um excuse me i have beautiful full head of hair i think u know that

yeah my current shop is v. unpretentious, no bs, diverse clientele. feel like i see more and more attempts to do upscale barber shops, it's gross.

i go to a gross hipster barber shop but my guy is just good, he can cut a freakin head of hair

he and my gf used to work at cb2 and ppl used to come up to him in the store when he was selling furniture like "miles man you gotta go back to cutting hair... not the same without you"

The thing is the idea of going to an unhip old mannish barber is nice and everything but sometimes you get an old man haircut. And I don't mean "stylishly reminiscent of an old man when he was young therefore extra authentic."

I have an old lady at a great clips

Tho she's getting old, she keeps breaking her shoulder and last time she wasn't paying attention and gave me a soccer mom haircut

I have almost never found someone who consistently cut my hair well. I usually just go to the russian barbers near work -- it's hit-or-miss but it never looks too bad after a week. I have odd consistency thinning jewfro hair that not many people cut well.

When I've gone to fancy places I always wuss out on doing anything different and just get a slightly nicer version of the same haircut everyone gives me. My hair usually looks bad overly combed or brushed, so it has to just be kind of left natural and in a good shape.

i used to cut my own hair i used to get expensive haircuts and im just as surprised as anyone to end up a barbershop guy but thats life u know

the salon my wife goes to now has on its staff the best of boston award winner for mens cuts, i'm kind of curious but will prob just stick with my current place.

Sometimes I am curious as to what would happen if I went to some top place and was just like "what would YOU recommend?" BC I have no idea how to ask for a haircut beyond "short" or "short on the sides, a little more on top"

I prefer salons over barbers.

The same woman cut my hair for like 7 years, but then she moved to a new salon in the Trump Tower that was outrageously priced for a men's haircut, so I went there for an additional year, but then she had to raise prices again, so then I stopped. But I do miss the shampoo ladies there, they would do this head massage thing that was awesome. I miss that head massage. Frequently.

datapoint: i still get dirtbag haircuts from w/e is the cheapest i can find. my last haircut was at a vietnamese place in dallas. the cut was six bucks but i left ten cuz im not a savage. i have waspy white guy hair so it looks kinda ok no matter what i do to it #privilege

i have an apc one that's kind of well-fitted and normcore and an acne studios one that was one of the nicest fitting shirts I've ever owned but totally shit quality and cost a lot - would prob never buy anything of theirs again as a result, more fool me.

Hair looks a lot better (and much more easily managed) but I can't figure a way of taking a selfie and getting it online to share. For some reason my phone is not having it. Will try soon.

I always used to avoid monochromes as a rule and always preferred a very colourful dress style - block colours etc. but i'm thinking about getting more edgy/stylish/less-cuddly now that i'm a grown up. is there a rule or any tips or anything i should know? one of the reasons i avoided black/white was that i found these a bit default, maybe even dorky and unimaginative. but yeah, i don't think i'm quite as down with bright yellows and oranges as i once was.

lol i have the hispanic version of your hair. it is like thin and thick and fro-ish and light all at the same time, it is so weird. there are parts that are pretty straight and parts that are thick and tight coils

Yup. One of the biggest problems I often run into is that they will try too hard to *style* my hair a certain way, not realizing that as soon as it dries, unless it's massively weighted down with pommade, it will spring into a totally different shape.

When I was younger I could really grow a proper welcome-back-kotteresque jewfro. Now it's sort of partly wavy, partly curly, thin and thick.

i have tricky cowlicks and am always disappointed with my haircuts. i found a walk-in lady who's actually really good and i've been going to her for the last 4 months or so and i am very happy. it's really just trial and error

I want to do this. I even made it a sort of a new year's resolution, but my barber's hours don't mesh well with mine so I wind up going almost 8 weeks usually.

I tried getting there 15 minutes before they open at 7 a.m. and there were already 4 guys lined up in the 15F gusting snow, so I said fuck that.

Got a better than usual cut today at a new place, but it was $30 -- a little spendy for me. Still, tough to find a really good cut cheap in midtown.

i have an am appy hoodie and and everlane hoodie both in S and the everlane hoodie is longer and a little looser, it fits me (5'11", small shoulders) much better than the AA which is p tight

in their comparable crewneck sweatshirts the everlane is def slimmer, too slim 4 me, i guess a diff cut than the hoodie

omg i was just checking my order to return it and i realized i accidentally ordered a small sweatshirt! lol mystery solved re not fitting, the sleeves are still too long for me on the small tho so i will prob not go for the medium, dan i will sell it to u if u want it for the price i paid w discount $20 its a p nice garment wld prob fit u

also ime AA fits are like all over the place, there is no quality control
