wow GISing 'sweater shorts' brings up lots of sexy ladiez

乒乓, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:18 (twelve years ago)

male people's aversion to shorts is the weirdest thing to me. legs & ass are the biggest muscle groups and a lot of guys have great legs & butts that they cover up because... why??

men! show me your legs! they look great!

⚓ (elmo argonaut), Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:19 (twelve years ago)

lol yes i was just making that discovery xp

r|t|c, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:19 (twelve years ago)

to agree with caek, i am usually looking for an excuse to not wear shorts, whereas the local mentality seems to be the reverse. like, i can convince myself it is not shorts weather outside if i have my a/c high.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:19 (twelve years ago)

i wear shorts sometimes but only ones that cover my butt

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:20 (twelve years ago)

im pretty shorts adverse but if its hot enough then i do

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:21 (twelve years ago)

my buttocks are enormous

caek, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:22 (twelve years ago)

good 2 know

caek, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:22 (twelve years ago)

go on

⚓ (elmo argonaut), Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:22 (twelve years ago)

haha

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:23 (twelve years ago)

that is an argument against shorts for me.

caek, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:25 (twelve years ago)

haha actual sweater shorts are def a babe thing

i like shorts a lot but i think its a nerd thing, spending a significant amount of time with nerds has taught that almost no weather is bad enough to not wear shorts in, esp if they are cargo shorts convenient for carrying around lots of extra things in. the weird corollary to this is its never hot enough not to wear multiple layers of tops that you are constantly having to shrug off

the spectacular cow (Lamp), Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:27 (twelve years ago)

fwiw i do not like layers very much rn, i am always trying to wear as few things as possible

mnml sci-fi outfits

the spectacular cow (Lamp), Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:28 (twelve years ago)

^ i was gonna make a post abt cargo shorts

乒乓, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:29 (twelve years ago)

I love shorts. Would wear all the time.

Jeff, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 20:47 (twelve years ago)

i like shorts but sweater + shorts is too temp-confused for me.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 21 August 2013 21:49 (twelve years ago)

on the cardigan stuff imo if you find the right simple and nicely cut one they are amazing, look great with shirts and like a casual set-up for some print or whatever, but it is incredibly hard to find basic ones that are good. i have one i got in cos about two years ago and it's retained quality really well for the price.

agree the romulan emperor thing is prob a jacket, which is good given the price really. the shot from the back makes it look quite baggy but i still reckon it looks a really unique thing for the winter, would be amazing surrounded with basics.

Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 21 August 2013 23:09 (twelve years ago)

bought a sport jacket from suit supply, thanks for the tip.

this one

caek, Sunday, 25 August 2013 00:50 (twelve years ago)

Many years ago I owned a hand-me-down Ralph Lauren men's shawl collar cardigan with suede elbow patches in a rich brown melange. My friend Paul admired it greatly and he was (and is) v v professorial, so the woman who would become his wife asked if I would swap it to her for things out of her vintage goth Ophelia wardrobe so she could give it to him for his birthday. I agreed. I no longer own any of the things she swapped me for, but he still has that cardigan.

hope whoever styled that guy in the pic recovers from their stroke

r|t|c, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 10:29 (twelve years ago)

The Suit Supply pics are all hilarious. It's beyond Bateman, everyone captured in the middle of a fucking giant stride like they're doing the splits.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 27 August 2013 10:49 (twelve years ago)

heh i can kind of sympathise tbh, i find it impossible to wear a suit without turning evil

r|t|c, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 11:10 (twelve years ago)

r|t|c, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 11:15 (twelve years ago)

Does anyone store their sunglasses that way? Surely lenses and the whole thing in the pocket is standard?

乒乓, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 11:23 (twelve years ago)

all those shots are so uniformly brightly lit in every place, reminds me of like, charcoal drawings of suits from the early 1900s?

乒乓, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 11:24 (twelve years ago)

The whole site is mega-creepy, like for people who want to "win" at menswear. The shops are creepy too. I think some of the clothes are cool and their bespoke options look good but I've never bought anything due to the store being so dependent on you wanting some dude to talk at you for the duration of your purchase.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 27 August 2013 13:14 (twelve years ago)

i dunno i've heard folks rep for suit supply but it just feels like downmarket trendfucking trying to look neapolitan

your authentic guitar playing self (elmo argonaut), Tuesday, 27 August 2013 13:27 (twelve years ago)

it's a weird approach, for sure

but if the jacket fits, wear it

乒乓, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 13:33 (twelve years ago)

i had to kind of write off suitsupply after checking the about us on their site:

Suitsupply is a market defining brand showing strong international growth.

We are pioneers at everything we do, and we work hard to keep it that way. Our pioneering spirit generates a contagious energy, which is what enables us to keep putting new ideas into practice.

Our strength lies in our formula: straight, to the point and still personal. Fast and effective. Combining craftsmanship with flair.

There are few things that distract us. This approach enables us to create an environment in which our customers feel that we only have eyes for them. We are there for people who want to be seen.

elmo, is that a denim suit? it looks like a denim suit

(what was the purpose of that stupid costume) (DJP), Tuesday, 27 August 2013 13:50 (twelve years ago)

also their pants seem to have a default 7" leg opening which would look preposterous on me and leads me to believe their default sizing is some super-slim nonsense that i could never fit into.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 13:50 (twelve years ago)

I went to Famous Footwear this weekend and discovered they were doing a buy one, get one half off sale and bought two pairs of the same shoe for absolutely no reason and then had to buy clothes to match them because I have a problem:

your authentic guitar playing self (elmo argonaut), Tuesday, 27 August 2013 13:56 (twelve years ago)

(what was the purpose of that stupid costume) (DJP), Tuesday, 27 August 2013 13:58 (twelve years ago)
