I've never been sure which was the american spelling, and I've always preferred grey (when I see "gray" I hear it pronounced as rhyming with "ray" as pronounced by bill murray in ghostbusters

I'm a fan of Austin Reed - not exactly hip but good quality (suits are half-canvassed, that kind of thing) and they do excellent sale discounts.

would be interested to hear too. i use a guy on globe road, bethnal green, but i've never given him a really expensive pair of trousers to redo, not that the results haven't been good with cheaper pairs.

i also don't really have a clue what i'm doing when i explain what i want.

go to expensive neighborhoods like the UES and look for tailors there

last time i had to get stuff done i went to this guy in williamsburg named arthur that my friend recommended, he did a great job, kind of a character, lives in a big loft near the train, has two little dogs, wears jorts year round

anyway lmk if you want his number he doesnt have a storefront or anything you have to do it by appointment

i get my hemming and patching done by a turkish guy on mare street who runs a dry cleaning business; i have never found better prices and it's so satisfying to dump off a big stack of "problem" garments and get them all back ready for action

although i think to write off home-office spaces you need to have them separated off by a wall

you should just write it off anyway, likelihood of being audited is quite low and theyre probably not gonna do it over a couple thousand dollars in taxes saved via business deductions

and if you do it might make for a nice story to write abt, also just buy a few ikea bookshelves or something and put em in before the taxman shows up

unimaginative, but if you don't have a pair of brown leather desert boots they are a good staple

ha i do and i never wear them, this shape of shoe is just i dont think right for my foot/vibe

polos just don't look good on my body tho i still have a bunch. i think my faves are actually a couple i have from american apparel.
