wool w that speckled look is often tweed

lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 21:43 (eleven years ago)

yeah it sounds like you're looking for a slim flannel trouser that's cut more "fashion" than "classic" if that makes any sense.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 21:43 (eleven years ago)

like brooks bros black fleece though i haven't looked at that line recently

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 21:45 (eleven years ago)

fwiw stevie i have two pairs of those norse projects wool trousers (non-cropped) and they were the first thing that came to mind reading your post. i dont know if theres a name for them other than 'wool trousers' which is what i have always called them. also they are really great and super warm f

wizaerd (Lamp), Wednesday, 21 January 2015 04:18 (eleven years ago)

yeah "wool trousers" or maybe "flannel trousers". get them hemmed with cuffs at desired height.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 21 January 2015 09:45 (eleven years ago)

Sounds a bit like moleskin pants.

bit of a singles monster (Eazy), Wednesday, 21 January 2015 15:14 (eleven years ago)

well i got the smaller patagonia and its still huge i give up, it actually fits mostly in a slouchy manner except the sleeves are super wide at the shoulder so it bunches up under my armpits idk man i really liked the idea

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 January 2015 16:25 (eleven years ago)

maybe i will go to the store and try on some other ones at some point

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 January 2015 16:25 (eleven years ago)

i tried to get one of those patagonias too but it also fit big/weird, took it to the store to try more on and all the pullovers fit sorta odd tbh

hug niceman (psychgawsple), Friday, 23 January 2015 02:30 (eleven years ago)

lol @ everybody's failed patagonia pullover attempts

marcos, Friday, 23 January 2015 15:38 (eleven years ago)

I'm kind of sad. I was really rooting for it to work for one of you.

carl agatha, Friday, 23 January 2015 15:41 (eleven years ago)

ha it is pretty funny the great 2015 ils fleece hysteria

lag∞n, Friday, 23 January 2015 15:42 (eleven years ago)

worked for me though i consider the weird fit part of the charm

carl agatha, Friday, 23 January 2015 15:47 (eleven years ago)

embrace the ill fit and get a knit acrylic headband

lean into patagonia

shit's obviously artisanal (Will M.), Friday, 23 January 2015 16:35 (eleven years ago)

fyi Steven Alan has a pretty sick sale right now, extra 40% off final sale Steven Alan branded items, 25% off non-SA sale items. I ordered a sweater, some chinos, a long-sleeve and a short-sleeve button down shirt. Shit was moving fast though, stuff that was in my cart sold out before I could buy it.

fwiw i am totally going to attempt that floral patagonia regardless just bummed out hearing all the negative reax so far itt

i have also been wearing ill-fitting baggy thriftstore sweatshirts over my faded oxfords all winter long, great look imo but not as advanced

wizaerd (Lamp), Friday, 23 January 2015 17:21 (eleven years ago)

lol steven alan lists the norse projects parka i have for more than double what norse store does, still more expensive on sale + additional 25%

lag∞n, Friday, 23 January 2015 17:30 (eleven years ago)

Damn capitalists

prob my current fav garment is a slouchy oversized crewneck sweatshirt, the issue w the patagonia as i see it is the arm holes at the shoulder are huge and this causes weird bunching cause the fleece has some rigidity to it where sweat material doesnt, wld prob work with diff fleece

lag∞n, Friday, 23 January 2015 17:32 (eleven years ago)

u sure it's the exact same one? That's weird.

They have the spiewak parka I wanted again, but it would be absurd to buy after already buying another black parka.

walid foster dulles (man alive), Friday, 23 January 2015 17:34 (eleven years ago)

exact same one mane

lag∞n, Friday, 23 January 2015 17:36 (eleven years ago)

The Steven Alan brand stuff are the deals in that sale anyway

walid foster dulles (man alive), Friday, 23 January 2015 17:36 (eleven years ago)

what weekend bags do you all use - been looking for a while for a duffle with no real details to it - i had one from topman which lasted a surprisingly long time. it's always so hard to find this kind of thing.

Moyes Enthusiast (LocalGarda), Friday, 23 January 2015 17:37 (eleven years ago)

btw i have vowed many times to stop online buying things on final sale but i cant help myself, totally whiffed on my last steven alan order but managed to guilt trip them into taking the whole order back cause they neglected to remove a security tag from one of the items

lag∞n, Friday, 23 January 2015 17:37 (eleven years ago)

i use ll bean tote w zipper and long handles 4 weekend bag, i have the xl but large is a fine size for weekend, u can custom make any colors too which is cool if ur not into the standard two tone, not sure if thats ur type of thing tho

lag∞n, Friday, 23 January 2015 17:39 (eleven years ago)

I'm the opposite, I've stopped myself so many times buying the final sale stuff from SA that I went a little overboard this time from "pent up demand" -- wound up adding two more things, some shorts and another shirt.

walid foster dulles (man alive), Friday, 23 January 2015 17:42 (eleven years ago)

got a pic?

i don't mind colours but figure for a big i just want grey or black or navy so it can age more gracefully. i don't intend to buy one again for as long as possible.

xpost

*for a bag

Moyes Enthusiast (LocalGarda), Friday, 23 January 2015 17:42 (eleven years ago)

FWIW I rocked one of the new Peter Millar "classic fit" suits yesterday and got a lot of complements. A classic fit a size down seems to fit me better than the trim fit suit I bought last year. I'm probably just not a trim enough dude to look good in a trim suit, and I had bought a jacket with shoulders a little too big to compensate. This one fits exactly the way I want a suit to fit. Color is great too, blue like a shade or two lighter than navy with a very faint plaid on it.

Kind of similar to this suit except the plaid is different:

this one doesnt have the zip top but u get the idea, mine is old and formless at this point which is nice, at first the canvas is pretty stiff tho as depicted

walid foster dulles (man alive), Friday, 23 January 2015 18:01 (eleven years ago)

also i use a small one for my computer bag, tho i dont carry all day, just like when im moving

lag∞n, Friday, 23 January 2015 18:02 (eleven years ago)

weekend bag do you mean like "taking a trip for the weekend" or "casual non-work bag that you carry around town"

marcos, Friday, 23 January 2015 18:07 (eleven years ago)

was assuming weekend trip fwiw

lag∞n, Friday, 23 January 2015 18:25 (eleven years ago)

that's my working definition of weekend bag. i have a herschel duffel bag which has an extremely useful shoe compartment so you can pack a second pair of shoes without worrying about them fucking up your clothes.

call all destroyer, Friday, 23 January 2015 19:15 (eleven years ago)

That is surely a step up from my throw the shoes into a plastic bag approach

, Friday, 23 January 2015 19:17 (eleven years ago)

thats what i do
