i've never been to an american wedding

from what i can tell from movies, people wear vince vaughn body suits

one of the weddings im going to is canadian, they just rub you all down w cheesey gravy i assume

I don't see how guys do suits every day in the summer. Just wearing a long sleeve shirt/undershirt/pants and I'm soaked in sweat after my walk to the train station in the morning. I would be a mess in a suit.

i find suit pants / slacks are much cooler in the summer than even lightweight cotton jeans

then you throw on a seersucker jacket

I've been loving RRL's jeans and shirts. I keep thinking they will disappoint me next season, but they've stayed consistent have have improved. This year they have a japanese denim chino!

I meant that they keep improving the quality of the jeans. Through the years, I've fallen in love with different brands of jeans and by a few seasons they change the quality and it goes downhill. Paper denim, Earnest Sewn, so many ones whose names I've forgotten, they all started out making great jeans, but it never lasted. I hope RRL keeps it going. Really perfect jeans if you wear boots and want raw denim.

sometimes i will wear a suit to dinner or something when it isnt strictly necessary but then i end up feeling vaguely ashamed of myself for still playing dress-up in my mid 20s

I gave in and just re-upped my Dockers supply. I've realized that even though they are Dockers, they look a hell of a lot better than the unraveling, threadbare three year old ones I had been wearing.

Agree about the collar though I do like the style. I'd definitely want to try it irl before plonking down £££.

Same, I like to look at things online then go to a shop with a better idea of what I want. Works well IMO.

i used to check that dude's blog just to infuriate myself but then i got drawn in to his whole bizarre world of idle rich australianness and smarmy bicycle-related hashtags and sycophantic relationships with, like, his random australian tailors and i started googling him to try and learn more and i was just in too deep.

after the painful discovery that every jacket i liked was either a) barbour, b) barbour for brand x, or c) knockoff barbour, i made the very awesome discovery that barbour's us hq and outlet store is 20 mins from my place of employment's n.h. office. copped a jacket today--$379 list, i paid $189.

I have the same instinctive bias against Barbour, also RL/Gant/etc - not that e.g. APC is unamenable to a similar analysis, the baggage there is just quite distant from my experience. xps
