Large only, but it seems like a tight-cut jacket and I wouldn't mind it being a little loose

Price is good. My only other thing is that I wonder if it looks a little "boyish" or something - can't put my finger on why.

haha, i know what you mean. i don't think that would come to mind if i saw it on an adult, but i could totally see my 18-month old son rocking a mini version of that coat.

not necessarily a bad thing, there are a fair amount of his clothes that i would legitimately love to have an adult version of

Anyone know anything about these guys or other orgs like them? I live in a very rural area but still want to look good. I need virtual access to fine men's fashions

lag∞n, Tuesday, 1 April 2014 15:53 (twelve years ago)

Oh hey remember when I asked about those Uniqlo socks? I bought a few pairs and I really like them. Surprising quality for the cost, will buy those cheap socks again.

lag∞n, Tuesday, 1 April 2014 15:58 (twelve years ago)

i've had pretty good success with topshop socks as well, they have some pretty dece patterns/colors and they last roughly as long as the really expensive socks i buy

dude (Lamp), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 16:00 (twelve years ago)

I have a frank and oak shirt and it's fine. Nice pattern, ok material, pretty good cut. It's a good additional option to have for everyday stuff that isn't billowy and oversized -- although actually the pants and shorts I tried were cut a bit narrow for me. My co-worker orders a good amount from them and says their cuts vary a lot and it can be hard to tell when you order, but otoh easy returns.

james franco tur(oll)ing test (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 16:02 (twelve years ago)

Seems like the kind of place where you can wind up ordering six things and returning four or five.

james franco tur(oll)ing test (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 16:03 (twelve years ago)

Oh and the "club" thing is a little confusing -- it means agreeing to a monthly amount until you cancel iirc. I got a little confused about that but was eventually able to cancel without paying any extra money, they were cool about it.

james franco tur(oll)ing test (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 16:04 (twelve years ago)

Thanks. I have lost a bunch of weight (like, 14 pounds) over the past 3-4 months and I was not super overweight to begin with, but now I have no idea what size I am anymore. All my 32" pants are super-baggy all of a sudden. I guess I might need to bulk up a bit again.

I have a bunch of frank and oak clothes I got at a pop up store they opened here. Nice stuff - good quality for serious value.

their ads just reinforce my tinfoil suspicion that the earth is being subtly invaded by bearded hipster aliens that want us all to chop our own wood

brimstead, Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:28 (twelve years ago)

see look how that store just "popped up", highly suspicious

Just finishing off a new shirt. A floral take on a 19th century missouri riverman shirt. Been wanting to do it for months but am really behind.
&it seems to be taking me longer than it should to construct things. Hope its just this cold/flu slowing me down cos I can't see how I'd go faster.
Got 2 other shirts part done & finished a pair of striped jeans last week.
Next project is a frock coat I think. Unless I go for a different cut of jeans first.

Stevolende, Wednesday, 28 May 2014 07:11 (twelve years ago)

I heard that the proper length for your cuff is the same as your beard, since people and beards are all proportioned differently.

Orson Wellies (in orbit), Wednesday, 28 May 2014 13:12 (twelve years ago)

NA was over on Sunday and he commented that he needed new socks and I told him ALL ABOUT Uniqlo socks and made him fondle three pairs of them and he accused me of being a social media brand manager for Uniqlo.

carl agatha, Wednesday, 28 May 2014 13:16 (twelve years ago)

I forgot to pack 6 out of the 7 pairs of Uniqlo socks I bought and they're somewhere in SHanghai :(

, Wednesday, 28 May 2014 13:25 (twelve years ago)

It's cool though because I just have an excuse to buy more uniqlo socks

, Wednesday, 28 May 2014 13:25 (twelve years ago)

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 10:54 (twelve years ago)

i do have many pairs of uniqlos tho and am their social media brand manager because sometimes u have to wear them even if u dont want to

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 10:55 (twelve years ago)

I'm going to a wedding in the south of France in July and I'm wondering what to wear. I have a feeling I'll perish if I wear my John Lewis woolen suit (it's hot enough on the tube in mid-February).

My question is, what can I wear as an alternative? Would people generally wear suits at weddings in hot climates? Is there a place I can get something a bit lighter and cooler for the summer?

now I'm the grandfather (dog latin), Tuesday, 3 June 2014 11:48 (twelve years ago)

yeah man get a cotton suit

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 12:27 (twelve years ago)

chinavision!, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 12:55 (twelve years ago)

go for a rumpled look

chinavision!, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 12:55 (twelve years ago)

yup a lightweight cotton or linen suit is the top option (I think lightweight wools are nice, but tend to be £££). Not much call for the cream/khaki look in England, so a blue maybe.

You could try v sharp slacks (cream/khaki) + contrast lightweight blazer (something slightly less golf-club than navy). I imagine that'd be acceptable at most hot weddings. M&S do a lot of that sort of thing if you don't mind being a bit middle-aged.

But check yr invitation and consult with friends!

woof, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 13:00 (twelve years ago)

Cheers guys!

now I'm the grandfather (dog latin), Tuesday, 3 June 2014 13:01 (twelve years ago)

chinavision otm - if that (or something like it) is in budget, & you think another suit would be useful in general, you could visit the london branch of suitsupply.
