TJ Hughes in Glasgow. It's a really old-fashioned department store - old people queue up waiting for it to open. It is mostly pretty fusty but it's good for if you need a cheap toaster or umbrella or something.

Bought a nice, soft, charcoal grey shirt this weekend; sale item and fits nicely. Pity about the button-down collar.

the guy at the patagonia store complimented me on it and asked me all about it lol

lag∞n, Monday, 23 March 2015 15:21 (eleven years ago)

sometimes finding the simplest piece of clothing can be impossible. all i wanted was an inexpensive block-colour v-neck cotton jumper for work. after what felt like hours of searching around i happened upon one that was 'just fine', got home and it had been mislabelled to an XL size..

why dont u say something or like just die (dog latin), Monday, 23 March 2015 15:23 (eleven years ago)

have u guys seen any cool layering items for spring? light jackets, sweater blazers, cardigans, things like that?

anyway, after i left, someone in a bookshop complimented me on the yellow camo jacket i was wearing, which was nice because i never felt quite right wearing it despite having bought it for more than i could afford after falling in love with it in an expensive shop a couple of years ago.

why dont u say something or like just die (dog latin), Monday, 23 March 2015 15:25 (eleven years ago)

im totally into the popover i think i might become a popover guy, ive never felt comfortable wearing button downs untucked maybe this is the wave for me

lag∞n, Monday, 23 March 2015 15:28 (eleven years ago)

i don't mind button-downs, but there's always a thing where i feel i should definitely use the buttons if tucked-in + wearing a top, but never sure if i should unbutton them if untucked or not wearing a top.

this is an important dilemma.

why dont u say something or like just die (dog latin), Monday, 23 March 2015 15:33 (eleven years ago)

i admire popovers (despite the goofy name, wtf is that anyways) and had a nice olive green one for a long time but for some reason i felt a little awkward wearing it. does feel a little more casual than a button-down which can be nice sometimes

marcos, Monday, 23 March 2015 15:42 (eleven years ago)

maybe nice in summer, but i'd worry i'd feel like i was wearing a bib or something... not sure, maybe that's irrational.

why dont u say something or like just die (dog latin), Monday, 23 March 2015 15:47 (eleven years ago)

btw FUCK THIS WINTER for so many reasons but a very important one is that i am so so tired of wearing my winter clothes, man. my favorite flannel and chamois shirts that felt so nice and rugged and cozy in november now just feel stale and overworn. i can't even look at my winter coat anymore but it is still so damn cold to wear something else. i'm sick of having hat hair. tired of my boots. the sunlight is so bright so i feel like should be wearing spring clothes but the temperatures just don't work for them. also it feels way too late in the season to commit to buying any new winter clothes to add some freshness.

marcos, Monday, 23 March 2015 15:47 (eleven years ago)

got these two below, recently.

https://www.thebureaubelfast.com/shop/3432/indigo-8oz-denim-dayton-shirt--exclusive (should be similar versions of this that aren't exclusive to this store and sold out)

already posted this one ages ago: http://www.cheapmonday.com/shop-men/coats-jackets/labour-denim-jacket/4930751-5473755.1?image=5012670#c-47958

i find it p hard to get cardigans that i like. too many shawls - i don't like shawl collars.

have been looking for a coach jacket or light bomber for a while but not really found one that feels worth investing in. i have a heavier asos bomber that i'm starting to wear now the temps are a little up - but it is leather, not really thin enough to layer.

Junior Dictionary (LocalGarda), Monday, 23 March 2015 16:01 (eleven years ago)

just acquired a second popover from jcrew

I am feeling this post so hard. Plus adding to the general malaise is the fact that all of my dry clean-only winter gear is fucking FILTHY but I can't take it to the cleaners because I need to wear it.

from batman to balloon dog (carl agatha), Monday, 23 March 2015 16:36 (eleven years ago)

i got a topman coach jacket and a battenwear fleece for spring
