Those posts aren't really a joke, I've been thinking about how to not wear t shirts and jeans all the time , and how I feel like an impostor whenever I dress in a new way

I have a shirt that says japan in kanji and underneath that it says japan in english

I call that shirt japan japan

u can wear other clothes u r not an imposter its ok u might feel a little strange at first but then u will get used to it

$168 for a sweatshirt is.....a lot

its good and uplifting to not dress in the most casual manner all the time imo

rn i am wearing a baggy cream colored sweatshirt that says ALASKA on it, with some kind of nautical design (ropes, anchors, signal flags) below that

wearing wool apc trousers tho no jeans this is a workplace

i have a tee with a whale on it that says hawaii

jk i made that up

my whale tee really says "they roam the ocean in peace..." (continued on back) "with no enemy... except man"

i did used to have a tee with a sailboat on that said hawaii and one time i met this girl and she was wearing that tee except it said block island

i wanna wear nerd/joke tshirts to parties and stuff see how 'interestingly boring' i can get my personal look

when i was an 'ironic teen' i had my parents bring me back tshirts from the places theyd go and wear them. had a dope looking one from sao paolo that i particularly liked, kinda modish line drawings of skyscrapers

one time i dressed up as a lax bro for halloween with a jerry bear lax tee and a white cocks cap and boat shoes and everyone was all decided not to dress up this year huh even tho i was carrying a mini lax stick

What color shirts should I get in case of job interviews? My suits are charcoal and very dark navy. Also ties?

I asked the tailor where I bought my suit and he showed me a purple shirt but that seems weird somehow. Maybe not conservative enough? And white seems unimaginative. And with choices of ties in the equation I definitely need help.

That question seems kind of beneath this thread but I would appreciate any counsel!

white, only white plz, maybe some occasional lines on there but still mostly white, or colors closely approximating white, imho

if u have a dark suit and a white shirt u can wear whatever beautiful tie u want, except one thats the same color as the suit

i've worn a purple shirt with a dark navy suit for a couple of my medical school interviews, i dont think that color scheme is too flashy or anything

If it's an interview then I would say 1) no solid color ties but 2) solid color w/ texture or pattern is okay 3) nothing weird, man

i'm thinking about going with a white shirt for my next one tho, it's a little safer i guess

its better it looks better colored dress shirts are a scourge

I'm a little flummoxed b/c I so rarely ever wear a suit, and never in a situation like a job interview w/ pretty tight parameters of what's appropriate.

that look that screams businessman at event to encourage success in local teens

I'm remember David Foster Wallace's thing about wearing a tuxedo-print tshirt to the formal dinner on a cruise.

the traditional intent of job interview dress is to look neat without having anything about your wardrobe stand out. you don't want to wear anything that could distract the interviewer.

this is a little much imo but prob good advice on the whole.

white shirt is good. either suit sounds good. black shoes. a nice tie with a simple stripe or neat pattern in a darker color is the way to go. nothing too shiny!

Oh yeh -- I was thinking about brown shoes (idk what you call it but they're this dark tan, camel? color that I love) w/ either suit. Is that inadvisable?

it's a lighter shade of purple but its also got v thin stripes alternating purple and white, so it's definitely lighter. the tie is a darker purple with some style, i cant find a picture online but it's a tino cosma
