If you can find Vince sweaters priced well at Nordstrom Rack, Marshall's, etc., they're terrific. Pricey at full price, but I've gotten mine for $50-ish.

i dont own that much uniqlo aside from my extensive underwear and sock collection but i did realize i was wearing a uniqlo jacket over a uniqlo sweater the other day and stopped to wonder how that made me feel

i used to have that issue but not so much anymore, i was just thinking the other day how each item was from a diff brand and this made me happy.

what bags do you all use? been looking for a good day-to-day bag for ages, feels like something worth spending a bit on as you can have it for years, but the options don't seem great.

do you use ebay? or actual shops? i always mean to find out what second-hand shops are good in london, cos all the east end ones are shit.

have picked up a few good blazers on ebay, got a kenzo one for 60 quid earlier this year.

ebay mostly... i've lost track with actual shops (esp since old hat closed down) but london prices have rarely been forgiving anyway. kinda miss the house clearance shop in my ex's home town more than i do her tbh :/

ah i didn't know that it closed, old hat was one of the few good ones. only made the pilgrimage over there once, tho i work in hammersmith these days and often thought i should go back.

ebay is a bit of a trawl but i feel like i'm getting better at digging on it.

must say i've only heard it closed rather than checked myself (i too rarely had any reason to be round there although the bookshop down from putney bridge station was really good and cheap and there's that ale pub down the alley). possibly they might be appointment only now or something idk

ebay is def a dispiritingly uphill schlep to begin with but you certainly do get what you put in. (bags you were asking about yesterday are a particularly rich seam i'd suggest btw)

normal size, leather is quite supple and also sumptuous so theyll def stretch 2 fit too

got a tweed jacket thrifting in philly this weekend. fits pretty well, but still gonna get it tailored this week sometime.

I have a buffalo sweater, like with a giant buffalo in the middle of it, that I got from my grandfather. It's a pretty nice sweater, but it's exactly the kind of thing you want to wear once in a while to a party, like a few times a year. I also have a v-neck sweater/sweatshirt with this sort of duck-hunting landscape across the shoulders and chest, same idea.

I almost like that fox sweater. Something about the leaves bothers me.

still haven't had a chance to wear the tie in the opening post :/

the leaves kind of make it for me, and the jaunty way the fox is walking.

uniqlo lambswool sweaters are $20 and pill like crazy on my belly after 3 wears. i guess i rub my belly a lot. should i:

1) buy one of those absurd sweater shavers
2) just buy loads of uniqlo lambswool sweaters
3) buy a new fancy shetland sweater that allegedly doesn't pill via longer threads
4) thrift store urrrrgh

if you have an electric razor and are careful you can just trim the sweater w/ that ime

the electric shaver things but for heads work well

5) learn to love the pill

yah by 'electric razor' i too meant the thing for heads which isn't really a 'razor' idk i was confused
