I have a dark blue "raw" pair of uniqlo jeans and a light grey pair, they're alright for everyday use but they're slightly too soft and floppy for my preferences. I still haven't invested in a high-end pair of jeans. Almost ordered some APC new standards when they were on sale for $130 at Steven Alan, kind of regret not doing it.

There's definitely something weirdly soft about uniqlo denim, they make it a selling point but I don't love it.

but yea I think levis it is. Maybe the raw denim 501s? A little freaked out about figuring out sizing and maintenance

Ignore Levi's suggestions on sizing up on the waist unless you want retro farmer look.

one solution - two waist sizes down from normal vanity sizing, inseam 2-4 inches longer. Quick tub soak, hang dry. Wear cuffed or not until too nasty and then tub soak again with woolite dark, or replace.

another solution - normal waist size, longer inseam. Machine wash and dry as normal but avoid spin cycle if you can.

But yea I am more worried about fucking up the waist size because if it's too small then I can't wear them. Length is easier to be flexible around, if thy are too long then I can cuff them

btw I am definitely getting black. Seems somehow bizarre to me to wear blue pants even though blue jeans are like the most common thing people wear

i've never fuxed w/ 501's but i am a p skinny dude w/ p skinny legs so i feel like this will be a bit nagl for me vs. a slimmer cut

the leg openings of 501s are a little big imo but with the black color and they way they treat them to be soft/floppy u dont notice as much where itd prob be the opposite crispy blue ones

levis def has some nice slim cuts that my thighs/ass are too big to fit in

lol, honestly if you're not into 3 dimensional jeans shrinking chess and button flys you can just buy regular 505s in a decent color that fit okay off the rack. you can just tell people you're normcore, it'll be cool.

511s are not that slim, really. I think they are the best jeans ever created.

i was back in knoxville for the holidays and visited approx 5 department stores, none of which sold anything but straight/regular or "relaxed" fits of jeans wtf

511s are slim! They're not crustpunk slim but they're fairly slim ime

i have one pair of 511s that fit, but 90% that i have ever tried on are either way too stretchy or can't fit past my thighs.

ok so with raw denim or "shrink to fit" you don't actually ever wash them and the "shrinking" is only performed via some hot water bathtub thing or other similar trick? Just trying to get this straight, i haven't worn denim in a very long time and even in the past never wore it much

I got a pair of raw denim jeans a few months ago and was kinda terrified about the whole no wash thing but it's been surprisingly easy. Wearing them probably over 50% of the time, only seemed a little funky once so I hung them outside for a few hours. They are naked and famous BTW and I am suuuuuuuuper happy with them one of the best fits and quality pairs of jeans I have ever owned. Also I used to be a big time spiller but have somehow missed them with food? Also you can spot clean no problem

my beautiful big blue puffy parka got stolen at a bar in houston on tour so i picked this less puffy one up at macy's. not ideal but i like the contrast of dark blue with white fur inside the hood

It's 4 degrees out now so that fleece looks like a super good idea.

i had a fleece like that in high school (not patagonia, maybe land's end?), but you have to be careful with that color because i felt like i was wearing a big sheepskin coat. i liked it on the rack but i always felt self-conscious wearing it. my brother had the same thing in dark brown and it was much better
