乒乓, Wednesday, 28 August 2013 14:56 (twelve years ago)

from what i can tell from movies, people wear vince vaughn body suits

乒乓, Wednesday, 28 August 2013 14:57 (twelve years ago)

one of the weddings im going to is canadian, they just rub you all down w cheesey gravy i assume

lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 August 2013 14:58 (twelve years ago)

I don't see how guys do suits every day in the summer. Just wearing a long sleeve shirt/undershirt/pants and I'm soaked in sweat after my walk to the train station in the morning. I would be a mess in a suit.

i find suit pants / slacks are much cooler in the summer than even lightweight cotton jeans

then you throw on a seersucker jacket

I've been loving RRL's jeans and shirts. I keep thinking they will disappoint me next season, but they've stayed consistent have have improved. This year they have a japanese denim chino!

I meant that they keep improving the quality of the jeans. Through the years, I've fallen in love with different brands of jeans and by a few seasons they change the quality and it goes downhill. Paper denim, Earnest Sewn, so many ones whose names I've forgotten, they all started out making great jeans, but it never lasted. I hope RRL keeps it going. Really perfect jeans if you wear boots and want raw denim.

JacobSanders, Wednesday, 28 August 2013 15:23 (twelve years ago)

sometimes i will wear a suit to dinner or something when it isnt strictly necessary but then i end up feeling vaguely ashamed of myself for still playing dress-up in my mid 20s

I gave in and just re-upped my Dockers supply. I've realized that even though they are Dockers, they look a hell of a lot better than the unraveling, threadbare three year old ones I had been wearing.

Jeff, Thursday, 29 August 2013 12:38 (twelve years ago)

No khaki, all dark.

i already have a mac but this is really cool i think, i prefer it collared down rather than with that funnel, but still.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Thursday, 29 August 2013 22:01 (twelve years ago)

yeah that collar is weird

call all destroyer, Thursday, 29 August 2013 22:28 (twelve years ago)

looks like it buttons down normally in one of the shots.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Thursday, 29 August 2013 22:30 (twelve years ago)

Agree about the collar though I do like the style. I'd definitely want to try it irl before plonking down £££.

Though I guess you can send things back these days.

Henry Charles Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Bruce Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Br (seandalai), Thursday, 29 August 2013 22:41 (twelve years ago)

I just always forget and notice it six months later "oh yeah, that thing that never fit me".

Henry Charles Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Bruce Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Br (seandalai), Thursday, 29 August 2013 22:43 (twelve years ago)

Same, I like to look at things online then go to a shop with a better idea of what I want. Works well IMO.

een, Sunday, 1 September 2013 16:27 (twelve years ago)

i used to check that dude's blog just to infuriate myself but then i got drawn in to his whole bizarre world of idle rich australianness and smarmy bicycle-related hashtags and sycophantic relationships with, like, his random australian tailors and i started googling him to try and learn more and i was just in too deep.

he also posts pictures of his coffee every single fucking day.

Will go well with your tartan mac! I have a policy of never looking at Mr Porter outside of sales time because it only makes me sad.

乒乓, Sunday, 1 September 2013 22:29 (twelve years ago)

The first time you said "a fob" I thought, is that like a fop? Imma just read it like "fop."

also, go to barbour on newbury for the jacket, they made a business out of p much exactly what you're looking for. oh yeah, you'll need 400 dollars.

after the painful discovery that every jacket i liked was either a) barbour, b) barbour for brand x, or c) knockoff barbour, i made the very awesome discovery that barbour's us hq and outlet store is 20 mins from my place of employment's n.h. office. copped a jacket today--$379 list, i paid $189.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 4 September 2013 19:55 (twelve years ago)

great work dude, let's have a look then.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 4 September 2013 20:29 (twelve years ago)

nice, i thought about getting a quilted barbour jacket last winter

乒乓, Wednesday, 4 September 2013 20:49 (twelve years ago)

one of those things that i like in principle but has too much baggage for me to wear (via class war)

caek, Wednesday, 4 September 2013 21:12 (twelve years ago)

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 4 September 2013 21:14 (twelve years ago)

i am reading some trend pieces and wow

did you guys realize that apparently camouflage is gonna be one of the major trends for fall

also military inspired things

this is so exciting

your authentic guitar playing self (elmo argonaut), Wednesday, 4 September 2013 21:25 (twelve years ago)

so fresh

so new

your authentic guitar playing self (elmo argonaut), Wednesday, 4 September 2013 21:25 (twelve years ago)

i hate camo
you cant see people

lag∞n, Wednesday, 4 September 2013 21:26 (twelve years ago)

I have the same instinctive bias against Barbour, also RL/Gant/etc - not that e.g. APC is unamenable to a similar analysis, the baggage there is just quite distant from my experience. xps

going (to) hell for pleather (seandalai), Wednesday, 4 September 2013 21:27 (twelve years ago)

"Also, there were lots of military-inspired features coming out of the European shows this year. From epaulets to double-breasted officer coats to interesting uses of camo, there’s a sense of masculinity and ruggedness in the pieces."

caek, Wednesday, 4 September 2013 21:31 (twelve years ago)
