Oh, thanks! I feel like I just rip them off from nails I find online. Actually I'm kind of idly musing whether there's a pattern I'd like to make "mine" in a trademark way, or a style that isn't already common that I feel rly works for me. If I'm going to do these more, do I want to keep returning to something recognizable of my own instead of just copying other people's work that interests me? Etc.

I bought striping tape and little beads and jewels for even femme-ier stuff, think I will use my mom as a guinea pig for the crystals and beads. The striping tape is SO thin that it's not useful for making lines because the paint closes in over top of it.

I talked my mother into buying Butter London base & top coats and 2 colors and gave her my two colors and I think I got her hooked.

The impetus for gradienting was that I finally bought a bag of those foam make-up sponges. I love things that require the proper tools.

Is Butter London topcoat worth the $$$? I like Seche Vite but would like to find a comparable topcoat that's 3- or 4- free.

My feeling about Butter London, discussed here I think? is that if you use their polishes, you need their base and top coats. No info on how the topcoat performs with other brands.

And I love the colors, too! Just bought the coral red, which is OPI "My Paprika Is Hotter than Yours," and the red + yellow combo reminds me of a peach.

I'm looking for a very particular blue this season that I haven't quite found yet. A royal blue that is just slightly "electric blue." Saw the shade I want in a photo but I don't remember if it credited the polish. So...a little mission!

The Butter polishes have been lasting better for me but I have been using their base and top coats. It is the only basecoat I have ever used that didn't make the polish go bubbly.

I would buy a polish called Grassy Knoll just because it's called Grassy Knoll.

I mean, I bought No Means No because what kind of name is that?!?!?!?

Yeah, sure! Just fyi designs that need to be taped off can take several hours to dry enough to do all the steps--this is not a fast process. But devoted followers of this thread get freebies. :)

Does anyone else have a problem with blue nail polish staining their nails a blue-grey tint after being removed? Any ideas on how to get that off?

Yeah blues seem especially bad at leaving pigment behind, even with acetone! Makes me look vaguely cyanotic for a day afterward.
