one of my good friends in college was totally this LA spacy yoga dude was super super friendly and genuine and he would wear his hair in a bun when doing yoga

yea i typically shower at night since i get up with my son in the morning, so i have pretty bad bedhead all the time

I think the hitler youth haircut looks good but I feel that 20 years from now it's going to feel very of an era the way that this does now:

hah i've been gradually heading toward that hitler youth haircut if only because it seems like it will grow out well, i can deal w/having longer hair on the top but i hate messy back/sides and having hair over my ears. i prob am too much of a wuss to go full buzzcut on the back/sides tho.

i wore a bun sometimes in high school its p corny tho

feel like casual ponytail is trending for dudes maybe this is 'seattle hair' kinda dont get that

its seattle maybe cause the hair is stylishly ignored/distressed

/dirty/oily/powerfully grunge

distressed is such a hilarious word

the hair is panicking literally

The fashionable haircut capital of the world is Korea tho imo

Everybody there has thick black hair that can be straight but can also naturally wavy or curly and it is all very powerful and beautiful

my father-in-law bought this country-style dining room table for their house in VT and told me "the best thing about this table is that it doesn't matter if it gets knicked, the style is 'distressed'!!"

dads dream of a thing its ok to not care about fulfilled

xxp noticed the same thing about lima peru and santiago chile -- thick black hair everywhere and there were some really crazy cuts. lots of bad mullet-style cuts though too

although i personally dislike long hair on men i can understand why its desirable rn just moving away from the whole 'digital creative' look

Sometimes I wonder about whether haircuts in other countries are ironic but I just miss the irony bc of lack of context

Irony is kinda a western concept tbh

yea it's hard to know. the mullets seemed too common to be ironic though, they were very popular among 18-20 year olds

my hair is too curly to ever have that long seattle style stoner metal-style hair that i admire on people like merzbow or j mascis. the longer my hair gets the more i look like those two dudes from at the drive-in, which was definitely a look i rocked in college though, it worked

can u imagine what the world will look like when asia goes ironic my lord

can we dig a lil deeper into the post digital creative look, feel like the pants are still tapered but a lil more relaxed, like thye look like they could maybe have some paint splatters ont hem

also feel like in post digital creative, those standard black frames buddy holly glasses are a little out - people are going for more colorful frames or going for more natural brown type frames maybe? really like these types i've been seeing a lot:

Thick black plastic frames have been out for a while now imo, Warby Parker not withstanding

I saw an older lawyer rockin' the thick black frames recently and making it work really well, but old lawyer style is its own separate thing.

yea on older folks i think black frames can look very good

there is this lawyer at the university i work at who has a totally shaved head and wears HUGE black frames, he's probably 40 or something

I recently bought a vintage pendleton B&W herringbone pattern coat that has very not-contemporary lapels and I'm kind of liking it. It has slightly odd pockets too, and also those big black old-man buttons which I have always loved. And the shape is a little straighter and more "sack" like than the super-tapered coats you see around now. Just kind of liking having a coat with some features that are not standard right now although the pattern looks very much in line with a lot of coats I see.

ohh a colleague had a coat yesterday that totally had that "sack" look and it looked great! it was wool and had a green tweed kind of fabric, i totally dug it

i went to the j press sample sale today and tried on a $2400 coat

reduced to $400 but it was too big

and it made me look like a FIFA board member
