opinons on steven alan jeans

I have been unsuccessfully jeans shopping myself. All I can say is that it was a shitty enough endeavor when I had $$$ to spend; now that I'm on a tight budget, it is BEYOND SHITTY.

Got a pair of madewells rail straight in dark blue wash on sale; not terrible but not great--stretched out quite a bit (2% elastane) and gapes at the waist.

Gonna try Levi's "Bold Curve" straights when I hit up a Levi's outlet.

Oh and a washing question: if a jean has stretch (which seems unavoidable in women's jeans these days), is washing good or bad? I'd like to get them tightened up again. . .

i would like to take this opportunity to relate that being a parent is taking a serious toll on the knees of my jeans. one pair i've already patched three times, another pair, less than 3 years old has just developed a hole. it's a disgrace.

I am seriously upset about jeans these days.

I literally only have one pair that I like and I've bought about five over the last year that just did not work.

They're great out of the dryer but sag within an hour and then I have baggy ass which is NAGL! I am ready to spend some serious $$$ on jeans that will fit well, make my butt look good, and not lose their shape but I don't know where to start looking.

HALP.

I went to the Levi's store. They have changed all the cuts and colors again so I can't just replace the ones I'm wearing, I have to buy something totally different this time. Bastards.

Went for the bold curve ankles again which are basically leggings with a zipper, which is fine.

u can look on ebay maybe for discontinued cuts if u need them

Hmmm maybe I should go to the Levis store. I think there's one downtown. I just need to go somewhere and be ready to try on all the jeans until I find THE ONES. I just hate clothes shopping so much. blah.

by the way is there truth to the notion that levi's prices its american jeans so low as to lose money, and makes up for it with extortionate prices in the rest of the world? my anecdotal experience seems to back it up but i wonder if someone could bring the knowledge on this subject (i.e. STEVE SHASTA)

levis were pretty expensive in hong kong but so were a lot of american brands

With women's jeans, Levi's seem to offer each cut and color for like 2 seasons or something. Like, they have not made the 531 Low Skinny since the season when I first bought two pairs of them, which is a crying shame. I did just check ebay, which seems like it might be fruitful eventually.

I wore my busted up 531s into the store just now and the (also curvy) saleswoman was like "SHOW ME THOSE, WHAT??"

dayo, all my jeans are patched, I have a drawer full of 6 pairs of jeans, 5 of which have blown-out thighs patched with varying materials/levels of success. I will now rotate out the saddest pair.

Levis drive me crazy with their changing styles all the time. Jeans shopping is so fraught! I wish I enjoyed it more but it stresses me out like swimwear shopping

I half-solved my Levi's shopping problem by not even trying to find anything myself. I grab the first female sales associate I find on my way in the door and pull up my shirt to show whatever Levi's I'm wearing and say, "Replace these. Bring me your shortest offerings" and we go from there.

Now that they have this whole Demi/Bold curve thing going, I say, bring me your shortest, curviest offerings. Today the cashier who rang me up called me her Bold sister. Retail is cool on rainy days when the staff are super bored.
