i liked the streak from a few years back

I liked the streak too!

Yeah going blonde or getting highlights always includes bleach and toner. Some lady a few years back didn't tone mine once and the results were less than ideal. Too brash!

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Friday, 28 September 2012 18:51 (thirteen years ago)

lol I mean brassy!

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Friday, 28 September 2012 18:51 (thirteen years ago)

Whoah, I come back and there is so much advice! Thank you, all.

I don't mind brassy, I'm not going for a natural look here. And if you know what you're doing, you can get the dyes and toners at Ricky's and just go for it. I'll get the cut and then see if there's a bit I want to emphasize like I did with my old streak.

purveyor of generations (in orbit), Friday, 28 September 2012 18:53 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, it's not always bad. This was bad though - very bad.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Friday, 28 September 2012 18:57 (thirteen years ago)

i have naturally dark brown hair but it goes blonde with a $8 box of loreal preference. I never use bleach like the blue shite unless im trying to get another dyed color out.

BLOCKY 4 LYFE (sunny successor), Friday, 28 September 2012 19:44 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, but I think there's bleach in all dyes that lighten even home kits like that, no?

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Friday, 28 September 2012 19:50 (thirteen years ago)

yeah I guess but I dont think its mad lethal like the straight blue stuff

BLOCKY 4 LYFE (sunny successor), Friday, 28 September 2012 21:30 (thirteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

Ok don't laugh, but I've wanted to slick my hair back for years, but never have tried it. My grandfather slicked his hair back for years and when he was older it stayed that way, which is how I'd like to look when I'm older, like

What are good products that won't be too greasy? I think my grandfather had this bucket of hair grease he used. There has to be something better?

JacobSanders, Thursday, 25 October 2012 17:22 (thirteen years ago)

my rec would be sumotech:

MONDAY and I think I have the itch to go short again. Like, short short.

ENBB, Sunday, 28 October 2012 01:38 (thirteen years ago)

I saw this and thought maybe this was a cute cut:

http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mab9hkMVzX1qzf33uo1_1280.jpg

but then realized I basically had that cut or v similar at one point:

Hmmmmm

I am so tempeted? Any other ideas? Maybe for something not quite that short but not boring either.

ENBB, Sunday, 28 October 2012 02:01 (thirteen years ago)

I am a little nervous about how sad this haircut seems to have made me though.

ENBB, Sunday, 28 October 2012 02:03 (thirteen years ago)

i really like that first pic!

this is prolly shorter than you would like but imo you have such a striking face it would look p rad on u

I like that cut a lot, E! Especially if it were just a bit longer so you get that awesome volume. Too cool!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Sunday, 28 October 2012 16:35 (thirteen years ago)

So I posted one on fb but this is better of the actual cut. I can't seem to take pictures anymore without making ridiculous faces so excuse that nonsense but yeah:

Thanks guys. I am really happy w it.

ENBB, Thursday, 1 November 2012 00:31 (thirteen years ago)

my hair (and skin) has been super greasy lately. it looks like it needs washing every day - it seems to have started when i began using head n shoulders; before that, i was able to go almost a week without washing, but i would get a super flaky scalp which was nagl. i started using the HnS and the flakiness stopped but now it's so limp and oily and gross. and my face has gotten really oil and blemishy. ugh ugh ugh!

just1n3, Thursday, 1 November 2012 00:37 (thirteen years ago)

tea tree shampoos are supposed to be good for flakiness--might be worth a try to see if they're better for yr hair?

JuliaA, Thursday, 1 November 2012 01:53 (thirteen years ago)

ENBB, haircut looks great!

JuliaA, Thursday, 1 November 2012 01:54 (thirteen years ago)

T-gel is v good for my husband's short hair, might be worth a try?

kinder, Thursday, 1 November 2012 08:10 (thirteen years ago)

so awesome

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 16 November 2012 19:37 (thirteen years ago)

That much closer to assuming the identity of my idol. No word yet on how I'm going to become Swedish.

grossly incorrect register (in orbit), Friday, 16 November 2012 19:44 (thirteen years ago)

holy shit super awesome yes!!!

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Friday, 16 November 2012 19:51 (thirteen years ago)

I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way but you look super-youthful, orbit! in the best way possible. it's such a good cut for your face!

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 16 November 2012 19:55 (thirteen years ago)

I have a babyface, it is true. I might have to start taking better care of my skin now because so much of it shows!

Also, sorry to steal your deal, rrrobyn, but it's shortened under the over-hang too so I can pull it back into a pompadour. So excited guise!

grossly incorrect register (in orbit), Friday, 16 November 2012 19:58 (thirteen years ago)

That looks fantastic. I want to see it in the pompadour!!!!!!!!!!!

carl agatha, Friday, 16 November 2012 20:02 (thirteen years ago)

That is some serious hair bravery - looks fantastic!

just1n3, Friday, 16 November 2012 20:09 (thirteen years ago)

Cutting it more and more dramatically forces me to work on and get comfy with being less femme in my life, and hopefully focusing on the things (abt myself and also abt the world) and people who like me that way. It's pretty challenging, this is prob the most drastic step yet, but I only have to make the tough choice at the haircut itself and then I get to figure out how to live with it for 6 weeks afterward. It has been fairly awesome all along.

Also all hail Steff my stylist, obviously and forever.

WELL DONE

passion it person (La Lechera), Friday, 16 November 2012 20:37 (thirteen years ago)

your face is so adorable that it could be a nest of wiry greys on one side and bald on the other and you would still manage to look good -- work it, give 0 fucks, hi 5!!

even if you hate it tomorrow guess what
it is hair and it grows back

passion it person (La Lechera), Friday, 16 November 2012 20:50 (thirteen years ago)

That's what Steph says too.

grossly incorrect register (in orbit), Friday, 16 November 2012 21:01 (thirteen years ago)

Girl that is fantastic! I got my hair did yesterday and my stylist has v short hair but kind of long on top and i'm vaguely considering similar.... ... .......?

kinder, Friday, 16 November 2012 21:50 (thirteen years ago)

Love it! I rocked something similar for a looooooooong time and only gave it up because maintenance was a bit high; also realized that I need some more hair to balance out extreme tallness.

quincie, Saturday, 17 November 2012 13:06 (thirteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

Does it make sense to say I want a haircut that looks as though I've got my hair up, but is actually just a short cut with face-framing bangs? What might such a thing look like?

ljubljana, Sunday, 2 December 2012 22:01 (thirteen years ago)

answer: awesome!

quincie, Sunday, 2 December 2012 22:35 (thirteen years ago)

Heh, that's the goal but can't envisage the actual cut. Time to go buy a bunch of hair magazines.

ljubljana, Sunday, 2 December 2012 23:33 (thirteen years ago)

just gis it -- don't buy anything!

are you thinking about something like this or shorter in the back?!

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SMkbXHIwE0k/TmR8mYpTt6I/AAAAAAAAF6M/x0qX4uJcH9s/s640/short+hair+styles+pictures.jpg

passion it person (La Lechera), Sunday, 2 December 2012 23:49 (thirteen years ago)

That might work! - maybe with shorter bangs over the forehead, but still longer at the sides of the face? I'm not sure about the back - my instinct is shorter. I wasn't sure what on earth to gis - what did you use?

ljubljana, Monday, 3 December 2012 00:06 (thirteen years ago)

My advice as a person who has done allllll lengths: go for longer in the back than you think; it is easy to go shorter, but you might be startled enough to be glad you were conservative in the chopping.

quincie, Monday, 3 December 2012 00:17 (thirteen years ago)

Two haircuts I once had (first one not really a haircut... both were circa ten years ago)

Bet this image hosting doesn't work, I have a kind of blind spot for succeeding in getting pics up but here goes:

ljubljana, Monday, 3 December 2012 00:53 (thirteen years ago)

A great one! I love that very much on you!

quincie, Monday, 3 December 2012 01:04 (thirteen years ago)

That is a top notch look!! Your face is great.

passion it person (La Lechera), Monday, 3 December 2012 01:10 (thirteen years ago)

That Sienna Miller pic is what I brought to my hairdresser last time and pretty much the cut I have now.
