this is back a couple subjects, but is it just me or do the suitsupply jackets in their photos all look a little too long? I think that's what bothers me about their suit pics, they all look long and floppy.

THE CLASSIC RULE is for the jacket to be long enough to cover yr butt, yr probably just used to see mid butt length suit jackets via the skinny suit trend

I am a fan of mid butt jackets because I have a long torso and short legs

btw, a tailor showed me a very well-made charcoal pinstripe suit yesterday that was close to my size, and that he could sell me for $280 including all alterations. but I think I have pinstripe hangups. am I dumb for not taking him up on it? can charcoal pinstripes be ok? I associate them with ugly suits worn by business people.

Have all my Steven Alan stuff now, it's definitely nice -- was trying to put my finger on what puts it above J. Crew or something and i'd say the cuts are more nicely tailored, the construction looks tighter/sharper/better around the seams, the fabrics feel softer and look stronger. Very happy with the shirts especially, think I'm going to pick up one or two every time they're on super-sale like this. Still impossible to fathom paying what they normally sell for, doesn't seem worth that much money.

WRT Suit Supply, I think it might partly be the build of the models, but I feel like there's something a little off about the combo of the super-narrow pants that practically cling to the thighs with the slightly larger jackets than currently trendy. I also like short jackets for the same reason as Dayo -- I'm not very tall and have short legs.

I'm all about trying to analyze the details of suits now.

how do we feel about the huge overcoat trend when you are 5"6 and carrying a bit of a spare tyre on an otherwise slender frame, is this something that can work? I like coats and warmth a lot.
