I have a pair of bass penny loafers in the mail to me and am now searching for the perfect Oxford. Also I dearly want a black pair of lace-up vans.

Virginia Plain, Monday, 24 September 2012 01:35 (thirteen years ago)

abbs you were right about miz mooz - i did some intense online window shopping with my friend on friday night, and i found a TON of shoes from them that i love. even my perfect boots! but they only seem to be available online at one store (in new york) and i'll have to risk $20 shipping to try them.

and also these in black

might as well get these in tobacco while i'm at it

Oh I really like the ones you posted first by mistake with the buttons. So cute!

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 13:28 (thirteen years ago)

I have good luck finding that brand at Nordstrom Rack but it's a game of chance going there, as you know.
Love those Silas boots! yowsers

The Most Typical and Popular Girl Rider (Crabbits), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 13:59 (thirteen years ago)

VP, I hope you love your pennyloafers!!! Mine are only about a year old but I've cracked the soles at the hinge and worn through all the leather under the ball of the foot--they need complete resoling already, and they give me horrible pains in my arches to wear. ;__; Will not get them again. So sad. Your feet are nothing like mine so they'll probably be perfect for you.

purveyor of generations (in orbit), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 14:03 (thirteen years ago)

I do like the silas ones (with buttons), but the other tobacco ones have a lower heel, making them preferable

just1n3, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 14:46 (thirteen years ago)

Riddle me this: why are Clarks shoes SO CUTE in the UK but DOWDY in the US? In England they had adorable heels and mary janes and t-straps and I am looking at the US site and it's a sea of beige and brown.

homosexual II, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 01:33 (thirteen years ago)

clarks originals?

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 02:05 (thirteen years ago)

The "Indigo" line for which one of my friend designs is supposed to be their young US line afaik.

It is weirding me out that chunky stacked heels seem to be back now.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 02:16 (thirteen years ago)

I paid £40 for a pair of Clarks shoes which look no different from your cheapo black ballet flats except they are proper leather (I think) and are cut very slightly differently so they actually fit me. All other ballet shoes ever seem to be cut from the same template and there's not enough shoe covering my foot and my foot falls out of them. Some barely cover the first knuckle of my big toe! Oh also the sole is all chunky and rubbery (not noticeably though) so they should last a little while.

I'm getting frustrated again with sneaker shopping, but I like the nocturnal vibe of these!

โตเกียวเหมียวเหมียว aka Italo Night at Some Gay Club (Mount Cleaners), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 14:29 (thirteen years ago)

yow! don't do it.

thinking of a no new sneakers resolution

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:24 (thirteen years ago)

I realized the other day that I've had the one pair of Saucony's for 7 years. I have newer sneakers too but those are still my fave.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:50 (thirteen years ago)

I got a great pair of Nike cross-trainy things years ago at their outlet, and they are the most comfortable sneakers I've ever had. I try not to wear them too much these days bc they're starting to fall apart a little bit and I don't want to replace them :(

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:16 (thirteen years ago)

i still sort of want these though

https://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.svpply.com/large/190551.jpg

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:18 (thirteen years ago)

I like those better than the Adidads tbh

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:20 (thirteen years ago)

me too!

the adidas look sort of off for some reason, i think they trimmed the outsoles down to make them look "sleek" and it makes them look too metrosexual

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:21 (thirteen years ago)

they end up look like driving slippers because the outsole gets so skinny at the top

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:22 (thirteen years ago)

those new balances were on the cover of "sneaker freaker" magazine tho and now fetch like $250 at auction, don't think it will be happening

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:23 (thirteen years ago)

probably more like $300 actually

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:24 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah and the Adidas toe is too low and rounded, definitely has more of a slipper look under jeans.

I want a pair of Air Max 90's so bad. Grey/black, same as the ones I wore in high school. Best sneakers EVER.

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:29 (thirteen years ago)

for the man in black, i don't wear black

the late great, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:28 (thirteen years ago)

Not shoes, but socks: where can I buy nicely made but not super expensive dress-ish socks? UNIQLO is kind of the best but they're too far away, and H&M has nice designs but I have about 6 pairs of their socks (all less than a year old) that are all at the point of needing to be thrown away, not fucking dealing w/ this shit anymore, I WANT TO INVEST IN WELL MADE SOCKS THAT LOOK COOL WHERE HOW DO I DO THIS

bell biv devo (Stevie D(eux)), Sunday, 30 September 2012 15:39 (thirteen years ago)

Happy Socks look really really cool! But are perhaps a bit out of my price range.

bell biv devo (Stevie D(eux)), Sunday, 30 September 2012 15:40 (thirteen years ago)

This is really lame but I could not find decent men's socks in the US high street stores that weren't like Tommy Hilfiger or something! I had to order some from Next!
(I buy my o/h bulk packs of socks for Christmas kind of as this rubbish longrunning joke but also kind of because it's useful, but they have to be nice cottony ones that aren't plain black and have nice designs. Got a bunch of black/various colour houndstooth ones which were super soft last time.)

Rainbow Frankenstein Wants To Eat U sneakers

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 6 October 2012 19:18 (thirteen years ago)

actually I kinda like them, though I could never wear something so colorful, lol

LG did u buy them?

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 6 October 2012 19:20 (thirteen years ago)

no, i can't afford them right now and i don't think i could really come up with an outfit where it wouldn't scream LOOK AT MY SHOES LOOK AT MY SHOES LOOK AT MY SHOES because everything i wear is so basic

i think those shoes are for like japanese dudes who are wearing like grey tie dye cargo shorts with a purple polo shirt, beaded necklace and bucket hat. that would be cute. but i don't dress like that.

who knows, maybe someday.

the late great, Saturday, 6 October 2012 20:30 (thirteen years ago)

some stuff is just reserved for japanese sneaker dudes FRUiTS

the late great, Saturday, 6 October 2012 20:37 (thirteen years ago)

by which i mean japanese street fashion folk

need more swag to wear those

the late great, Saturday, 6 October 2012 20:44 (thirteen years ago)

yeah those are hella fruity :D

the style is v intimidating to me, like you say you def have to be bringing crazy a-game to pull those off

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 7 October 2012 01:26 (thirteen years ago)

Jeez I don't think I would think twice abt wearing those; it's rly nbd they're just shoes

bell biv devo (Stevie D(eux)), Sunday, 7 October 2012 04:00 (thirteen years ago)

Love!

Virginia Plain, Sunday, 7 October 2012 13:55 (thirteen years ago)

i don't like the s-shaped stitch along the quarter - wouldn't mind if it wasn't a contrast stitch - but otherwise they look pretty good. the sole looks quality.

the late great, Sunday, 7 October 2012 20:42 (thirteen years ago)

a handsome looking shoe!
