Reblogged on tumblr by one of our very own here (I'll let her own up to it if she wants to), but damn I want this stuff:

The labels! The Luv Puff!
I also am enjoying Olivia Hussey's eyebrows very much.

Ha! I love Olivia Hussey and the packaging is so cute. Luv Puff!

Out of curiosity,I spent a week wearing my Clinique foundation every day. Decided I def need to switch up my game.
Went back to Bare Escentuals primer which has been the kindest to my face & doesn't aggravate the way Smashbox and Clinique cityblock do.
Read some rosacea borads and found a lot of positive talk re Revlon Colorstay foundation, of all things. Which seemed kinda "Wha?" to me. But since it's cheap & easy to find, I'm giving it a whirl. Accidentally got a shade darker by mistake but it looks not too bad! Bit of color seems to do me good, lol.
So we shall see. It's 24hr which troubles me as far as removal goes, but may be a plus for not sliding off my face. Formula is v light & does not touch off once applied which will be a godsend since I am a terrible habitual face toucher.
Exciting!

i never stray from cheap revlon blush tbh. sometimes cheap stuff rules

Considering switching to liquid eyeliner everyday - used to do pencil as it's softer but the smudginess has started to look a bit uneven or weird, can't really put my finger on why it looks off after over a decade of using it... But enjoying Stila's liquid liner and it looks a lot fresher. Not bothering with flicks or anything as I have about 30 secs in the morning to do it and that is a recipe for disaster!
― kinder, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:03 (thirteen years ago)
Annoyingly tho if I put it on over eyelid primer it doesn't go on very easily. Which is the opposite of pencil.
― kinder, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:04 (thirteen years ago)
i just started using gel eyeliner which i thought i would hate and i LOVE IT
― purp (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:06 (thirteen years ago)
Looks tricky? I guess no more than liquid with a brush but i'm rubbish at that too (hence stila pen)
― kinder, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:11 (thirteen years ago)
i thought it was going to be tricky too but i find it easier than liquid tbh
― purp (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:28 (thirteen years ago)
Gel liner is the stuff in the little pot with the brush, right?
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:34 (thirteen years ago)
yep. its very very thick and therefore kind of applies like a solid eyeliner, but with the smoothness of liquid
― purp (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 20:53 (thirteen years ago)
I have a gel liner in a pot but it doesn't go thickly enough onto the brush. Maybe I'm supposed to layer it on?

Posted that, then went back to reading a paper for school. Got totally got the wrong mental picture from the next line, which was 'Subsequent information is mapped onto this foundation'.
― ljubljana, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 22:13 (thirteen years ago)
i just do the bic lighter/kohl pencil for gel eyeliner, seems to work about the same. I looooove the depth it gives, looks so theatrical and rad.

New foundation Day 2 - am v pleased with the results so far.
I decided the too-dark color I purchased was a little bit tooo dark - not orange but just a little odd looking. So I mixed it with a lighter shade and came up with a pretty good match. I love the finish, and it holds up SO well for daywear.
Interested to see how another week of wear will go -- no breakouts or horrible itching yet, so fingers crossed.

carl agatha fyi I am on the blotting papers train
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 4 March 2013 19:32 (thirteen years ago)
Yes!
My new job has toilet seat covers so that's what I've been using to blot my face (I don't sit on them bc our bathroom is private, clean as hell, and gets thoroughly cleaned every day so I rub my allotment on my face).
― carl agatha, Monday, 4 March 2013 19:41 (thirteen years ago)
that's a good idea!

Can't find the L'Or3al lineur intens3 in brown (as recommended by io upthread) other than in the felt-tip version. Ended up getting their Infallible 16-hour liner. It did pretty well yesterday I think, although I kind of forgot to check my face.
― ljubljana, Friday, 15 March 2013 11:23 (thirteen years ago)
I looked for it too, after laurels rec - no dice, but it is on amazon for cheap
― just1n3, Friday, 15 March 2013 14:52 (thirteen years ago)
Huh. It's in every Duane Reade but maybe that's a chain ordering thing!

I'm the opposite wrt lineur intense - I only like the felt tip one but I'm pissed because they discontinued my favorite color. :(

I find the felt tip a lot easier to maneuver than the brush but I can use that one too in a pinch. My mom used the brush one for years.

No duane reads out here - I checked cvs etc.
― just1n3, Friday, 15 March 2013 14:56 (thirteen years ago)
I think Duane Read is NYC only. When I was in the city in Dec I popped into one because I forgot deodorant and omg it was awesome and fancy and had sushi waht?!
― go to party leather (ENBB), Friday, 15 March 2013 14:57 (thirteen years ago)
Try Walgreens if you have those. Duane Reed is a Walgreens subsidiary so they may carry similar product lines.
― carl agatha, Friday, 15 March 2013 15:04 (thirteen years ago)
Heh. No, I know DR is an NYC chain, just meant the item is commonly found here, did not occur to me it'd be difficult.

Although I don't normally pay any attention to makeup expiration dates, I decided that my mascara being more than three months old would be a good excuse for buying something new. On a whim I tried Pixi Large Lash - http://www.pixibeauty.com/makeup/eyes/large-lash-mascara-468 - and so far I like it a lot! No clumps, and I didn't get that stupid smudge of mascara under my left eye (always and only my left eye...) by the end of the day. It also washed off really easily. It's pricy for a Target product, though - $18.

Wanna try leftmost three rows down, but predict it will end in watery eyes.
― ljubljana, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 12:48 (thirteen years ago)
Oh carl thank you so much.
― lets just remember to blame the patriarchy for (in orbit), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 12:50 (thirteen years ago)
The leftmost on the 2nd row down is my normal jam but now I want to try so many more.
― lets just remember to blame the patriarchy for (in orbit), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 13:03 (thirteen years ago)
um in a word yes

Yay! I thought this would be a hit. Looking forward to photographic documentation of you steady handed people's attempts at new looks.
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 14:28 (thirteen years ago)
I am in awe of this nameless eyeball model's amazing eyebrow.
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 14:29 (thirteen years ago)
seriously i physically can't do any eyeliners like that -- they make me look like a crazy old lady! it's smudgy pencil or nothing for me because i don't have the hand to even try.
― and that sounds like a gong-concert (La Lechera), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 14:31 (thirteen years ago)
Ha, me, too. I can get something in the general vicinity of the top right eye as long as nobody looks too closely to see the wobbly top line (which is due in part to my lack of skill and in part to my aging eyelids).
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 14:32 (thirteen years ago)
I would be willing to sit still and let anybody try any of those out on me, though.
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 14:33 (thirteen years ago)
my problem is my eyes are set deep and the browbone area has not a lot of real estate
I loooooooove wearing lots of eyeliner but it makes my eyes look small. But yeah I'm inspired to try some of these jams,
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 16:57 (thirteen years ago)
i've wondered if maybe my eyes are just not the sort of shape that takes well to upswept eyeliner. every time i've tried it i just wind up looking like or at least feeling like baby jane.
― and that sounds like a gong-concert (La Lechera), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 17:32 (thirteen years ago)
i get mad wobbly line due to my eyelid skin too. I have quite a steady hand otherwise :(
― kinder, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 17:50 (thirteen years ago)
under eye concealer reqs go
My old one just ain't cutting it anymore. I need a powerful one that won't sink into the couple of fine lines I seem to have developed :(.
― Airwrecka Bliptrap Blapmantis (ENBB), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 17:51 (thirteen years ago)
My eyelids are hooded, so I have no idea how to do a winged line that doesn't make me look like an 80 yr old
― just1n3, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 18:01 (thirteen years ago)
i use this in buff that's right, "buff"

I was struggling to find undereye concealer that didn't do that "settling into fine lines" crap and this is good, albeit pricey - http://www.sephora.com/effacernes-waterproof-protective-undereye-concealer-P54438
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 18:16 (thirteen years ago)
I have that and it is very good but I felt like sometimes it looked a little cakey? I still do use it occasionally and might go back to it if I don't find something else.
― Airwrecka Bliptrap Blapmantis (ENBB), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 18:19 (thirteen years ago)
I use Touche Eclat but it doesn't really cover like a proper concealer. Also I mainly use it on the inside bit on the side of the nose where I have huge shadows (it's v good for that)
