Well, a little over a week into night application of Retin A (.025%) and absolutely no undesirable effects! I think one morning my skin might have felt a little different, like it feels after getting some sun, but it could have been my imagination. Probably want to bump up to .05% next time. How long until I get a porcelain complexion?
― potatoes-in-law (Je55e), Friday, 23 August 2013 14:26 (twelve years ago)
That's great but just FYI most people who do go through purging don't get that until around week 3. Porcelain complexion around 4-6 months.
― Airwrecka Bliptrap Blapmantis (ENBB), Friday, 23 August 2013 14:37 (twelve years ago)
:( Just let me pretend I'm special.
I'm mostly surprised that I haven't gotten redness or sensitivity despite not having changed any other aspects of what I do to my face.
Me in 4-6 mos

― quincie, Friday, 23 August 2013 15:55 (twelve years ago)

― no fomo (La Lechera), Friday, 23 August 2013 16:24 (twelve years ago)
at least atm it isplease no faces of meth photos
Suddenly got red dots, like tiny broken blood vessels maybe, all round both eyes. They're all over the eyelids as well as under and next to both eyes. I didn't have them at 11am yesterday, and I did when I looked in a mirror at 4pm yesterday. WTF? They're still there this morning. Not painful, and nothing else going on except for a sore throat.
― ljubljana, Sunday, 25 August 2013 13:53 (twelve years ago)
You can get them from any kind of strain that builds up pressure in your head (I don't know the technical term). I've had them from vomiting and coughing for sure.
― Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Sunday, 25 August 2013 13:59 (twelve years ago)
yep. they should clear up in a couple of days, assuming yr coughing subsides
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 25 August 2013 14:57 (twelve years ago)
Are they itchy? Are they under the skin, or swollen spots?
When I vomit, I get black eyes from burst blood vessels. They looked really awful. Last time I vomited, I pressed my hands under my eyes and didn't get the black eyes. I've thought about putting an ice pack over my eyes next time I have to puke, if possible.
― potatoes-in-law (Je55e), Sunday, 25 August 2013 16:02 (twelve years ago)
Sorry but I loled at "When I vomit, ______" dependent clause.
― no fomo (La Lechera), Sunday, 25 August 2013 17:26 (twelve years ago)
LOLing at being able to pause and get an icepack prior to puking.
― Lawyer... SUAVE... (carl agatha), Sunday, 25 August 2013 17:36 (twelve years ago)
My vomiting episodes have almost exclusively been significant life events and they involve a lot of to-do, e.g., denial, bargaining (actual praying, tho I'm an atheist), whimpering, much more denial, crying, preparing a kneeling towel, cleaning the toilet, black eye abatement, and finally, actually vomiting. It wouldn't be hard to throw an ice pack into the event.
― potatoes-in-law (Je55e), Sunday, 25 August 2013 18:27 (twelve years ago)
I suppose not in that scenario.
― Lawyer... SUAVE... (carl agatha), Sunday, 25 August 2013 18:49 (twelve years ago)
They're not itchy, and not swollen, and they seem to be very slightly faded? Not sure yet. I'll find out when I get off this overnight bus.
Je55e, I'm familiar with denial prior to vomiting!
― ljubljana, Monday, 26 August 2013 00:38 (twelve years ago)
I get those whenever I have a particularly violent vomiting sesh.

what if it's just mayo
― no fomo (La Lechera), Monday, 26 August 2013 17:37 (twelve years ago)
It is kind of a light beige color, really sticky consistency, and smells kind of metallic-y. Its very strange. I am sure it's a BLESSED POTION by LOUISE LONGHAIRS. I also bought her wacky shampoo because I heard it's just incredible. I am not that impressed with the shampoo yet.
― homosexual II, Monday, 26 August 2013 18:03 (twelve years ago)
like, I wouldnt be surprised at all if the shampoo is just johnson and johnson baby shampoo. It kinda smells the same, even.
― homosexual II, Monday, 26 August 2013 18:06 (twelve years ago)
blood vessel things seem to be fading, so yay.

Yeh, I was wondering!
H2, what led to your using this lady's product?

Now that we've roundly mocked the product and exposed this woman's illegal operation...

Well, it's working, apparently. Even if that means it's replaced H2's soul with a long-haired marketing demon.... Careful, y'all.

I know, isn't it mental? I was reading a PCOS message board and some of the PCOS-ers were talking about how awesome her shampoo is, and I just had to try it. I went for the skin cream kind of on a whim. GLAD I DID.

― homosexual II, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 19:25 (twelve years ago)
I do need a haircut (was thinking of getting one TODAY) but there is no price list (would've gone to reg stylist before she moved but need to cheap out) and I have to fill out an "about you" form before I can book an appointment! Xp
― she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 27 August 2013 19:27 (twelve years ago)
Hahaha no kidding. My hairstylist used ~organic~ dye so maybe I'll just be gently chastised. Or she will list out how the dye was not actually organic and aren't I glad she's here to tell me the truth??
― she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 27 August 2013 19:28 (twelve years ago)

Mostly innocuous if self involved but:
"Do people try to pressure you into cutting your hair shorter for them or any other reasons? Tell Longhairs all about it... If this is preceeding a naturopathy-only session, list about what average doctor want to try to put you on. instead. : *"
