the pants look normal to me

my only concern would be the shade of gray is a tad light

but for $300 seems like you cant go wrong

乒乓, Friday, 13 September 2013 22:32 (twelve years ago)

yeah in the photo of the pants by themselves the cut looks pretty normal

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Friday, 13 September 2013 22:35 (twelve years ago)

fit's essential, and Steven Alan's web store can be a little light with the info, so i'd be careful since it's not returnable. images can be a little misleading by themselves.

Spectrum, Friday, 13 September 2013 22:37 (twelve years ago)

need really good navy chinos. suggestions?

the late great, Friday, 13 September 2013 22:39 (twelve years ago)

look at the leg opening on those pants they r v skinny at least at the bottom

lag∞n, Friday, 13 September 2013 22:43 (twelve years ago)

tbh i would not risk $300 on an unreturnable internet suit

call all destroyer, Saturday, 14 September 2013 02:18 (twelve years ago)

hurting just goto the store and try it on, you can find where its in stock on the site

lag∞n, Saturday, 14 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)

oh word, tyty

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Saturday, 14 September 2013 03:14 (twelve years ago)

wait you sure? I can't figure out how

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Saturday, 14 September 2013 03:17 (twelve years ago)

you can call the Steven Alan stores to see if they have the size you want in stock; if not, email the e-com people for measurements. if none of that works, you're SOL unless you want to gamble $300 on it fitting or not

Spectrum, Saturday, 14 September 2013 03:19 (twelve years ago)

if it's a different brand than Steven Alan you can try to contact the vendor/brand to see if they have measurements, too

I really like those red wings, too classic to be cliche imo

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Saturday, 14 September 2013 03:39 (twelve years ago)

this might be the booze talking, but i'm getting in the mood for baggier, looser tops. i might buy some new sweaters ... a sizer larger than usual.

Just saw a guy wearing red trousers and green suede boat shoes. Along with a dark blue jumper over blue/white striped shirt. And a ginger beard.

it trips me out the Red Wing shoes are an international Thing considering that they are based in a tiny town 15 minutes away from my parents' house

am I crazy? I'm thinking of buying this in a 38L. I have another jacket of theirs in the same size that actually fits me pretty well, and this seems like a good deal and versatile.

no i don't think you're crazy!

call all destroyer, Thursday, 19 September 2013 17:07 (twelve years ago)

good cuz I just bought it. worried it's a bit rash, but I've been so happy with the blazer and I need a wool suit for some upcoming work events.

chinavision!, Thursday, 19 September 2013 17:47 (twelve years ago)

ya seems like a nice gray suit

lag∞n, Thursday, 19 September 2013 17:48 (twelve years ago)

everyone should own a grey suit

caek, Thursday, 19 September 2013 18:11 (twelve years ago)

^ i came up with a useful mnemonic for this - americans use gray with an a so a for americans, the rest of the queen's empire uses grey with an e for enguhland

I've never been sure which was the american spelling, and I've always preferred grey (when I see "gray" I hear it pronounced as rhyming with "ray" as pronounced by bill murray in ghostbusters

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Thursday, 19 September 2013 19:09 (twelve years ago)

I'm a fan of Austin Reed - not exactly hip but good quality (suits are half-canvassed, that kind of thing) and they do excellent sale discounts.

have we of london ilx ever discussed tailors/alterations, not seeing it on search

anyway i could do with a recommendation, i have a v nice pair of trousers need taking in that i'm not sure i trust my current randomly selected place with

r|t|c, Friday, 27 September 2013 15:18 (twelve years ago)

would be interested to hear too. i use a guy on globe road, bethnal green, but i've never given him a really expensive pair of trousers to redo, not that the results haven't been good with cheaper pairs.

i also don't really have a clue what i'm doing when i explain what i want.

Evil Juice Box Man (LocalGarda), Saturday, 28 September 2013 11:50 (twelve years ago)

any tailor recommendations for nyc?

chinavision!, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 16:02 (twelve years ago)

go to expensive neighborhoods like the UES and look for tailors there

乒乓, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 16:08 (twelve years ago)

last time i had to get stuff done i went to this guy in williamsburg named arthur that my friend recommended, he did a great job, kind of a character, lives in a big loft near the train, has two little dogs, wears jorts year round

max, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 16:21 (twelve years ago)

anyway lmk if you want his number he doesnt have a storefront or anything you have to do it by appointment

max, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 16:21 (twelve years ago)

there's something beautiful abt trusting your tailored clothing to a jorts-wearer

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 16:24 (twelve years ago)

Ah, I think that might be good for me. The J train is convenient to home too. Can you pm or facebook message me the number maybe?

chinavision!, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 16:40 (twelve years ago)

i get my hemming and patching done by a turkish guy on mare street who runs a dry cleaning business; i have never found better prices and it's so satisfying to dump off a big stack of "problem" garments and get them all back ready for action

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 1 October 2013 16:51 (twelve years ago)

facebooked you

max, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 20:16 (twelve years ago)

chinavision!, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 20:34 (twelve years ago)

Victims’ tears deter rodent paedophiles (darraghmac), Thursday, 3 October 2013 15:47 (twelve years ago)

this arthur guy seems pretty cool. no jorts today, but we bro'd down & I turned him onto a killer anne clark 12" while he helped me finally ID an edm/industrial track I've liked for awhile

chinavision!, Monday, 7 October 2013 23:06 (twelve years ago)

So, not strictly relevant to the topic, but I have to ask: "Our Darkness," "Sleeper in Metropolis," or what?

CAROUSEL! CAROUSEL! (Telephone thing), Thursday, 10 October 2013 02:55 (twelve years ago)

Our Darkness is an all-time classic.

Evil Juice Box Man (LocalGarda), Thursday, 10 October 2013 06:52 (twelve years ago)
