navy collared shirts tracer and black trousers tracer? idgi. dark, non-pattered shirts are what you wear if you work in a mobile phone shop or are german afaict. french blue is fine, but none more darker than that.

black t-shirt or black henley shirt with blue jeans maybe. otherwise no black except shoes and belts. it's a vulgar colour.

here's a menswear question. i am going for a job interview today. i will be interviewed by MY CURRENT BOSS and HIS BOSS. in a little office on the same floor i work on now. several co-workers also have interviews for the same job. how do i dress to impress without seeming like a tit, given that my normal work steez is jeans and t-shirts?

i have asked. the consensus seems to be yes, dress up. even if it seems silly. if it's marginal between me and somebody else and i dressed up and they didn't... GUH

black jeans and a black pea coat are my only black items, and i want to replace the black pea coat with a navy one.

xpost blazer and shirt or shirt and tie with a jumper over it or something, and jeans and shoes, that was my approach in possibly the same office you're talking about tracer!

i don't know if i can go "full tie". i just don't. i haven't worn a tie in about a year and a half.

know a guy got measured in thailand on his honeymoon, gets p. great tailored shirts sent to him every couple of months now.

so what do your boss and his boss wear to work? i don't think you want to out-dress them. without more info i'd say maybe nicer khakis or wool trousers with a sportcoat and a shirt with a quiet pattern?

but if your boss's boss wears a suit, then wear a suit.

they don't wear suits or ties. they wear nice shirts and either jeans or trousers. so i'll match up i think. the nut of my conundrum ultimately is whether to bust out nice shoes. i think i probably will.

one color that goes well with black is black

dark shirts are seen worn regularly by scientist who consider themselves well dressed (i.e. wear hats indoors).

those color combos (dot com) are mostly awful

black suit + a shirt or tie in a bright saturated color = lol u are at prom

I particularly like ColorCombo10, aka "Everyday Is Halloween"

i don't wear a lot of black because it tends to make me look sallow & washed out

even near-blacks like midnight blue and deep charcoal grey are much more forgiving than pure black

that is not a problem for me, which is good given the amount of black I have to wear when performing

it's mostly shit now besides the socks imo, tho worth a look for the odd freak hit. they had great tweed jackets last year, really simple cut and good quality. also linen blazers earlier this year.

and the button down oxford shirts are the best thing they do.
