Yeah, do it!

You can always go back to red so why not? Granted I may be biased because you were blonde when I first met you but I liked you with blonde!

Alright I will!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Saturday, 1 February 2014 01:27 (twelve years ago)

:D

If you really don't like it just remember you can do it red any time and it's something different so why the hell not try?

Airwrecka Bliptrap Blapmantis (ENBB), Saturday, 1 February 2014 01:35 (twelve years ago)

lol it does not appear to be lightening very much, perhaps I am simply destined to stay orange.. Or needed to do some bleaching if I expected to see any real change. Oh well. I'll leave it in a while more and see where it ends up!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Saturday, 1 February 2014 02:41 (twelve years ago)

from your old blonde pics on fb, i think that you look great with that color - but the red is just more *you*.

just1n3, Saturday, 1 February 2014 03:02 (twelve years ago)

You guuuuuuys, so my stylists offers free "clean ups" for the neck on short hair, and I went for one today because I can't afford a real haircut but it was out of control. So then she basically gave me a whole haircut! I said, let's keep this to a reasonable trim, so I can pay you for a real one later! and she was like, I appreciate that but don't be silly, I'm happy to help you go a few more weeks. Then she wouldn't even accept a tip.

My horrible urchin hair was really bringing me down and it was beautiful and Stef just totally took care of me. It was lovely.

Orson Wellies (in orbit), Saturday, 1 February 2014 03:22 (twelve years ago)

Wow that's fantastic io!

Thanks J :) I agree reds have become my signature, it'd be nice to change it up, though!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Saturday, 1 February 2014 03:24 (twelve years ago)

I think I gave her like four hugs. It's really meant a lot to me lately when people have taken care of me because they know I don't have any money. They've been feeding me and getting my drinks--my neighbor keeps hanging bags of wine and beer on my door handle like a little booze fairy--and not letting me pay for lunch or anything, and I feel so cradled in my community/all my communities. Bless.

Orson Wellies (in orbit), Saturday, 1 February 2014 03:25 (twelve years ago)

That is a wonderful feeling. The first few months after I got laid off, people were nice about doing little acts of kindness for me and it gave me that same happy community glow. :)

aw orbit that made me teary, so glad yr ppl are taking care of u

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 1 February 2014 07:46 (twelve years ago)

Aw IO that is awesome. Your are good ppl and that is now manifest--assholes don't get taken care of. Maybe you can do a mani for someone who couldn't otherwise swing it!

quincie, Saturday, 1 February 2014 08:34 (twelve years ago)

Mani-fest

kinder, Saturday, 1 February 2014 09:54 (twelve years ago)

Haha I've given so many free manicures. Pretty much for any friend who doesn't absolutely insist on paying me. And I will take dinner and a bottle of wine in exchange, so

Orson Wellies (in orbit), Saturday, 1 February 2014 14:43 (twelve years ago)

I look a little crazy but if I buy a peachey blonde to go on top I can even it out a little.. I hope! Good god I don't feel like Lex, wow.

Oooo neat! I like it.

carl agatha, Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:18 (twelve years ago)

I had a dream a few nights ago that I dyed my hair platinum and lavender. I loved it! To bad I can't do it in real life. Stupid job.

carl agatha, Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:19 (twelve years ago)

Part of the reason I threw so much caution to the wind is that I'm in college and just working retail!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:21 (twelve years ago)

it looks excellent! nothing like changing things up every now and then

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:22 (twelve years ago)

currently sitting here with 10min clairol box dye in my hair -- nothing v exciting, just dark auburn, which will hopefully be dark enough to get the gray out, which is all I really want. having short hair sure as hell makes homedying so much easier.

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:25 (twelve years ago)

dyeing even

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:25 (twelve years ago)

What's the best home dye to cover gray? I have very color resistant hair alas.

carl agatha, Saturday, 1 February 2014 22:16 (twelve years ago)

i know it's kind of the grandma brand but I have found clairol natural instinct works great, and it's fast. and it comes with a 2nd week touchup

idk, my hair is v fine though & takes on dye pretty easily so ymmv

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 1 February 2014 22:29 (twelve years ago)

FFM I like the ombre look on you, please consider rocking it for awhile!

quincie, Sunday, 2 February 2014 02:25 (twelve years ago)

i would, but it's not really gradual, designer definite sift about mid way down my head and it bugs me. Also the second my light brown roots grow in, it will throw off the hallmark exclamation point

damn this dictation software. if it types the wrong word, i can't seem to delete it!

"Whole look!"=hallmark :P

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Sunday, 2 February 2014 03:04 (twelve years ago)

Oh Jesus I proofread poorly. Damn my lazy, anti-typing ways! (Using my new tablet.) There's a definite cut in the hair where it goes from platinum to peach, its a bit weird. If reversed I might consider it but it is SO blonde right at the top and the brown roots will make the whole thing look terrible IMO

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Sunday, 2 February 2014 03:06 (twelve years ago)

also VG a few grey hairs aren't worth dying over! ;)

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Sunday, 2 February 2014 03:07 (twelve years ago)

lol - actually the grey isn't really a thing with me I just decided to get it all dyed up for the wedding

it's a really rich red now, I kinda dig it

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 2 February 2014 04:26 (twelve years ago)

Nice! The people demand pictures, of course.

Woo!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Sunday, 2 February 2014 06:46 (twelve years ago)

Oh WOW! I like that, it's so warm and bronze!

Orson Wellies (in orbit), Sunday, 2 February 2014 07:40 (twelve years ago)

Gorgeous color! I've always wanted to give red a whirl, but after my one and only (disastrous) dye job experience, have decided significant color change is not for me.

Kinda wanna get some dark dark blue or dark dark purple strands tucked into my (v. dark brown) hair, but not sure if that will fly at a hospital internship.

Oh fuck it, I'll do it. But first I have to learn enough Chinese to communicate it.

quincie, Sunday, 2 February 2014 11:27 (twelve years ago)

I assume it would be easy enough to cover over dark blue/dark purple with some dark brown? IDK maybe not? Please advise, oh hair dye mavens!

quincie, Sunday, 2 February 2014 11:28 (twelve years ago)

I would assume you could cover it, but if they bleach it too severely (like I did! heyo!) it could be liable to fade to lighter brown until it's been died a few times, ime - but it's been a long time since I dyed my hair dark, and I'm naturally a light brunette. But your hair looks healthy as hell, so why not?

Here is a squinty eyed picture of my final hair (three dyeing/bleaching sessions! eep) looking quite a bit more even. Please excuse red face - cold outside & I have this damned cold; I hope my skin tone will suit this hair colour better once my nose isn't peeling from constantly blowing it :P

I have to figure out makeup for this hair colour, my usual lipstick looks a little goofy now (just wearing gloss in that picture though). I got a cheap cut after work to chop off the really fried ends, not really visible by iPhone camera but pretty obvious irl

Thank you for reading a novel about my hair, sheesh

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Monday, 3 February 2014 04:11 (twelve years ago)

I really like it!

Airwrecka Bliptrap Blapmantis (ENBB), Monday, 3 February 2014 04:12 (twelve years ago)

i do too, you look lovely.

estela, Monday, 3 February 2014 04:15 (twelve years ago)

So pretty and strawberry-blondey! I think you have tons of makeup options with that.

quincie, Monday, 3 February 2014 07:45 (twelve years ago)

You're all so nice! Makes me feel a little more confident. :) Thanks!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Monday, 3 February 2014 11:45 (twelve years ago)

Wow, FFM that looks really good. You did a great job!

carl agatha, Monday, 3 February 2014 13:27 (twelve years ago)

i love it! honestly i like it better than primary color red because it's gentler on your pretty skin.

we slowly invented brains (La Lechera), Monday, 3 February 2014 14:33 (twelve years ago)

It's funny: indoors and irl it's basically just blonde with a touch of peach; in the sun or photos it's the crazy shade you saw up there! I like that crayon red was so intense that it made my skin look very white (imo) but this is really growing on me. I'm even starting to recognize myself when I passed mirrors! None of the boys in my program noticed that I did anything, though. I guess it had been pretty faded for the last few weeks so it's not that surprising.

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Monday, 3 February 2014 22:02 (twelve years ago)

Peach is exactly what I thought when I saw that, so! It's beautiful - subtle and lovely.

ljubljana, Monday, 3 February 2014 22:48 (twelve years ago)

V. Nice, FFM! As someone who has been through the how-the-fuck-do-I-get-this-orange-out cycle way too many times your result is A+

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 4 February 2014 01:58 (twelve years ago)

one month passes...

Hey I got my hairs did ROYAL BLUE (well, not all of it, sections) and I am enjoying it. My first thought when it was being blown out was YES! MY MOM IS TOTALLY GOING TO *HATE* THIS! which is pretty lol for a 40 year old to be taking pleasure in disturbing her mother with her hair choices.

quincie, Friday, 14 March 2014 01:50 (twelve years ago)

Alas, I don't think it is appropriate to be rocking blue hair in a v. srs. hospital environment, so I'll have those sections dyed over to like a deep plum or something before I start my internship. You can do that, right? Like, red+blue will = purple, or does hair dye not work that way? Hope I don't to have it bleached again.

quincie, Friday, 14 March 2014 01:52 (twelve years ago)

Omg! Pics?
